  1. First, looking at the offensive line from the end of last season... they played well and because of that, as a result of that good play, it gave Beane a solid reason to go with some of the same players. Some were injured, some regressed and some new players didn't live up to their contracts. Stuff happens! Beane gave the OC job to the QB coach because that is what his franchise QB asked for and wanted. Ken Dorsey had been the Buffalo Bills QB coach since 2019. Not for nothing that Buffalo's offense finished the season #2 overall on offense. That equals Brian Daboll's 2020 best season as Buffalo OC. I'd say that's pretty darn good for a first-year OC. Would the team have done better had Brian Daboll stayed as OC, perhaps? So, no excuse is needed here. The Buffalo team fell flat against the Bengals and now almost every Buffalo Bills fan is pointing fingers everywhere, at everyone. Yes, it sucks they lost in the playoffs again, at home, by a wide margin. Nobody saw this coming. Not with the team that was expected to be in the SB this season by almost everyone. I'm pretty certain that the Buffalo HC and GM themselves are still searching for answers as to why the team lost focus for the biggest home game of the season. Some say it was from being emotionally drained by the circumstances surrounding Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin. Probably because nobody in the entire history of the NFL had to endure almost losing a teammate to cardiac arrest on...the...field...during...a...game. Another thing I'm certain of is...that those men will make improvements to the team and Buffalo will be right back in the hunt for 2023. I'm moving on and looking forward to the draft, free agency, and the new upcoming season. Buffalo has one of the very best young QBs in the league and that SB window should be open for a long time!
  2. This last playoff exit has everyone in an uproar because of that 27-10 beatdown by the Bengals at Buffalo. Most fans were shocked at that outcome and vented quite a bit in this forum...justifiably too. I know I wasn't happy about it and was scratching my head over that loss. The game just got out of hand early. Last year at 11-6 that playoff game in KC set the football world a fire because of the explosive offense by both teams...with some talking about the greatest playoff game ever! You simply can't say that a 36-42 loss in OT in 2021... that Buffalo was destroyed. That 13 seconds screwup by the defense was a major letdown and probably cost Bills DC Leslie Frazier a head coaching job with a different team. I've always disliked that prevent defense and even McD was screaming about when he saw it. Bottom line: Buffalo lost their premier pass rusher in Von Miller and just couldn't get pressure on Joe Burrow. Joe does have a quick release and can get the ball out in 2 seconds or so at times. His average time from snap to release average was 2.54 and recently quickened that to 2.41 by the end of the season. The Bengals do have good offensive minds in HC Zac Taylor along with OC Brian Callahan and they worked to get the Bengals offense schemed to get the ball out quicker. Let's not forget that while Buffalo did have the #2 overall offense this season...they also had a rookie OC calling plays. It showed at different times. Losing Bills OC Brian Daboll did hurt the offense. Although Ken Dorsey is a smart guy and he was Josh Allen's choice for OC. Allen is a pretty smart guy too and together they will work things out. Even without out their best pass rusher the Buffalo Bills still finished 13-3, and #2 in defensive points allowed, #6 in yards defensive allowed in 2022. I think this Buffalo brain trust realizes that they need stronger O line, run game. Better defensive line too. I have faith that this HC / GM will find the right players to be on top of the AFC east again for 2023. Let's see what happens.
  3. I'm not happy with just making the playoffs or just going 13-3. Which BTW is pretty damn good. Look at the season. The Chiefs just won the super bowl for the 2nd time in 4 years and have been to the SB in 3 of the last 4. they are the ELITE cream of the AFC and NFL this season. That fearsome Eagles front four on their defense wrecked havoc all season and led the NFL in defensive sacks and takeaways. Yet, The Eagles sacked Patrick Mahomes 0 times in the SB! yes...zero sacks! and managed only 5 QB hits on a hobbled Mahomes. The Buffalo Bills played the Kansas City Chiefs in week 6 of the 2022 season, AT KC. Buffalo won the game, Sacked him 3x, hit him 9x and intercepted a non hobbled Mahomes 2x. A healthy Von Miller would have made a huge difference in that Cincy game and perhaps Buffalo is in the SB instead. A rookie OC, Now think back to how Daboll looked in his first year as Bills OC. He had Peterman out there over Allen. My point here is the HC and GM are taking the blame for how the season ended and yet they can't control the injuries. The changes, distractions, trials, tribulations of the entire season. So many bad things happened over the course of this season and yet...13-3...and a shot.
