  1. He seems like a good guy.  At the of the day he has major limitations that Mcdermott wanted to move on from.   I agree with the decision.  I think Taylor has enough heart and athletic ability to keep your team competitive. He does not have a diverse enough skill set to win consistently .   Cleveland has a ton of weapons and should be a fun team to watch but if they win for the 7 or 8 games i will be very surprised

  2. they will have the money .  I have looked over the potential free agents and unless something unexpected happens there won't be a ton of guys you would want to throw big money at.  On the other hand with all that money there is no excuse to have any major holes on the team.   They should have league average or better at every position.   The are going to need to straighten out the wide receiver position for sure.   Add a corner and a olineman,( I am interested to see how the interior works out this year, right tackle has been and issue forever)  ,  maybe in the draft.   Decide if hughes should stay or invest in a pass rusher. There should be a couple of very good pass   rushers on the market.  If Allen develops this team is ready to make the players for the next several years.

I'd expect them to start signing their own guys, for one thing.

And then to bring in a bunch of low- and medium-level FAs. Maybe since they have so much one big-ticket guy? Seems a reasonable guess.

agreed.  Benjamin will cost money, If Dawkins progresses he will need to get paid sooner rather than later.  White we have for a few more years without worry

  3. if the kid comes on as fast as White this could be a top 10 Defense this year .

I see him in the middle of the field on 3 and 6 type situation and get very excitedan .  Plus i see him running down the field with Gronk and not looking like a dwarf next to him /

Likely because most teams feel that LBs are a dime a dozen, as usually they're reliant on what the D-line in front of them do and as long as have enough speed and are strong tacklers you can get away with drafting one later than sooner.

whoa    some teams.  In this Defense he is the perfect player.   I agree in other defenses middle linebackers are not valued.

  4. Marrone

Ryan    Mario took a big step down and he lost his safties i wouldn't blame Rex for the defense regressing.  He didn't help or adapt but there were a lot of variables

Dickie j   the team was hard to watch but he got a lot out of very little talent

Chan on the hand Chan's teams didn't win much but they were fun

I thought Tyler Dunne was pretty good but he never really got a chance to write more than a few articles before he left after a year of being basically an intern.  He seemed to have an interesting writing style, and actually wanted to write a feature about getting to know a player (he wrote the sammy article where sammy came off selfish), not just hot takes about who to fire and why everything's on fire.  His opinion's didn't come off as hating the actual team he covered.

The Sammy article totally got taken out of context, and Sammy seemed to blame Tyler on twitter which wasn't fair when its guys like Rodak quoting your article and essentially claiming it as their own.

They both came off that they didn't like the teams that they covered, and didn't seem to cover what was actually happening on the field/ice, so much as arguing about what what doug whaley meant when he said this and when he fired rex, or whatever.  We caught you in a lie! We got you! - so what?

None of it seemed to have anything to do with the actual players, the actual games, etc.

agree 100 percent.  I get it Whaley is not a great public speaker.  He never found a qb but he wasn't a disaster either. He put together an average team that needed a qb.  Bucky and Sully treated him like garage .   I was done with Bucky after the famous " the fans want to know what you do to earn your money"  no we don't , we understand the situation .  The owner fired Rex.

  6. I just signed up for a year .  I give somebody over there credit for having the balls clean out the dead weight.  Tim Should go too but he is not in the sports department.  Vic should stay and they should invest in a good up and coming guy like Tyler Dunne.

Who here is willing to admit that they said they wouldn't never pay $2.99 for the News because of Sully and Bucky, and now are paying it because the News made a good choice and/or listened to its (non) readers.

you can never measure what you lose by not making a change.  You have to go with your gut.  They made the right call.

PFF is good for advanced metrics and stats but it’s grades are useless because you can’t accurately grade a player if you don’t know the play call, line call, route combinations, and individual jobs on the play

    too many variables

big big thumbs up to this and somebody should tell the boys Wgr who think everything can be broken down by data

I was really happy when they added Malachi. He was one of the top WR recruits in the country. At LSU he played with ? QBs. The talent was always there. He’s worth developing.

i think he was a 5th round pick pf the packers and got caught up in a numbers game .   If we drafted him in the 5th round last year and like him it wouldn't be a surprise that he was pushing for serious playing time .  My fingers are crossed that he can be part of the solution .

There should be plenty of money flying around when all of this gambling stuff gets going.  The state will have a huge new revenue stream and I am sure the league and teams will benefit greatly as well.  The league makes BILLIONS every year as it is and the revenue will only keep growing.  It's up to the rich people to figure out a rich people's problem.

gambling and weed the streets should be paved with gold

I think the NFL will be difficult about the stadium.  I have no idea what kind of leverage they have in this situation, but Goodell has raised the stadium issue a number of times and I think NFL may do something to force the issue at some point in the future if no progress is made towards a new stadium or significant upgrade of the current stadium.

i agree.  I think the league can f with you in subtle ways, like when your home games are held, and how your schedule is set up

It's not exactly liquid cash, though, is it?

Can't take an ATM card to a machine and withdraw a billion dollars of team value.

no but you can borrow against it so it is easy to make it liquid.  Plus i don't think you have to worry about the pegs needing cash on hand

Again, I feel like you're going full Mayberry here.

These are billionaires we're talking about here. Hey, you could be right. This could all be philanthropy of a sort. All I'm saying is I kinda doubt it.

With the sale of the Panthers yesterday their investment has already gone way up.  They don't need a stadium that nobody wants to pay for

That's not true It truthfully depends on the type of stadium. If the Bills do a mix of SEA/PIT/DET/IND its about 400-500 million which won't kill ticket prices. You are correct if they do a Vikings/Falcons type billion dollar project.

    500 million seems light.
