We're going with a full, backyard style offense. The QB is going to hold the ball and yell "Go!"
Now if we can only get Chris Jones to count 3 Mississippi's....

Bummer, sorry to see him go. The Bills should have re-signed him.

Absolutely no comparison. Three HOF'ers released on the same day, vs. some HOVG'ers.

Is this a Williams thing? We gotta be stocking up on players named Diggs now?

Shula was very offensive.

Makes sense from a cap perspective. Farewell Rick Bates, and we thank you.

Hmm, how should I put this? ***** NO!!! First of all, nobody is going to trade for a guy coming off a broken leg. we'd get pennies on the dollar. Second, Cookie is the best pure LB in the NFL (YEAH, I SEDDIT!!). We give him a chance to come back. Hopefully they don't Von him and run him out there before he's 100% ready.

In 2022 they committed to him as a starter and brought no serious competition in for him. I agree he is the perfect 6th lineman because he can play either guard spot, center or right tackle in a pinch. My issue isn't with them signing him. It was with them handing him the right guard spot. Cybo, despite definitely struggling a tad the second half of his rookie year was a major upgrade.
We seem to be in violent agreement.

But Bates was committed to as a starter. That was my issue with their 2022 approach. He is a guy who can start and not get destroyed. But he is not a guy who you can start and expect him to improve one of the poorest lines in football. They needed upgrades and settled for a baseline player.
I think the main reason they wanted Bates was for the versatility. He could play any interior line position and even took a few reps at tackle if I remember right.- 2

I'd hardly call it "being exploited" when getting a totally "free ride" to a major college. In today's world, the monetary value of the free ride is probably $50-75k per year, and of course there’s always the "off the books" benefits that these athletes get.
We're gonna disagree here. Many college athletes never even got their degree, but this argument was successfully used for decades to deny the athletes their due. It also didn't address the vast disparity between the "value" of their education and the amount of money raked in by the colleges and the NCAA.

NIL was long overdue. If it keeps kids in college, good for them. Easier to have a degree in hand then have to go back for it.
Like Curt Flood, Ed O'Bannon will not profit from his legal victory. But college athletes can no longer be exploited for billions by colleges and the NCAA. At least now they can get a piece of that pie.