  4. Here is the thing. Point one! Now, think about what the 2022 season would have been like had OC Brian Daboll had stayed. That offense that allowed Allen to be perfect in the playoffs last year, destroying the Patriots 47-17. So awesome to see that! (I wanted Frazier gone also. Alas, so many Bills fans just can't seem to let that 13 seconds go.) Look at what the team did this season with so many injuries, amazing job. Point two! Now, think if Von Miller hadn't suffered a season ending injury as did Micha Hyde. Plus, all the various injuries to so many players throughout the season. Losing the new slot WR Crowder so early in the season. Von Miller was brought in to be a closer and he still had 8 sacks in 11 games. Imagine what havoc he would have brought had he stayed healthy! Point three! The snowstorms! A Buffalo player having a heart attack on the field during a game and the HC knowing exactly the right thing to do in that situation. Lastly, the players seem to lose focus for that Bengals game. I don't know why? Both the lines played poorly in the biggest home game of the season. Again, I don't know why? With... all... those... troubles the team still went 13-3! The Buffalo offense that was #2 overall in the league only scored 10 points against the Bengals. A rookie OC? I look at this HC and GM and I know that they know what to do to fix the team. I have faith that these men are the right men for the job in Buffalo.
  5. Seriously! It is ridiculous to think that some Bills fans think that a wave of the hand finds a new HC like an offensive genius in Andy Reid. Buffalo has a tough task to beat the Chiefs to get homefield and now the Bengals are up there too. The 2022 Buffalo Bills faced many difficulties this season. snowstorms that caused a home game to be played in Detroit...Bills players needing help to be dug out of snow just to get to the airport...having to wait to be able to go home because of all the snow...a Buffalo Bills player having literal heart attack on the field during a game...so many injuries during the season. Losing their top pass rusher in Von Miller was a huge letdown for the defense and it really showed up in their last game against the Bengals. Needing to start a rookie corner who was in and out of the lineups due to injuries. So many variations of DBs playing in different games and yet that Buffalo defense still came in 2nd in points allowed, #6 in yards allowed against some very good teams while losing only 3 games all season. For the love of god doesn't anyone recall what it was like with the likes Dick Jauron, Chan Gailey, Saint Doug, Wrex Ryan, Mike Mularky, Gregg Williams...so much losing! Buffalo finally found a GM / HC that are as good as (if not better) then Marv Levy, Bill Polian and it seems like so many Bills fans are constantly complaining. Only difference is McD and Beane didn't inherit a HoF QB in Kelly, HoF pass rusher in Bruce Smith. They have needed to draft players late in the draft. These men are first timers at their respective jobs and I have no problem in allowing them time to build the team. McD has been the Buffalo HC and the Bills have been in the playoffs 5 of those 6 seasons. Won the division 3 years in a row now. Yes, the 2022 Buffalo Bills were preseason favorites to win the SB. Ya know what? STUFF happens and those were things that the GM, HC can't control. McD was 4th in the coach of the year voting for a real reason. Bills fans need to stop thinking about changing the best HC/GM this franchise has seen since the 1990's. Start thinking about who they can draft, find free agents to help the team for 2023. JMO
  6. What a clown the guy is! He had the #1 pass rushing D line in Buffalo and decided to have them eat blocks or drop into pass coverage so the crappy LBers could rush. It's his way or bust... My take of him in Buffalo was in that first game he destroyed the Colts and then might have suddenly realized he is no longer the Jets HC.
