If the Bills somehow win the SB this year - which will be a minor miracle - it'll make the reload much easier to handle.

Post 13 seconds all I wanted was a Rams type sell out. I could easily handle mediocre for a few years post Super Bowl. I think some people would be ok if the team moves as long as we win one lol.

Says the team that has given Allen Diggs and scrap parts to throw to, a below average offensive line in his time here, and doesn’t allow him to run anymore.

It’s not all on the Bills, I think Allen sounds strange now and looks weird on the sidelines, and has admitted to not working as hard as he can.

This team lacks playmakers, and the scheme has not been cutting edge.

So Allen is having to play death by 1,000 papercuts offense and getting grilled relentlessly about turnovers from his coach and media.

This franchise has spent their money on defense.

Invest heavily in the offense and I think Allen comes back.

Greg Cosell last night with Farrar - the Bills are not a talented offense. They became predictable on offense. Stefon Diggs is a high level possession receiver. They don’t have a vertical component in their offense.

All this with a strong armed QB that wants to make plays down the field.

And we sit here and scratch our head and say why can’t we score 30 every week?

Allen is LeBron in Cleveland the first time around.

Hey Josh here is a 1986 Camaro, now get out there win races.

I like Josh Allen, but he is not Lebron. Also, Diggs, Cook, and Kincaid are weapons. Even on the right route Shakir and Davis are dangerous. Josh is making a lot of bad plays, the play calling was bad, but he has also played bad.

Special teams was a mess yesterday.  There does need to be some accountability here.

I think it's been a mess all season. The punt and kick coverage has been really bad, but beyond that the blocking on punt and kick returns is worse. They're constantly returning the ball and getting to short of the 20 on kicks and get very little of anything on punt returns. This is after they signed a former all pro returner.

No. They aren’t. 0 points until 3 min left in the half lol. Two offensive turnovers.

we are paying Diggs and Allen more than like 10/11 of the defensive starters

If you want to feel real sick, Taron Johnson has the 6th highest cap hit, just south of Vonn. Ed Oliver is like a other $2m below that in 7th. Too high still imo for a guy who can't finish his pass rush.

I agree, we need an improved offense.   But can Ben Johnson the OC run his offense while also being a good HC?  That’s the 2nd question.  Some one will find out next season.

The first question is:  Will Ken Dorsey figure out how to turn this O around?  If he does, Ben Johnson won’t be a consideration in Buffalo because it’ll be McD and Dorsey once again.

Be a fan of this team.  Focus on the task at hand.  Winning this season.

or give up and focus on next year.  💩

I thought watching and speculating was exactly what fans were supposed to do. ***** even the front office should be planning for the future.

    What game were you watching?

The one with where he is running up field on the outside and Allen doesn't even come close to the target. It's behind the receiver and flat. It wasn't even a hard play and it makes no sense to throw like that when the DB has inside coverage.

  7. 2 hours ago, Returntoglory said:

And once again,  Davis makes no attempt to Breakup or fight for the ball.

That throw was yards behind him and directly to the defender. It looked like he forgot which team he was throwing to, I'm not sure what you want him to do there. There is a theme on this board to come up with excuses for Allen's turnovers that has existed since day 1. He is stupid with the ball in both carrying and throwing it, that's just something they are going to have to scheme around.

    Not sure I agree here.

Allen was plenty vertical enough to turf it or eat it. He chose to make the throw and it was tipped. Being a yard or two more vertical would not have changed his options.

    Agreed.

Allen gets that throw off 9 out of 10 times.

He threw it right into the much shorter DB. People are acting like he made some crazy play to tip the ball. He has as many turnovers as he does for a reason, and he also has a lot of balls tipped, it wasn't that outlandish.

Think how much random good luck Tampa Bay had last night in order to keep that game close:

    • Mayfield had at least 5 tipped/batted passes. None of them get intercepted and two of them go for scores (TD to off Benford's helmet, 2-point conversion tipped by Phillips). Meanwhile Allen is basically flawless with his passing all night except for one pass that gets tipped in the air directly to a defensive lineman.
    • Tampa Bay fumbled twice and recovered them both.
    • The facemask on Phillips on 4th down was bad luck. The play should've been blown dead already. I agree it looked like Phillips was trying to find a way to tackle Mayfield that wouldn't results in a roughing the passer penalty.
    • The illegal contact penalty on Johnson on the prior 4thd down was a terrible call. Johnson made contact at the line of scrimmage and just ran side-by-side with him afterwards. It was a terrible call in a vacuum and even worse given the context of the game.

He threw it directly into a db about a foot shorter than him lol. I think tipped doesn't accurately describe how bad it was. He is both the problem and the solution in games like these. Overall though I think we see how much better he is when the clock isn't under 10 every play.

It was awful! You could call that on any given play! They were grabbing Diggs all the way down the field and we didn't get a call. Johson had a push at the line and then just covered. It was in no way illegal contact!

The last td was a straight arm push off of Benford that should be OPI.

