  1. I think that the team was pacing itself and it was intentional by the coaches. They know it's a long season. And in 2019 and 2020 the team was beat up and burnt out going into the playoffs. They've been doing load management all year. Sure, trying and hoping to win enough games for home field, but treating the regular season as much like preseason as the crucible it is...  with the eye on peaking in the playoffs instead of tearing it up in season and then slogging our way through the playoffs like last year.

Examples: Fan/media take was, why are they running vanilla run plays, splitting carries, and not rushing often. Coaches plan? Devin clearly the better back but let's not wear him out. Let's not get pigeon holed into our best running game early in the season and wear it out.  Let's work on / develop the pass game early in the season with our depth at receiver.

Fan/media take: Why is Sanders getting so many targets, Diggs not being the primary go to guy, and Davis and McKenzie barely even utilized?  Coaches plan? Let's get Allen comfortable with Sanders. Let's work on some passing concepts that we haven't excelled at in the last couple years and let's not show our complete, best passing offense until the playoffs.

  3. I agree.. because it's usually not spontaneous anymore or even emotional really. It's almost mandatory when there's an interception now, to start jogging toward the end zone looking around like, "okay... Are my boys with me? Huh? Huh? We doin this end zone thing? Okay! Yeah, we're doin it, yeah, let's go!"

Duke gave it his best shot in the NFL.

His biggest chance to make it as a WR in the NFL came in the Houston playoff game. He was targeted heavily. He did not live up to the moment, highlighted by his end zone drop that might have changed the outcome of the game.

Alas, if he wants to get meaningful playing time and contribute, his best avenue to do so might be the CFL.

Thanks for giving it your all, Duke. I'll always remember the game-winner against Tennessee. Happy trails to you.

Exactly what I was going to post.  I'm surprised they bothered to keep him after that. Thought it was pretty clear he had reached his potential and it wasn't enough for the Prime Time Bills

I always loved reading the people who stayed positive, but I grew to despise those who were just throwing out "UNDEFEATED + SB WIN!" every year, or would constantly ignore all reality & act like we were annual SB contenders after each draft (as if no other teams were ever improving). I mean c'mon, Dick Jauron, Chan Gailey, Rex Ryan, Mike Mularkey, Doug Marrone... And those QB's man...stop getting mad at people who aren't being homers claiming "SUPER BOWL!" after each game 🤣

I know, it's ok to be excited or stay positive, but I grew overly annoyed when those people would get mad at anyone having realistic expectations for not being supportive or "real fans." It's like I get it, you think Tyrod would be as good as Brady if only X, Y & Z fell into place, but I think he's mediocre!

Whew, I think I just had some residual, pent up frustration I had to vent really quick. My bad, you were not the target good sir! Carry on lol

This is great, I think this is a group therapy session actually, lol. So I wasn't one of the positivity posters but I usually agreed with them. I got really annoyed at the harsh reality posters that said there was something fundamentally wrong with the Bills organization which would not allow them to succeed. I couldn't allow that to be possible because I needed the possibility that any season could be a turnaround. And besides, the organization had been successful in the nineties under Ralph, so why would things have become so drastically irredeemable in just 5 years or so? But it was true... You guys were right... The players really weren't good enough, the composition of the teams was either slapdash or misinformed. The wrong people were in charge over and over again and any improvement was only incremental, not revolutionary... So sad that it truly took Ralph's death for things to begin to truly change.

  6. Honestly Josh Allen cured me of BBFS. McDermott got me help managing the symptoms but Josh cured it. The last time I felt myself slipping into the hole was the Packers game in 2018. Josh had looked brilliant, although unconventional against Minnesota and I was feeling hopeful... I couldn't fully Billieve though, until the quarterback curse was broken. As a BBFS survivor, I'd seen plenty of promising performances followed by slow decline, collapse and failure. That Packers game was brutal. Josh looked completely clueless and hopeless and I could have almost thrown up thinking about what it would mean if that was really the way things were headed. We already saw what a good McDermott team with a poor quarterback could do in Jacksonville. But by the end of the 2018 season I had seen enough of Josh to be convinced he really was different. Before training camp in 2019 I placed a max bet at the casino on the Bills making the playoffs and made out quite well, thanks to the Wrong Josh 😆