  7. The 2022 NFL team with the best pass rush win rate were the Philly Eagles with 52%. That fearsome Eagle front four were monsters most of the season. The Chiefs didn't allow a single sack on a hobbled Patrick Mahomes in the SB! Buffalo played KC in week 6 this past year and sacked a non hobbled Mahomes 3x, and intercepted him 2x...and beat them at Kansas City! To the Bills fans wanting McD gone...you clearly are oblivious to what's good or bad! 13-3, won the division for the third straight season. Playoffs again! Last season the Bills had the #1 overall defense. This season they were #2 in points allowed, #6 in yards allowed despite all the injuries to key starters. Yes, it still stings in losing 27-10 to the Cincinnati Bengals AT home in the playoffs for the 2022 season. However, In the 2021 season week 10, Buffalo lost to the Indy Colts at home 41-15 and I was livid about that loss too. The Bills went out and beefed up their D line and went from bring 13th in rush yards allowed, 26 TDs allowed in 2021 to #5 in rush yards allowed and 7 TDs in 2022. Big improvement! It was clear that losing Von Miller for the season was a huge reason the Bills didn't get much pressure on Joe Burrow, despite the injuries to their O line players. Buffalo only had 3 QB hits on Burrow all game and only one sack by Matt Milano. The Bills need more than one top edge rusher and it might have been wiser to keep Jerry Hughes. The old adage, on any given Sunday. The Buffalo Bills lost focus in that Cincy game, coaches and players. Stuff happens, I'm moving on to the 2023 season.
  8. This GM, HC have already proven they can fix what's wrong. Last year (2021) the Buffalo run defense was bad and they corrected it, #13 in rush yards allowed to #5. Last year 26 rushing TDs, this year 7 rush TDs! The GM saw that the O line played pretty good at the end of last season so he retained a lot of them...they regressed with a supposed better O line coach. Not his fault. Now, they both (Buffalo GM,HC) saw what we all saw, in that both lines played poorly against the Bengals and not having Von Miller out there was a real problem for the Buffalo pass rush. No pressure on the Cincy QB and Buffalo QB Josh Allen was under pressure all game. I trust that they understand what the problems are and will work to fix them. A better O line, run game, and another pass rusher JIC. The WR corps should be fine if Allen has time in the pocket. If he doesn't the 2nd year OC should work to setup a plan B to get the ball out quicker along with a decent run game. Have some faith.
  9. WHAT? No other brilliant choices to replace the DC, or HC? C'MON folks, don't give up now! With the leagues most fearsome front four...only 5 QB hits on Mahomes all game, no sacks, no INTs. THEY LOST!!!! Now, they should FIRE EVERYONE...right? DC needs to go, OC needs to go, HC needs to go! So what that they were 14-3 in the 2022 season...they lost the SB! Philly fans are probably bleating like stuck sheep now. Philly had the #3 overall offense. #8 defense in points allowed, #2 in yards allowed. The Eagles coaches were out coached and the players out played...stuff happens
  10. Wrex Ryan...as he just interviewed for the Broncos DC job! Nobody can screw up a good 4-3 like that guy! The 2022 NFL team with the best pass rush win rate were the Philly Eagles with 52%. Last season the Bills had the #1 overall defense. This season they were #2 in points allowed, #6 in yards allowed despite all the injuries to key starters. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/34536376/2022-nfl-pass-rushing-run-stopping-blocking-leaderboard-win-rate-rankings-top-players-teams To the Bills GM, build a better O line!
  11. Well said! Hey man, nobody was more pissed off about those 13 seconds than I was. I wanted Frazier gone last year. McD kept Frazier and look at the result. This season the defense was sort of decimated by losing Micah Hyde, Von Miller among other injuries to various players. Needing to trade for safety Dean Marlow midseason and I'll bet there were talks about trading for Jerry Hughes too. Buffalo defense in 2022, #2 in points allowed, #6 in yards allowed is pretty darn good considering all those injuries and losing their best pass rusher. Von had 8 sacks in 11 games. How many times after a game did Josh Allen mention that the Buffalo defense bailed him out, a dozen? As you point out about McD, who would replace him and do as well without a complete turnover in player personnel? As it is, it is McD's scheme and nobody knows it better than Frazier. I've also read that McD wasn't happy about anything that happened with those 13 seconds. The Kickoff, the prevent defense and he was screaming about the latter. What most Bills fans complaining here just don't seem to comprehend there is no miracle hire that would improve this team at this point. Fans talk about an offensive mind...WHO? It took Andy Reid 7 seasons to get to a SB with the Chiefs and he was an already SB proven HC. Look at what this team went through this season, Blizzards, 80 inches of snow that snowed them in so Bills fans were needed to help them dig out just to get to the airport, made the team play a home game in a different city. A multitude of injuries, QB elbow, losing best pass rusher, losing a starting Safety. Losing Dawson Knox's younger brother. That game in Miami in which the team was in 110 degree heat with no coolers. A literal heart attack on the field and this HC knew exactly what to do. The entire team fell on its face against the Bengals, offense, defense, coaches...fire everyone? Sean McDermott came in 4th in the coach of the year voting for a real reason. If McD were fired, he would be rehired by some team in 13 seconds, no joke. Bills fans would really be crying then. I'm just so glad that Bills fans have no vote in what happens with players, coaches, office people.
