  1. I really like Reed and A'Shawn.

If I'm drafting for 'NEED', which I never do, I think I need to find Mario's Replacement. And also prepare for Kyle's replacement.

But then I wonder if we put Marcel and KW on the outside spots in a base 3-4, can Reed or A'Shawn clog the middle? Wouldn't a Billings be a better choice? But then I don't have my DE.

And then I think shouldn't I get a pure EDGE rusher like Spence or Floyd?

Or the consensus best ILB in Ragland?

    So many possibilities.

  2.

Did you see the money Brock Osweiller got? He did much less than Tyrod has. He also is only a year younger.

I looked into this earlier in the off season after the contracts handed out to Bradford and Osweiller (who both got way overpaid imo)

There are 21 qbs in the league who AVERAGE over 16 million a year. The only 2 qbs in the entire league who are on a second contract and make less than that while expected to start are Foles at 12.2 and RG3 at 7.5. Tyrod is all the way down at 1.1.

Tyrod is looking at least at 16 million next year at the absolute lowest end if he performs well playoffs or not. The going rate for a qb is astronomical right now. If the Bills don't want to open the purse strings you have to believe that someone will. Drew Brees, Andrew Luck, and Kirk Cousins are all qbs who are slated to be FA next year. Kirk Cousins likely sets the Tyrod market (if Tyrod performs well next season). This year he got the franchise tag and 19.9 million. That means with the contract leap frog (great term btw) 20 million is not unexpected (if he plays well)

But didn't Osweiler get that money because Houston is stupid?

They may end up Ok but that's a significant risk if Brock ends up sucking.

Either way it's a Robosack type error if he flounders which is certainly more likely than not.

As for Tyrod - he signed a contract. He should live by those terms. If he blows up next year, like deep playoff run blow up, then we should all be thrilled and he should get his pay day.

  3. I'm certainly not OK with Drafting a QB at #19 or #49...But I think it enters the conversation at #80...I would rather wait till #117, but QB's get pushed up...And If you can get your pick of 3rd tier guys (I'm assuming Goff, Wentz and Lynch are tier 1...Cook and Hackenberg tier 2) at #80...You might as well do it...Because the reality is the Bills have 2 QB's with only 2016 left on their deals...It's insurance...

I do think the Bills are in a position where they should take a QB...And I think that position is a nice one for a developmental type...Outside of preseason this Draft pick will very likely not see the field in 2016...That gives the kid a full year of development...No rushing them in...I like the idea...No question it's a long-shot...But at least you take out the possibility the kid gets thrown into the fire and is completely ruined by year 2... B-)

Yeah this is my opinion, too.

I think 3rd round and after is a good spot to pick up a kid like the QB from NC State and let them sit behind EJ and Tyrod for a year. See if he can beat out Johnson.
