Make him a June 1st designation and he can and will be gone. Sometimes you gotta take the short term hit for the long term results. I am praying this is the year he matures, grows up and becomes a leader.
Agreed

so your advocating for an oregon ducks/chip kelly with the eagles type of offense, "the blur"
theres a reason the chip kelly thing failed in Philly
with our "limited depth" wouldn't just be tiring our own players out?
This is a big boys league, trickery and gimmick only gets you so far. You have to have a good offense and defense and special teams, and then you have a shot at consistent winning
Good points.
It would tire all players out.
I once played in an "old man's" (over 40) soccer tourney in the Catskills. It was 7 on 7 with no offsides penalties. I was on defense. All of us were tired, but the people who knew where they were going (offense) had a definite advantage. I'd imagine that this would hold true an just about any sport.
I'm not advocating trickery or gimmickry, just old fashioned football at an accelerated pace.

yea, he's in the same boat at shady, sammy, kyle & marcel
they all have to "earn" it (that's code for just show up healthy)
Marcel better show up in shape.

It's May and here we are speculating about the upcoming season. Here's my take:
We should run a limited huddle offense, similar to the K-Gun. It should be more run oriented, allowing our offensive line the opportunity to smash the opposition, eventually wearing them down. My reasons:
- We have limited depth on all of our skill positions. This means that we should be running with the same players all 3 downs. This type of offense will keep the opposition from changing defenses, nullifying their advantage in depth.
- With the advent of headset radios, plays can be called in from the sideline (except in NE), keeping the quarterback from having to make the calls along with everything he has to do.
- We can quickly sub in the 40 yards between the 30 yard marks, especially at the wideout position. This may prompt the opposition to try, which will either pull them out of position or draw a too many men foul.
- We have exceptional athletes that can handle the pace.
- We were terrible at using the clock the last 2 years. This would sharpen our skills when it came to crunch time in the 4th quarter.
The argument about putting pressure on the defense is there, although I say that the 3 and outs last year did the same.

Cleveland Browns lost a lot of close games last year. The NFL has a lot of games that get decided in the final few minutes. Buffalo still does not have a QB that can throw when they have to throw during this critical time so I expect similar losses late.
It's about the play calling and time management.
Rex's teams never excelled at that

Maybe ST holders will get a glossy pic of Reggie running that reverse. To add too the stunning pic of Moorman punting out of the endzone a few years back.
It wasn't his fault hat the OC called that ridiculous play.

Let's not put the cart in front of the horse.
Brady is the starter this year.

My exact thought as I was reading the OP.
Yep.

The Bills:
"We make you feel good about your ball skills."
-
That's nice...
Seeing that we don't know what is even going to happen tomorrow, this is a lesson in futility.
I remember when we were supposed to win up to 11 games (2 years ago).

There were some intelligent posts.
Most were drivel.
Kind of like here.

Why don't you show us on the doll where Tom Brady touched you?
Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor ... HELL NO!!!
Hey...That's MY line!

The Bills make me want to POUT!

If we picked up Kelly, he'd probably pull a Manziel and party himself almost to death.
He's a young, cocky hometown boy who everyone would LOVE to say that they met and had a drink with....
We should pass on him.

Good read.
Taylor didn't show any growth last season and seemed to regress.
I hope that the coaching change will help him this year.
-
He can't tackle to save his life.
He blames others for his obvious mistakes.
Don't let the door hit you in the a@# on the way out.

Time will tell.

Drew Bledsoe all over again.

1) I agree that they need to keep Taylor, but this should not preclude them from bringing in another potential franchise guy
2) Lots to comment on here, but I'll keep it brief. Compare Gilmore's tackle numbers and coverage stats to the other top-5 corners in the NFL--he's equal or better in each category. To assume that a 6th round pick with very little experience can not only step into his role as the #1 corner, but be worthy of an extension (which the CBA doesn't allow him to get until after the 2018 season) is crazy talk--no offense.
3) The team definitely needs another starting WR, but again, that doesn't preclude them from evaluating the QB. He's leaving plays on the field routinely.
4) Oh stop. Woods may not be a #1, but let's not pretend that he's not a solid player. He'll get more than what's reasonable valuation on the open market, but I'd take him back in a heartbeat if it were at a reasonable rate--he runs crisp routes, has good hands, blocks well, and competes on every snap.
5) Praying is not planning. They need to pick up bodies at safety--they ought to hit the cap casualty market for a guy like Byrd or Bethea.
6) Drafting a QB is a no-brainer if they feel that a guy has franchise potential, but they shouldn't do it just for the sake of doing it. Optimize value--use your picks to get guys that offer long-term impact.
7) What Dareus needs more than anything is sound leadership from his HC
8) No question that they'll be going back to a 43
You mean cut him?
No.
First, he's a very, very good football player.
Second, it would cost the team a $33M cap hit to cut him.
How many downs did the man actually take this season?
IMO, he's not worth the roster spot.