  12. What are you talking about? Buffalo beat both Indianapolis and Baltimore IN the playoffs in 2020 2x playoff WINS! In 2021 Buffalo stomped the hated NE Patriots in the playoffs 41-17. playoff WIN! In 2022 Buffalo beat hated rival Miami Dolphins in the playoffs 31-34. Playoff WIN! Looks to me like Buffalo advanced three years in a row in the playoffs! Three time AFC EAST division Champs! Yes, they lost to the Chiefs 2x and the Bengals in the playoffs. Buffalo has beaten the Chiefs in the regular season 2x now the last two years. This HC, GM are working on beating the teams they need to beat in the playoffs. Buffalo had some unfortunate bad luck in losing Von Miller to a season ending injury or they might be in the SB this year. I get it, Buffalo Bills fans are upset because they were the AFC favorites to be in the SB this year. Stuff happens, injuries to the star QB, pass rusher, sickness, snowstorms. Rookie OC who managed to tie the last OCs best record at #2 overall offense in 2022. This franchise has had one of the very best offenses and defenses for a few seasons now. I trust the GM, HC to get this team to a SB very soon.
  13. It wasn't JUST coaching as it was a complete team letdown, Buffalo players on both sides of the ball outplayed. Little or no pass rush, couldn't keep the Bengals D off Allen. Like BADOBILZ said... Pretty GD good comparison if ya asked me. That is, to be compared to a HC who didn't get his team to a SB until his seventh season and has won one and been there 3x now. The Chiefs were 2-14 the year before Reid got to KC so he had a shot at first overall pick...and who did he draft #1 overall? An offensive linemen in LT Eric Fisher who was with the Chiefs for 8 years. Read BADO's post his above, this GM and HC were both first timers in their respective jobs in Buffalo and are still leaning as they go. These men have been leaning/depending on Allen's arm far too much and see when he has an off day the offense falters big time. I think they both see that now and will work to build a better O line, run game to help that young QB. Have some freaking faith willya!
  14. History has shown us Bills fans that this GM and HC will make the needed changes to improve the team. Like last season in getting run on and they went and beefed up the D line. Beane went all out for a pass rusher that could have made a huge impact in the playoffs, and a season ending injury derailed that. 8 sacks in 11 games! They saw what we all saw, that the offensive line wasn't nearly good enough. The pass rush without Von wasn't good enough. The secondary with all the injuries wasn't good enough. The run game wasn't good enough. WR corps wasn't good enough and probably why they let the WR's coach leave. I have faith that this GM, HC will get this done.
  15. Its the same thing all season in the game day forum when the team starts to play poorly... the Bills fan complaining gets to ridiculous proportions at times. So much negativity pointed at everyone. We have arguably one of the very best QBs in the league and when he throws an INT he is suddenly trash. 13-3 with one of the best seasons in the NFL and it seems like most fans want to blow everything up like Wrex Ryan was still here. Fire the GM, fire the HC, fire the DC, fire the OC. Trade away top players... It makes me wonder if these are really Bills fans posting or other teams fans attempting to stir stuff up. Jets, Dolphins, Patriots fans are seriously not happy Buffalo has won the division three years in a row now. AND, unless those three team suddenly all find a top QB they won't be winning the division any time soon. We have Josh Allen, just keep smiling!
  16. Josh Allen wanted Ken Dorsey...whatever the franchise QB wants... Yea, Dorsey will learn just like Daboll learned. Remember his first season? Still, the Buffalo Bills were the #2 offense this season. Bills fans just can't seem to get over the fact that they had a huge letdown against the Bengals on both sides of the ball. It is a game of emotion and all I can think of is the players were spent emotionally to play that down...at home...in the playoffs! Perhaps the coaches were too. It was a very difficult season. Beane and McD will figure things out, I have faith!
