What you are doing is convincing yourself we can't win before we even get out on the field. You should never stop believing. It's the ones that don't listen to statements such as "teams without great QBs don't win the big one" that go on to win the big one. Every rule can be broken. If the Bills go on to win a Super Bowl or even just make it to the Super Bowl, every team without a good QB will copycat our system.

I also disagree that a rookie and sophomore Sanchez is better than a veteran Cassel and 3rd year Manuel. Another ridiculous statement.

What is ridiculous is you believing that opinions and/or attitudes of fans affects the outcome of the games. The game is played on the field, not on message board. Absolutely asinine statement.

I am not convincing myself of anything. Its simply my belief that without a good QB, in today's NFL, odds are you are not winning the SB. It's not complicated actually. The Bills are doing the best they can out of a ****** situation.

  2.

This has gotten out of hand. A great QB is very important, but you just took it to a ridiculous level, and then proved yourself wrong in the same sentence. The Jets made it to the AFC championship two years in a row with Sanchez just 4 or 5 years ago. The guy who coached that team is our coach right now. We haven't made the playoffs in 15 years. Please remind me why I shouldn't be pumped about this team right now?

Who says I'm not pumped ? I believe we'll make the playoffs this year, and we might even win our 1st round game. I am pumped about that ! All I'm saying is that IMO, without a good/great QB, we are not winning the big one. BTW, hate to say it but Sanchez in those 2 years was better than what we have at QB right now.

If you have that much talent, you could make up for the lack of a great QB. You are vastly underrating Trent Dilfer- he got a bad reputation from spending most of his career with bad teams

This might be true, but it only enhances my point about having a good QB.

  3. This is just such a stupid topic. If you polled Dolphins fans and asked them if they would trade a first round draft pick who didn't even start playing quarterback until his senior year of college (yet was drafted higher than EJ Manuel), has started every single game his first three years while his stats have improved immensely each year to the point that in his third season he threw for 4,000+ yards, 27 TD's and 12 INT's for EJ freaking Manuel, literally zero of them would make this trade. And when I say zero, I mean like not one person in the whole world. This thread has really exposed how jaded and biased some of you can be. It's just a ridiculous thread.

Stop it !! You make way to much sense !! :worthy:

  4. if he can't beat out Matt Cassel and Tyrod Taylor then maybe he should re-think his career choice lol. if he looks like crap in the preseason then i have no problem trying to trade him for a 6th or 7th round pick (i bet Chip Kelly would be interested). at least then we will know we gave him a shot and it just didn't work out.

i think he has the tools to be a good (game manager) QB. he has the size, athleticism, strong arm, work ethic, clutch factor. i think it's the mental aspect of the game that is holding him back. he is quick to check down and he seems unsure of himself a lot of times. he's the biggest QB in the NFL and he runs a 4.6, he should be a bigger threat out of the pocket than what he has shown. if he works at it and brings it all together he can be a decent enough QB for us to win a lot of games. there's no reason why he can't be a poor man's Kappernick in this offense

I haven't seen the clutch factor at all with EJ. That's my biggest issue with him. Over throwing open receivers by 5 yards or throwing 5 yards out of bounds is not clutch in my eyes. You say his issue is the mental aspect. Well, being clutch is ALL mental.

  5. I have been saying Tannehill is a joke because:

his mechanics suck, and I can prove it, and so can he, because he can't throw accurately down field directly due to them,

    he's a half-field reader, and I can prove it,

he's a 1st rout...then panic "progression" guy, which means he's a playkiller..."coincidentally" they moved in read/option last year, midseason, and various clowns rejoiced at his "running ability"...so I don't have to prove it, as they already did it for me,

he doesn't read Ds very well, and I've proven that plenty,

he lacks toughness/is a Kyle Orton clone when he knows he might get sacked, and has proven he will put the ball on the ground if you hit him hard,

    ....for 3 years...

