  1. Agreed. Our society seems to get colder, harder with each passing year. I am very weary, my friend.

    Michael Jackson's a pedophile...no problem...all is good, let's buy millions in records

Michael Vick kills dogs for fun...well, he's worth a lot to the NFL, let's buy tickets

what's the next forgivable profitable sin?

  2. Speaking of Hillary, big shock that she screwed New York out of $260MM.

bah...NY doesn't need that money from foreigners

NYS residents will get to shoulder that missing 260 million load!

btw, what are WNY'ers paying for sales tax right now? my parents just visited Buffalo and came back to NH muttering something about 13.25%? It seems to be too high to believe...but then again, this is NY we're talking about.

  3. Now, the key to answering questions that you don't know is to say, "hmmm...I'm going to have to get back to you on that one" in a manner that would convince them that you have a good idea but just want to double check. After they signed my defense documents following a 90 minute grilling, I hopped into my car and sped out of state. I never did get back to them...

I was a bit surprised I was only in for 90 minutes. My first year exam was 3 hours! 3 hours of standing and migraine inducing questioning. Then my qualifier was another painful 2 hours. 90 minutes was a breeze.

Good luck! btw, have fun explaining to people that, "Yes, I am a real doctor...but I'm not a physician." My wife likes telling people that I'm "the fake kind of doctor..."

I think he's freaking out because when i am gone, no one currently in the lab has a good biochem background. The other 4 students are all chem engineers whose bio knowledge comes from a semester of baby bio and 2 grad classes.
hey! those grad biochem classes were hell!
  4. interesting. could i get you to state your stance on like gay rights.. and abortions?

I'm a libertarian so I'm fiscally conservative and socially liberal. I don't care about what homosexuals do behind closed doors or if they want to marry. I used to be very pro-choice and I guess I still am, however since my wife became pregnant, I'm not as "gung-ho" as I used to be. It's one thing to be in college and to be in support of something you have no experience in. It's another thing when your wife is carrying your child. At the first ultrasound, you get to see the body developing and a heart beating. I got my PhD while working in a pediatrics/neonatology department and still really can't tell you when life begins, but to me, my kid was alive at 10 weeks. While I support a woman's right to choose, I'd like people to consider personal responsibility and the consequences their actions have. I loathe the idea of a woman getting rid of a fetus because it was a one night mistake with some guy, but I wouldn't want to force her to keep it. If it's rape or some sort of birth defect, by all means do whatever you feel is right. God doesn't play a role in my points of view. I was never brought up to believe in one. My big thing is personal responsibility.

  5. Quoted for truth.

Quoted for stupidity. Define intellectual. My resume and educational background would indicate that I'm highly intellectual and yet I'm a conservative libertarian atheist.

I find that the liberals that scream the loudest about being well educated and open minded are the idiots that majored in some liberal arts degree that only prepared them to thumb their noses at others while being totally unprepared for the real world.

  6. I always thought CNN was biased to the republican side. I'll have to dig up some examples of that one of these days. I'm not in the mood right now.

I always thought they were overly biased to the democrats. I never really noticed however until the Bush-Kerry election where the panel on election night was basically praying for Kerry to win. I'd never seen such unprofessional journalism before and just left a horrible taste in my mouth. They are basically Fox News...just for the other side.

  7. We have to realize that to err is humane and to forgive divine. Look, we know he made a mistake, but we'll need to wait for a court to decide the extent. Thing is, we don't know if the victim didn't jump in front of his car in a suicide mission, or if he had fallen and Dante couldn't see him lying in the road, or if there were extenuating circumstances with the weather, or if he had swerved to avoid the guy but he couldn't because the roads were wet...a lot to consider. As of right now he remains innocent, and there's really nothing more to say.

    seriously?

how do you feel about OJ?

  8. Where is this notion that TO is some big party animal coming from? I don't recall ever seeing him light up the tabloids in San Fran, Philly or Big D.

exactly...WNY'ers get so wound up about personal city pride they start making dreaming up scenarios and worrying about things a player may not even be interested in

  9. I no longer live in Buffalo and have found it harder and harder to follow the Bills because they're just terrible. After I found out that Dick Jauron was going to be retained after this season, I decided to financially and emotionally throw in the towel. I wasn't going to quit the team and jump ship for the Patriots or anything like that, but I wasn't going to spend my Sundays spending an assload of money sitting in a NE bar to watch the game on direct tv nor was I going to purchase any more Bills merchandise. I figured, if the management didn't give a sh--, then I wasn't going to give a sh-- either.

This signing puts me right back on the wagon. Do I think T.O. is going to solve all of our offensive problems? No. But I do believe that this move helps the team as we really have no stand out offensive player. There is player on the team before the TO signing that I could look to or rely on to score the winning TD when the game is on the line. The Bills now not only have someone that they could rely on to get them out of a tight jam, they also have a player that will draw attention and free up some of our other "star" players.

Just when I thought I was out... they pull me back in.

  10. C'Mon Baboo, I know you're hitting the sarcasm button, but seriously, plain "winning" has been sort out of fashion lately for us Bills fans, so TE has to give us all some hope, right?

I'd prefer a playoff berth guarantee...similar to what Whitner did last year.

Yes, I know how well that one turned out...but it's a hell of a lot bolder than, "We play to win!"