  17. Good for him. NY is a tough place to be a HC.
  18. What is wrong with you people? 13-3 with the #2 offense, #2 defense points allowed, #6 in yards allowed after being riddled by injures not good enough? So, the team lost in the playoffs...get over it already!
  19. While I agree with so much of what was said about getting rid of Leslie Frazier and looking at his defensive philosophy/scheme. I literally hate that bend but don't break scheme. That Indy Colts game last season 41-15 loss! So, Beane went out and reinforced that Buffalo run defense for 2022...it worked! Although, I can see why McD isn't making a change to his DC just yet. This team just went 13-3 on a very, very difficult season with all the adversity this team faced, key injuries, sickness, snowstorms, heart attack on the field. That Buffalo defense finished #2 in points allowed, #6 in yards allowed in 2022. I can't recall how many times this past season that QB Josh Allen had stated that the Buffalo defense bailed him out of games. The simple truth is that the Buffalo Bills still field one of the best defenses in the NFL. Only four teams scored more than 25 points on Buffalo all season despite all the adversity, injuries to key players. Starting rookies at CB. Needing to trade for Dean Marlow during the season to bolster that secondary. I can only think that Beane was probably in talks with the Texans about reacquiring Jerry Hughes too. So, McD doesn't offer Frazier a new contract. Who is he supposed to hire that would run his defense better? BIG QUESTION, WHO? Right now the only teams that give the Buffalo defense real problems this past season were the Dolphins 19-21 loss (which was more of an offensive failure) Miami 32-29 win. Miami 34-31 win. (This was against backup QB Skylar Thompson, rookie 7th round pick) Scary stuff that the Dolphins have the Buffalo defense figured out now! The other teams are the Chiefs with their elite QB and genius HC, along with the very best TE in the game. (We don't know what would have happened this season in the playoffs against KC because it never happened.) That final game of the season in a 27-10 loss to the Bengals was an over team failure that can only be explained by the thought that the players were emotionally spent. Everything went south, Buffalo both lines. The Bengals came out and made two TD drives in the first quarter that tore the soul out of the team and they never recovered. With no pass rush or pressure on Joe Burrow he did what he wanted. This game was supposed to be about how injury depleted that Bengals were on their O line and yet their backups out played the Buffalo starters. Very, very frustrating for so many Buffalo Bills fans to see that beatdown at HOME in a playoff game. Sort of reminiscent of that 41-10 Colts loss at home last season in which the team had no answer on offense or defense. That 2021 Colts game was a team failure and so was this Bengal game. Stuff happens...no Buffalo fan, player, coach, owner is happy about it! Bills fans have their pitchforks and torches out ready to burn down everything...which helps nothing! This franchise has the very best players, coaching staff, GM that I've seen in my lifetime! This team wasn't built on back to back 2-14 seasons like the 90's teams were. No #1 draft pick overall in Bruce Smith to be had for this team. QB Jim Kelly was actually the second first round pick as TE Tony Hunter was the first, first round pick that year. My point here is that while I'm not happy with the current Buffalo DC and scheme. Hiring someone new might disrupt the entire scheme forcing the team to start drafting different players to fit any new scheme. (remember Wrex Ryan who ruined the leagues #1 pass rush?) Besides, who is out there to hire that would be a better fit then the guy who had the #1 overall defense last season and a top 5 defense this season despite all the adversity? Like Bills GM Brandon Beane fixing that 2021 defense and making them better against the run for 2022. I'm trusting that he and McD will find a way to upgrade to defense to contend with Joe Burrow, Patrick Mahomes and their respective teams. (also the Dolphins) Upgrading that Buffalo offensive line and finding a stout run game to work when the QB is having an off day. Beane has his work cut out for him this offseason. P.S. My hope is that somehow Beane finds a way to get several pass rushers for the 2023 defense so that in the next playoffs... Mahomes is running like a chicken with his head cut off like he was against the Bucs in which the SB the Chiefs lost. Or the pressure that Burrow was under, 7x sacks by the Rams in the Bengals SB loss. The Buffalo Bills losing Von Miller to a season ending injury basically ended their season too. Relax guys!
