  1. No, he gave away two fourth round picks (this year's and last year's) for the chance to move up 8 slots in round 2 to pick an ILB who likely would have been available anyway. He traded all that for just a chance to move up? gutsy move by doug, good thing it paid off and we got to actually move up. Every pre draft rankings i seen had ragland in the top 30 and many mocks had the bills taking him at 19 so maybe he traded up to get first round talent that dropped. There was a chance he could have still been there but no guarantees
  2. I think Doug Whaley is the worst more than anybody, but causality seems to be at play here.

Do you think those winning teams have lots of comp picks because they have lots of good players and can't keep them all?

    Improvement? We've gotten worse.

we've gotten worse under whaley? While we havent taken the next step up yet, i think saying we have gotten worse is a stretch.
  3. John, isn't that the point? Whaley trades away our draft picks, doles out huge contracts, and we continue to lose. Now, while so many teams are gaining resources, we continue to languish without much good news in sight.Whaley is a disaster and he should have been fired with Rex.

while the verdict is obviously still out on ragland sammy is a good player, i cant think of anyone else he traded up for. Remember some of the gems we wasted picks on trading up before in the past losman mccargo denney. Lots of people used to complain when we would let our own good players go in the past, now we keep alot of them and people blame whaley. If he can find a solution to the bills qb problems all is well.

He struck out with ej, got a single with tyrod, now its time to try again

  4. Except we don't lose. The three seasons that have followed full Whaley off seasons we are exactly .500. Good enough? No. Improvement? Yes. Clock running out on him finding a Quarterback? Without question. But has he built a talented roster? I honestly believe he has.

finding good cheap players like z brown and alexander are the reason we didnt get any comp picks this year but i guess that is a failure by whaley, maybe he should have let go of glenn and incognito and we could have got some to please some fans. We will probably lose gilmore, woods, and atleast one of zb or alexander which should get us some good comp picks next year but im sure the same people crying about picks now will cry about how we dont keep our good players.
  5. You don't give up your QB, to go to a guy in Cardale who was benched his final year at Ohio State and only started 14 games.

dobyou even know why he was benched

Anyone citing "letting go of Hogan" as an example of Whaley's incompetence, I kind of have a tough time taking seriously. I don't think it's an outrageous viewpoint to be anti-Whaley but it's hard to argue he hasn't made more good moves than bad ones if you factor in drafting, FA signings/who he let go and trades.

i agree, just look at hogans 2 games against the bills, the qb makes him way better just like every wr