Milano is a killer too.  Personally, I would rather ride or die with Dorian Williams than watch Dodson.

Williams is slow. He was late in coverage or just outrun to the sidelines on a few plays today that really hurt. He and Taron Johnson had an awful game.

You’re 100 percent on it.  I mean dude call an easy interception on our first offensive play.  Who does that?  Josh should have audibles out.

Idk how much of that is play calling when he never looked off Knox and then tried to loft a ball into 3 defenders. It was lazy from Josh.

I'm concerned right now. We should all be concerned.

    Stop panicking.

The Bills have a worse record than they did at this point last season. They looked inept offensively in the 1st half the last 2 weeks against 2 of the worst teams in the NFL... at least by the metrics of the moment.

But this board has a short memory.

Everyone remember us rolling into the playoffs in 2021? 4 straight wins and then that historically dominant win against the Patriots before the 13 second heartbreaker. And that was the year everyone was saying "that was our year!"

That was also the year we started with an embarrassing and surprising loss to the Steelers, won 4 in a row and then went 3-5 in our next 8 games including disgustingly shameful losses to the Jags and Colts.

Buffalo was 7-6 with 4 games remaining and it was very questionable whether we'd even make the playoffs... much less look so good for a stretch of games.

Here we are again... except it's not as dire as 2021 because we're still so early in the year. Plus, there's really no single dominant team in the NFL. First time in years there were no undefeated teams after 6 weeks.

We have a loooooOOOOooonnngg way to go this season.

    giphy.gif

Your comparing an offense that was still creating an identity with a developing QB to the regression of that. Josh looked better in 21. The defense was better in 21. Hell even the special teams is bad now and only getting on older.

Is it just me or is the Josh calling plays at the line and forcing the opponent no chance to sub the best route we have to score. I feel like the backyard ball Josh can play with our Wr's is best by keeping the D on the toes. I am done with the shotgun draws for 2-3 yards no one is falling for those.

Let Josh be his own playcaller the way Peyton and others do. I'd rather he improvise at the line vs watching the D prepare for the same vanilla 7 plays.

    K-Gun needs to come back.

Josh is not now nor will he probably ever be anywhere near Peyton when it comes to on field intelligence. He has a hard enough time with progressions and still can't recognize coverages. He is a physical freak and that's still very valuable, but he needs a system and this 12 personnel is not it. Spreading the field and making defenses choose between coverage or a spy was where he flourished.

It's decision time.  Do you think you have what it takes to win it all this year?   Without tre Milano and jones?   If you do then you get josh a weapon as Knox and Davis are trash.

If you don't.  Then we need to get some cap space and picks.

    Who helps that ?

    1.   Poyer?

    2.   Knox?

    3.  Sad to say but Dawkins?

    4.  Oliver?

    5. Epenesa?

    6.  Diggs???   Doubtful I know BUT...

I'm torn to be honest.   I don't think the D has enough to win this year even with josh having another weapon.

    We sell is my guess.

I would never advocate for it because he is the only one with passion, but either way Diggs is untradeable. It would be better to have him sit out than trade him with the way his contract is structured. Paying Oliver was stupid, paying Knox because he is Josh's friend was stupid, any grabbing scrubs for WRs was stupid. The defense needs to be overhauled in the offseason while still addressing serious offensive problems. I don't see how they do it with all the bad contracts.

Rebuild implies tearing it completely down to the studs and starting from scratch. That's not happening here.

We have more core pieces (and at key positions) who are solid and under contract then pieces/positions where we don't.

There will be players coming in and going out. But there will be no rebuild.

Both safeties are aging or have aged out. Taron Johnson was horrible today, no way Tre White is ever a legit #1 again, and who knows with Milano. So you have the receivers, secondary, and offensive line to rebuild with no money. They have to tear it down to have the capital.

Man we are 4-3 in a completely stacked division. It’s not the end of the world. We lost 2 tough division games and put up a stinker in London. It’s not over by any means, but defenses are starting to figure out Allen. He needs to start ripping off big runs again.

Stacked division?? The only person who looks like they give a ***** is Diggs and if his contract wasn't so locked down he would probably be forcing his way out.

I will let Josh Allen respond to the keyboard jockeys who are pushing the ridiculous anti-Dorsey narrative:

"Allen, however, left no doubt about where he stands with his offensive coordinator, saying he trusts him implicitly.

'All of it is,' the quarterback said when asked if any of the criticism of Dorsey is misguided. 'Nobody knows what’s going on in between walls here. Nobody knows the reads that we have in the quarterback room. Nobody knows the blocking schemes that we’re putting in the offensive line room. Again, it comes down to us executing and making sure that I’m on task and making sure that I’m trying to guide this offense in the right way. Making sure I’m making good decisions. It starts with me, so that’s No. 1.'”

Inside the Bills: Why team's offensive captains take issue with recent criticism of Ken Dorsey

He advocated for him and now he has to defend him, that's not really surprising. Execution also falls on the coach, if they aren't executing then he needs to make changes.