  20. And who masterfully traded up to the #7 spot in the 2018 draft to draft Josh Allen? The very best player in the 2018 NFL draft! And who masterfully traded away a #1 pick to obtain WR Stephon Diggs... when the Vikings said they wouldn't trade him? This franchise had the #1 overall defense last season and its been pretty darn good since McD got to Buffalo. #2 in points allowed in 2019, #3 in yards allowed. #2 in points allowed, #6 in yards allowed this season... even with all the adversity! Exactly how many teams have managed to beat the KC Chiefs the last few years? The very best team in the NFL the last few seasons. You know, the team that won the SB in 2019, that went back to the SB in 2020 and is again in the SB this season! Yeah, that's right Buffalo beat them 2x in the regular season in 2021, 2022. This HC went to the playoffs with TYROD TAYLOR at QB! Anyone else do that with that QB? So, don't tell me that this would be a 7-10 team without Josh Allen! YES, they lean and depend on him more than they should. Former Bills OC Brian Daboll put a saddle on Josh and rode him to being the New HC of the NY Giants. Looks like new Buffalo OC Ken Dorsey is attempting to do the very same thing. Any team going 13-3 with all the adversity this team faced this season was doing something right. The #2 offense in points scored, the #2 offense in yards...that is better than most years with Daboll and equaled his best season as Buffalo OC in 2020. The defense #2 in points allowed, #6 in yards allowed after so many devastating injuries to the starters would decimate other teams. Yes, the 2022 Buffalo Bills were SMOKED by the Cincinnati Bengals 27-10 in a playoff game IN Buffalo. Trust me, I'm not at all happy about it either! the Bengals also knocked off the KC Chiefs in their home in the AFC Championship game last season to go to the SB. Lost this season to the Chiefs in the Championship game. This happens to be super ELITE talented teams that the Buffalo Bills have faced in the playoffs, (save Texans with Watson in 2019). KC in 2020, KC in 2021, Cincy in 2022. What team built their SB team in half the time as the Chiefs took 7 years under Reid to get to the big dance. The Bengals went 2-14 in 2019 under new HC Zac Taylor. They went 4-11 in 2020 and drafted Joe Burrow and Tee Higgins #1 overall, #33. Then drafted Ja'Marr Chase in 2021. So they went to the SB in four years under Taylor because of their previous crappy season records. Buffalo managed to build their team drafting near last every year. The Bucs did it with the GOAT in 2020 and what happened this season 8-9? The Rams went to the SB in McVay's 2nd year and won the SB in McVay's 5th season by going all out for talent as they gave up a #2 pick to Denver for Von Miller. Buffalo gave up no draft picks for him. Philly had just won a SB in 2017 and had been in the playoffs recently 2018, 2019, 2021 and pulled a Rams this season by going after some highly touted veterans, 13 free agents signed from other teams including Suh, Reddick. In 2022, My take is the Buffalo Bills desperately needed that bye week badly and didn't get it. They were emotionally spent after seeing a fellow player fall on the field from a heart attack (among other things). The Bengals showed the Bills their flaws in being dominated on both sides of the line along with little or no pass rush. Josh had no time to throw and with no run game or attempt to build a run attack it put everything on Josh. Let's face it, the Bengals out played and out coached the Buffalo Bills this game. For myself, I have faith that this GM, HC with figure things out for the 2023 season, get the coaches, players focused and on the right track for a SB run.
