    1. How can you not throw two challenges that would have both been won?

KC makes adjustments and wins the game

First 3 drives and the defense plays plays lights out and then can't do a thing

Watkins is unstoppable then KC makes some adjustments and Buffalo does nothing. Announcers saying to do something to change the look and absolutely nothing

    As usual 9 penalties

The Defense just is not good and allowed too many big plays

The game turned when Rex didn't throw challenge on the Maclin pass

This has happened three straight years vs. KC. All games could/should have won, all losses

No pressure or hits on Alex Smith (except the Hughes late hit)

Terrible play calling after the second Watkins TD

And again very little over the middle..... But KC completed passes down the middle.....

  1. Rex is too stuck in the stone age when it comes to the NFL, which is based on offense.

Everyone was gaga when TT threw 12 times (8 to SW) and we ran roughshod over the Dolphins. That is an anomaly in today's NFL, but Rex wishes every week is like that and thus vs. the Jets 7 NE when it was not that (and most other games this year) there are issues.

In three quarters vs. Philly today Megatron already has 14 targets and Golden Tate 7 catches (in 8 targets). This should be the norm where the #1 receiver is targeted a approximately of 35% of the time.

  2. I respect your opinion. Its valid.

For me TT has long way to go. He has had players getting open all season long. He either does not trust his read or his players.

Lets hope he gets a Fitz/ Stevie thing going soon.

Both Clay and Watkins should be getting the majority of targets

Much of this comes down to coaching and here again the Bills are lacking. Seen it over and over that they are slow n getting plays in and when they are at the LOS they are not creative or assessing the D. I do look @ Watkins and you can see that TT is not going to call a play involving Watkins and that he is nothing more then a decoy.

Can say all you want that TT isn't Ryan or Manning (Eli), but the Deandre Hopkins example is 100% bang on that he needs touches. No targets the first half (3 points) is unacceptable.

  3. The running into the kicker seemed quite obvious yet they never showed a replay (as said I was in a bar).

The interference on Hogan was confirmed by all the announcers as was the last play of the game (by rules officials everywhere).

The fact that Rex didn't seem to care at all the last two minutes with the stoppages or hurrying the offense shows his lack of interest on that side of the ball. At least you saw Sean Payton laying into Rob Ryan about NO's defense, but Rex just focuses on the D.

IMO if Watkins doesn't start getting the ball a lot, he will publicly ask to be traded after the season is over. The Bills are not only being stupid not using him, they are costing him money when he becomes a free agent which is the reason he will go public and force them to trade him.

I wouldn't blame him either. The Bills are idiots with how they've ignored Watkins in game plans.

Agree 110%. Want to have an offensive star to cheer for and instead it's a joke. This is a QB's league and receivers are hugely important. I like TT, but if he is having trouble reading coverages, the coaching is lousy and you don't tell him to throw to Watkins, just exacerbates the point.

Again here are the top receivers and targets. Top 25 have at least 8/game and 5 receptions (if played all 10 games)...

    http://espn.go.com/nfl/statistics/player/_/stat/receiving/sort/receivingTargets

    1. Yep the refs were atrocious, but the game was there for the taking
    2. Fourth & under 5 and NE runs into the kicker and no flag or replay. Was in a bar and again scratching my head. That would have been a first down.
    3. No PI on Hogan pass. Text book simple call. How many times the Bills have been called and I am upset with the DB/LB and concede what an obvious call it is.
    4. TT ignoring Watkins again. This is plain stupid. The article looking at Deandre Hopkins and his 1 targets/game with worse QB's tells you all you need to know
    5. How come NE get's receivers over the middle and moving and Buffalo just don't? Watkins should be catching passes on the run
    6. Defense played well, but again a missed tackle (last minute of first half) and one long gain negates much of it.
    7. Wasted timeouts..... Dumb dumb dumb.....
    8. Two minute offense pathetic. Bills last play or not advanced the ball 35 yards in 2 minutes. One sack, but no sense of urgency. Coaching & TT unprepared.
    9. 3rd & 6" from midfield. Run up as Brady does and sneak it.
    10. Terrible 3rd down play calling throughout. First play of the game we complete a 9 yarder and still a three and out.....

Off to KC who the Bills have manhandled the last two years and still managed to lose.......

  5.

All of this is true, despite clear evidence during two training camps that when healthy he's the best player on the field. Fans are idiots when it comes to Sammy -- in large part because a guy with a blonde mohawk (the real diva) has a veteran QB who knows he needs to keep feeding him the ball.

If Tyrod, Sammy, Shady, and Karlos can stay "game ready" for the rest of the season there are good things in store for Bills fans -- regardless of what Rex does with the defense.

Only 8 targets...... Still not enough. If I was Sammy, reading the list below I'd be upset too.

    http://espn.go.com/nfl/statistics/player/_/stat/receiving/sort/receivingTargets

Not everything will be so perfect, where there are only 12 passes in a game and the running game is so good.

Yes he's missed missed 4 games, but in the other 4, less then 6 targets/game or 58th in the league......

BTW take a look at poor Antonio Brown and what happened to him with Big Ben out.

  6. And so far this season a staggering 26 targets & 18 catches, which is two weeks for Odell, Julio or Antonio.

As said the most positive note was that TT looked at him first, not Clay or Woods. Interesting but when they'd line up, this week you could tell Watckins was the target.

  7. Yes it is a silly observation, and I do not think 66.7% of all targets should be to one player, but it was really interesting to see that TT was actually looking at Watkins on those plays. Add to that he was responsible for 92.8% (168 of 181 total) of the total pass yardage (must be a record).

But then let's look at Odell Beckham & Julio Jones who had 17 targets yesterday and Antonio Brown 23!!!!

  8. You have a case. The Giants game was a mess and one that could have been won without penalties.

I'm starting to just hate the NFL officiating. Their goal should be a zero penalty game.

However it seems like their goal is to have a penalty every play.

    Let the players play!

Except penalties are penalties and all were legitimate. The #'s are staggering. Watch other games and 50% of the penalties.

  9. I'm all for bashing on the defense with their failure to come even close to preseason expectations... but this last game was not on the defense.

    1. The final drive was significantly aided by an incorrect PI call. If the correct call was made, this thread doesn't exist and the Bills hold on 4th and 15.

    2. The 3 drives prior to the last Jax drive resulted in two 3 and outs and a pick-6 (would have held as the game winner if not for the PI call IMO)

    3. Bortles made a great play avoiding pressure and throwing the TD to Hurns. Gotta give him some credit.

I wish we could call our D elite, but they aren't right now. However they played solid against Jax. It would be nice to not even have to worry about bad officiating to swing the balance of the game.

Again this was Jacksonville. They also had a 73 yd TD drive, a 36 yd drive that had two out of the three plays stopped in the back field & that 79 yard 10 min drive. All teams have 3 & outs during a game, don't go on about how wonderful Buffalo is becuase they had some too... Two of the TD's were on third downs and the final was a 31 yard out play when the whole point was don't let them score a td!!!!!

  10. Flacco is not Bortles..... Jax got on the Bills side of the field and scored everytime (outside 4 runs from the 3). This was supposed to be at worst a top 5 defense, with an elite line with all the worries about the offense. At home the Bills D has been very suspect.

Add to that missed coverages and bad tackling at inopportune times has too cost Buffalo.