  7. Interesting to see though that a rule like "in the grasp" was applied very liberally, at least in this game. Josh Allen would have been sacked last year at least twice as much if the refs called in the grasp the same nowadays. And they also called unnecessary roughness for driving the QB to the ground... And for spearing/ leading with the helmet. And the announcers called it like those defenders made boneheaded plays, not like the refs were too much of  "over officious jerks"

  8. I agree with Cole's live or let die attitude,  but he's still an idiot for not taking a free vaccine.  Billions of people would love to be able to just show up at a corner pharmacy and get protected against this deadly virus like so many other diseases.  A majority of the entire US Population has gotten the freaking shot along with dozens of other vaccines. If you're not an idiot then your children get dozens of vaccines before the age of 5 and have been doing so for generations. The people who refuse to do such a simple common sense thing for themselves and their families are wilfully idiotic. It's not a big freaking deal.

This makes very little sense. You do realize AJ was a second round pick during COVID, didn't get a preseason game snap, had solid starters in front of him AND DE's take a while to develop?  Relax, man, breath. It may be another season or two before we know if AJ will be a solid contributor.

Okay, so in Year 4 at the end of his rookie contract we will know if he was worth a roster spot for four years.  Good thing we don't treat all our players with such deference,  lol

I know I'm overreacting,  there are very few areas of concern on the team to discuss! And I forget he was only just a rookie last year

Why are you “concerned” over an improvement?

Because it makes it sound like he has way further to go in his improvement than I previously thought.  Let's just be honest,  he is not on the standard player development trajectory.  He went from too heavy,  to too light,  and now hopefully just right,  but he has to get used to it... it's not the straight and direct path you'd like to see... so it's concerning

  11. Article is misleading... Dion didn't bring up AJ, the reporter specifically asked him to comment on AJ... And my take on Dion's commentary left me more concerned than impressed... he said he no longer feels like a "feather" - okay concerning that he ever was a "feather"... and generally it sounded more like he's starting over with a new body... and feels more like playing a normal NFL player now...

  12. The melodrama around this Ertz trade has been really annoying and,  frankly embarrassing to the professionals involved who... if this were the routine with every freakin transaction,  could not reasonably operate in such an environment and keep their cool/ sanity... The leaks have to be on the Philly side.  We just haven't seen this kind of BS from Beane's shop. I know as a fan I should be glad I've been getting a scoop on this for three months,  but it's actually really not a satisfying experience,  lol

There was for some reason a fear of showing/admitting that our WRs were banged up, even though all of our opponents knew it, not sure of the logic that SM & BD applied about the WR situation, they weren’t fooling anyone.

I suspect that the coaches involved knew that they did not have a workable “plan B”, which mostly points to poor planning / use / implementation of available resources.

What this says is that “We Don’t Trust You” To the rest of the receivers room, and that certainly is not a good look if you’re the future/current number four and deeper on the depth chart.

One would hope that SM & BD have learned from this misstep, and have a “plan B” available for the upcoming season.  That said, it was a very good season overall for the Bills, and they can certainly hold their heads up high as reigning Division Champions.

Anyways, on to watching the next iteration of the Buffalo Bills form right in front of us, should be fun and frustrating all at the same time 😁👍

    Go Bills!!!

Well, they tried the alternative approach in 2019 -- elevate guys like Duke Williams who have been working hard all year and give them a big role in the playoffs....    how did that go?

Unfortunately theur actually weren't herds of buffalo in Western New York lol

Actually....  The 230-acre Rush Oak Openings Unique Area in Monroe County features the globally rare plant community commonly referred to as an "oak opening" or "oak savannah". This site is the only known intact oak opening remaining in New York State. Oak openings were very common in the Midwest (where the prairie met eastern forests) prior to European settlement.  Rush Oak Openings Unique Area - NYS Dept. of Environmental Conservation