  21. Bills fans have have recently shown me that most have no patience for building a SB team. Todays society wants instant gratification...like a drive up window type service. They see other teams like the Rams & Bucs build it quick and win it all and want the same. They are anomalies and not the norm! THE most successful NFL franchise the last 15-20 years has been our hated enemy the New England Patriots. The current had the NFLs best HC and HAD the NFL's GOAT at QB. Since losing Brady they haven't won much since and he won a SB with the Bucs. Second best team has been the Kansas City Chiefs, 162 games, 117 wins, 45 losses. Their HC Andy Reid had built a playoff team in his first season going from a 2-14 season without to an 11-5 with. Let's face it, the man knew who to hire as his assistant coaches and how to build a disciplined team. He managed that with QB Alex Smith.(who Buffalo also went after at the time). Reid realized that Smith was just a game manager and wasn't going to get him to the big dance. Hence he traded up with Buffalo to get Patrick Mahomes, a player that wasn't graded very highly and was from an "air raid" scheme. Mahomes was like 4th rated behind Trubisky, Kizer, Watson. You know who was rated 6th, Nathan Peterman. It took SEVEN years for Reid to take his KC Chiefs to the SB and this was with an experienced HC who was a 14 year winning HC with the Philadelphia Eagles. In which it took him SIX years to get his Eagles into a SB with McNabb at QB... they lost to NE 21-24 in 2004. (You know who his ST's coach was that season?) Reid is basically an offensive genius with currently one of the best young QB's in the league. It takes time and some good fortune to get a team to the SB. Bills fans forget that this is Brandon Beane's, McD's first time at GM, HC and they are still learning as they go. Hopefully now they have learned that they need a much, much better offensive line and a better pass rush. More than one top pass rusher too. (Probably should have found a way to keep Jerry Hughes) I have faith that these men can get the job done for the Buffalo Bills. 13-3 with all the freakin adversity that this team faced this season is nothing short of brilliant IMHO. Injuries, sickness, snowstorms, blizzards a home game in a different city. A HEART ATTACK on the field during a game and the HC knew the right thing to do. These are some great men this franchise has running it and Bills fans should just stop with all this negative crap!
  22. I honestly can't stand this bend but don't break defense. But, what was the guy supposed to do against a top flight offense with little or no pass rush...no matter how much you rotate the players. The secondary was also weak without Hyde and so many subs in at CB, safety. Starting a rookie CB and an injured Safety in Poyer. Injuries and inexperience killed this defense this season...and coaching. Who would have thought that ken Dorsey would end up running the ball less than Daboll...who some of us were complaining in previous years that he didn't run enough and change was needed. I just don't get why any OC who sees that his QB isn't getting it done at the time refuses to change things up to help out the QB. It's like Daboll never left and we saw the 2018 version all over again. Only 19 rushes for 64 yards against Cincy and Josh had 8 of those. So, the Bills RBs saw 11 rush attempts all game. Singletary was getting 2.5 yards before contact and Cook 1.6...which means the Buffalo O line was getting owned. Still, end arounds, misdirection, screens, toss sweeps to make those D linemen run sideline to sideline to wear them out. Just keep throwing, just keep throwing...and keep the pressure on the QB.
  23. According to PFF, the Bills ended up having the 23rd best offensive line in the NFL last season. Not the best finish, and it’s not the best look considering the year prior. Buffalo dropped two spots from their final rating at No. 21 at the end of the 2021 season. https://billswire.usatoday.com/2023/02/02/pro-football-focus-buffalo-bills-offensive-line-rankings-dion-dawkins-mitch-morse/ The counter argument is that this move would leave the right guard spot open next to another struggling offensive lineman in second-year right tackle Spencer Brown. Brown was neck-and-neck with Saffold in pressures allowed in 2022 (Brown had 29) and gave up a whopping nine quarterback hits — most on the team by over double, despite only playing in 14 games. Putting a new face next to him in what will be a pivotal year might not be the best thing for his development. https://www.buffalorumblings.com/2023/2/2/23582156/buffalo-bills-2023-offseason-team-needs-guard-rodger-saffold-ryan-bates The Bills need to go all out in rebuilding that O line...whatever it takes!
