Kiper just said on radio that it would be a huge mistake to throw Allen out there in Baltimore and he expects them to start Peterman since he’s at least started and prepared for actual nfl defenses before. He loves Allen but noted he’s not seen anything yet like he willl see in the regular season when it comes to defenses. He indicated that behind that OL he could be ruined early on from a confidence standpoint.
In the next breath he expects Darnold to start.
I don't think it's too contradictory. Allen would face the Ravens and Chargers, two of the best defenses to start while Darnold would match up against the Lions and the Suh-less Dolphins, so I see his point.

Is it me, or has there been an increase in achilles injuries in the NFL?
Seems like it, along with more and more first round picks missing their rookie seasons to injuries. Hope he recovers.

I love it! Trash talk in football is so much fun. Having the majority of players now talking to the media like they're interviewing for a country club membership is bad for the game. I think a major reason why NHL ratings are so rancid is because of how bland and boring the personality of the stars are (outside of Ovie and Sean Avery 10 years ago). That said, I hope Allen goes 158.3 when targeting him in November.

2nd and 3rd places are the most debatable.
My brain thinks this.

Overall, not a strong division. But the entire AFC isn't strong either, so...
But this seems more likely. The Chargers have won the AFC West every off-season since Manning retired and I fall for it every year.

I like Brigdewater, so I don't want this to happen as it means he'll get injured again. The 3 guarantees in life are 1) Death 2) Taxes 3) Fitzpatrick starts a number of games as a backup.

Maybe they'll cut him to make room for Khalil Mack, when they give away the store for him <sarcasm>.
If Beane can't orchestrate a straight up Mack for Washington trade we should cut our losses and bring back Buddy Nix!

Win Division: Vikings
Goes further in the playoffs: Packers
-
-Deshuan Watson is the league MVP.
-Mike McCarthy is fired from the Packers.
-AFC West is the worst division in the league.

I forgot he got suspended. That was bull ****.
On another note, the Steelers tried trading him ...
The Steelers have begun contacting teams about trading a top-10 pick for Roethlisberger, an NFL source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. The Steelers have called the Rams, 49ers, Raiders, Bills, Jaguars, Seahawks and Browns, the source said. The Rams and Bills are known to be not interested, the source said.

Phew. We almost had a HOF QB, there. Good job, Russ!!
Wow, never knew had a chance at him in '10. Fascinating to think how the Bills & Steelers' fortunes would have changed had that happened.

According to Albright, the news was Tamarcus Porter is unofficially a person of interest. He's a former college teammate of McCoy's and was involved in the Philadelphia scuffle with the cops 2 years ago.

Good for him. Wishing him luck this season outside of Week 2.

That dude has made an insane amount of money for doing nothing at the NFL level.
It's criminal.
Bradford's agent should be a first ballot Hall of Famer.

While not an obvious choice, I think the 49ers would be interesting, although I agree probably not as interesting as the Browns.
Still, you have a younger QB with his first full offseason leading his team. (Unfortunately, his looks probably would entice a certain portion of the potential audience to tune in.)
Seeing Shanahan as a young, innovative coach would be interesting.
McKinnon taking over as lead back.
Richard Sherman and Rueben Foster have to be draws, too.
Fair points - completely forgot about Sherman. The Foster situation doesn't seem like something the NFL would want to publicize though. I can see Roger 86ing the Niners for that reason.

I think we can refuse since we do not have a 1st year head coach and we have made the playoffs in the past 2 seasons. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000901695/article/6-teams-eligible-for-mandatory-hard-knocks-star-turn
My guess from the 6 teams listed in that article is that it will be either the 49ers or Browns. I know I'd be interested in watching Baker and Tyrod.
Hard to disagree with you here. Cleveland would be the best watch by a mile. They came off an 0-16 season, have a charismatic #1 pick in Baker and other interesting personalities like Josh Gordon, Landry, Myles G, etc and a coach on the hotseat. I don't see anything compelling about SF - can Jimmy being handsome sustain 6 episodes? Baltimore could be chosen for the Flacco-Jackson storyline.

Apologies to Whaley are due as well.
Our GM had the President sandbagging him, leaking to the media, and playing the HC and GM off of each other so he could look better and stay safe.
The culture in that office with Brandon around was toxic. I witnessed and felt it first hand in my dealings with the Bills from 2014-2016.
I sometimes feel bad for Whaley. The Watkins trade up was a catastrophe obviously, but outside of that most of the personnel issues were due to switching schemes every year on one side of the ball or the other. Rex's complete defensive switch being the most egregious.

Just checking if you're as excited as I am that Gettleman didn't draft a QB with the second pick

I will give FOX a shot tonight to see what they bring.
It's a simulcast with NFL network with Aikman etc. interacting with Mayock & company.

The tweats themselves I can chalk up to idiotic teenager behavior. The fact that he wasn't smart enough not to scrub them (way) before the draft process is a huge red flag. That Tom Condon didn't order an employee to look through Allen's social media months ago though is the biggest surprise by far.

Jacksonville's is hilarious, especially the Pats & Bills babies