....and demonstrated this/backed it up, beyond all doubt, in multiple threads/posts with film and screen shots.

Now, what is easier to believe? That I have done as I have said, or that you, with 65 total posts, haven't been around here long enough to know that's what I have done?

The simple fact is Tannehill is the personification of the Emporer's New Clothes. Miami is a big market, the media wants to talk about big markets, and therefore Tannehill is "good", "improving", "leading", blah F'ing blah. Everybody "sees" Tannehill, because it's good business.

But, when you actually sit down and watch the game, and rewind the film and slow it down? Like it or not: EJ has shown better at this point, it's just a matter of opportunities to play.

Once again: I will remind you of the last game of the year, where Geno Smith outplayed Tannehill, easily doubled his QBR and nearly doubled his rating. Tannehill got sacked 7 times...precisely because of what I said above: you take away his first read, it's panic time.

Here's what I can't believe: We watched Tannehill crump over and over against our own team 2 times last year. How does anyone come away from those 2 games thinking we want Tannehill on this team?

When he fumbled the ball away, during the Thursday Night game, while "running"? When he got sacked, in the shotgun, by standing like a statue, and watching our saftey blitzer run all 20 yards towards him, never moving a muscle?

I want to know who here was sitting there, watching that, and saying "yeah I'd take him over EJ any day!"

    It's F'ing preposterous.

No, it's not. It's simply my opinion. I do not think that EJ is or will ever be better than Tannehill. If I'm wrong, great ! It would mean the Bills are doing good. To be clear, I don't think Tannehill is a very good QB. I just think that EJ is worst.

    Hopefully, he proves me wrong.

    Go Bills!

  6.

I've heard the Patriots are "done now" for the past 5 or 6 years. I'll believe it when I see it.

Make that 10 years..They'll win the division again as long as Brady stays upright and BB runs the show.Doesn't matter who else is on that team. It just happens when you have one of GOATs at QB and Head Coach. Bills will get in as a WC.

    NE: 12-4

    BUF: 10-6

    MIA: 8-8

    New Jersey: 8-8

AFCE is going to be a blood bath.

  7. Even a blind cat will catch a mouse once in awhile. Unfortunately without a qb we are the equivalent of a blind cat, sure we can make the cat bigger, faster, stronger, maybe even give it bigger paws. At the end of the day we are still a blind cat.

Don't know why, but I love this analogy. Great work Sir !

  8. True, but it seems as though they are losing more "key" pieces to the defense this year as opposed to previous years. Which possibly could have a greater effect on the Bills success against them. With the FA resignings + FA additions to the team and Rex as HC now, this definitely isn't the same old Bills that BB is used to.

Ryan's coaching tendencies are no secret, but Ryan will be facing NE with a completely new team, that IMO, is much more talented overall than what he had while with the Jets. I believe the Bills chances this year will be much better than say oh, THE LAST 15 YEARS!!! The Bills will be the AFC East champs this year, bank it. It's the dawn of a new era in the AFCE.

Brady and Belichick are still there, so no, I will not bank it. Once they leave, then it's wide open. Our Bills will , however, get a WC spot this year. Watch NE go to the AFC Championship game for a 4th season in a row.Hopefully for the last time in the Brady era.

  9. one can only hope and pray as we've done for the last 5+ seasons

I've actually been waiting since 2004. I really thought they were done then. They have the best coach and best QB in the league. Until that changes, NE is the team to beat in the East if not the entire AFC. We do this every year, and every year we are proven wrong. It will end when Brady leaves in another 2 years. ( Hopefully )

  10. Whats really sad is for the vast majority of " average Joes ", the Pats are an awesome team and the best dynasty ever. Hard core football fans ( people who actually join message board etc..) disagree, but in the grand scheme of things, we are the minority. Both BB and Brady will be 1st ballot HOF and NE will be remembered as a great team by them. People who follow football just once in a while have no clue and there's more of them than hardcore fans.