  24. Some Bills fans complaining about not reaching the SB. Yet, this team just went went 13-3 this season!! In McD's six seasons as Buffalo Bills HC this team has been to the playoffs 5 of those 6 years. (Once with Tyrod Taylor at QB!) 9-7, 6-10, 13-3, 11-6, 13-3. McD is considered one of the best head coaches in the NFL. Bills GM Brandon Beane is considered by some to be the very best of the best in NFL GM's. Yet, I read over and over how some Bills fans want them both gone or replaced? By who? Chiefs HC Andy Reid is the biggest reason the Chiefs seem to always have a shot. In the ten years he has been there they have never had a losing season and have been in the playoffs nine of those ten seasons. Five of those seasons were with Alex Smith at QB. Reid is an offensive genius, won a SB and yet was smoked in the next SB by a swarming Buc's defense. With the Chiefs, the players change and the winning continues. Buffalo HC seems to be locked into Leslie Frazier's bend but don't break defense. Somehow whomever this team hires as an OC can't seem to build a decent ground game without involving the QB as the leading rusher. So, I'm not happy with either of the Buffalo Bills coordinators at this point. Although, let's look at what the offenses / defenses have looked like the last few seasons. 2023, record 13-3 AFC East Champs 2023, offense #2 in points for, #2 in yards. 8th in passing attempts, 7th in passing yards, #2 in passing TDs. #15th in rush attempts,7th in rush yards, 15th in rush TDs. 2023, defense #2 in points allowed, #6 in yards allowed. 2022 record 11-6 AFC East Champs 2022, offense #3 in points, #5 in yards. QB Josh Allen playing perfect games in the playoffs! 2022, defense #1 in points allowed, #1 in yards allowed. 2021 record 13-3 AFC East Champs 2020, offense #2 in points, #2 in yards. 2020, defense #16 in points allowed, #14 in yards allowed 2019 record 10-6 AFC East Champs 2019, offense #23 in points, #24 in yards 2019, defense #2 in points allowed, #4 in yards allowed Considering the trials this team endured this season. So many injuries to key players on defense and offense. Josh with a bad elbow. The deadly Blizzard that caused so many problems besides needing to play a home game at Detroit. Cardiac arrest on the field where a Buffalo player nearly died. The Bills losing their star pass rusher for the season. Yeah, i can see where the emotions were drained at the end of the season. Amazing stuff dealing with all that and more. Now, consider that Andy Reid didn't get his Chiefs to the SB until his 7th season. I'd say Bills fans should give these Buffalo Bills coaches / GM some more time to do their jobs. I kind of think that they feel the losses just as badly as Bills fans do and perhaps even more because they see it in the players faces. After nearly two decades of being of missing the playoffs and being at the bottom or near last in the division... I know I'm ready to sit back and let Beane do his magic with the draft and free agency. Let McD get his team ready for 2023. All I want for the new season is a better offensive line, an actual dominant run game like the 49ers, Eagles have. If I could do one thing...it might be to hire ex Ravens OC Greg Roman to be the new Buffalo run game coordinator to help build that O line and run game. Or someone else to help keep Josh in the pocket and let the RBs take the pounding. (yea, I know Josh hurt his elbow in the pocket) So, build him a better pocket! JMHO
  25. The Bills were outcoached and out played by the Bengals at HOME in their last game. No excuses, 27-10 was a beatdown by a team that showed big holes in the Bills O line, D line and secondary. The team was "Gassed"...for the most important home game in years? Buffalo with almost no run game, 11 rushes for 38 yards by Bills RB's. Josh had 8 for 26 with a total for 19 rushes for 64 yards. A 3.4 YPC AVG. Far, far too much pressure on the Buffalo QB to make the offense work. Look at Tom Brady (the GOAT) in his last game with little or no run game and a crappy O line...look familiar? Even his super fast release didn't save him. Now, the Dolphins got better with their new DC hire. The Patriots got better with their new OC hire. The Jets might have gotten worse with their new OC hire...unless it draws Aaron Rodgers to them. All three division rivals have lesser QB's ATM. Now these teams have learned that the more pressure on Allen while containing him is their way to beat Buffalo. The Dolphins almost beat Buffalo with a backup to the backup to the backup QB. 31-34 with 7th round pick Skylar Thompson. Both the Eagles and 49ers showed that you can win with a tough nosed run game and defense as long as you have a somewhat decent QB. Buffalo has IMO the very best QB in the league and yet demand from him more then he can handle at times. We all saw what Josh can do at the end of 2022 with a somewhat decent run attack and O line protecting him, unstoppable! Beane needs to go all out to building that Buffalo offensive line into a top unit. Suddenly they might find that the WR's, TE's, RB's on the roster are good enough. Give the best QB in the league better protection and build a decent ground game so he doesn't need to carry the team all the time. Gonna be a long season if Buffalo doesn't greatly upgrade that line.
