  1. I have heard that story, although I suspect it was exagerated. I guess Hadley had too much alcohol. It happens to the best of us.
  2. I know Hadley personally, and he is a helluva nice guy. He is also a very good agent and is not the type to create problems or protracted holdouts.
  3. Rosenhaus is already causing enough problems around the league. From chicago sun times The seed planted by Drew Rosenhaus, the Bears or both on Thursday that the club was checking out Michigan State wide receiver Devin Thomas turned out to be a smoke screen. As in it was a hoax. We will count ourselves guilty of being suckered in and are here to set the record straight. Wide receivers coach Darryl Drake did not travel to Michigan to meet with the top prospect today. Many expect Thomas to be the first receiver off the board, selected by the Buffalo Bills at No. 11. Obviously, news that the Bears would be interested helps Thomas in the event the Bills do not select him, and helps the Bears as they do their damnedest to make someone believe they’re not targeting an offensive tackle
  4. We need more than the 7 D lineman that we currently have. We have 2 rushing ends in Schoebel and Kelsay. We need an end that can stop the run as well.
  5. We may be able to get him for a 5th rounder
  6. you are most likely correct, however they maybe unable to move down and if they could move up for the "cheap" price of a 3rd round pick to get an impact player. Also there is no player worthy at the 11 spot in our needs.
  7. who did gosselin predict for us the past few years?
  8. If we could trade up and only give up a 3rd round pick to move up to #8 I think it would be worth it. We need to strenthen our D-line. Spencer Johnson can play end as well as tackle and currently we only have 7 d-lineman who are worth anything. I am not excited about picking a WR or CB at #11.
  9. I live in Atlanta. They are not moving Michael Jenkins. He is their inside slot receiver . They may cut Joe Horn.
  10. I think he would be a decent 1 year option, and I don't think will command much more than veteran's minimum salary.
  11. Takeo and his family live in Atlanta. He went to Auburn, so this is close to home.
  12. He was there with his daughter's mother. The baby mom was hot. Takeo looked like he was in good shape. I didn't want to bother him, but I heard san francisco was interested. I was hoping we might resign him for veteran minimum. I still have his jersey. It is very sad-he is Sam Cowart all over again.
  13. what Levy is saying is that we are going to draft another TE high(zack miller) and play 2 TE offense which is what fairchild wants to play. Everett and Neufeld are not locks to make the roster.
  14. I think if peterson falls to minnesota, they would be interested in trading down. They could use Ted Ginn, but don't want to reach for him. It would cost us our 2nd to trade up and I don't want to give that up.
  15. We have too many needs for this to be a good strategy. In fact if Willis or Peterson are not there at 12, we should try and trade down.
  16. Both Neufeld and Cieslak saw alot of playing time last year. This year there will be more double TE formations as the FB position is being deemphasized. I do think it is unlikely that Zach Miller will last to the 3rd round. He will probably go at the end of the second. Most people compare him to Jason Witten. A big target like that who can block would help our offense tremendously.
  17. Other than Robert Royal, we have mediocre TE. Everett has shown nothing. I would keep Cieslak as #3, but we need another TE since we play alot of two TE formations. Neufeld sucks. I think Zach Miller could be available in the 3rd.
  18. AJ is the shrewdest GM out there. He has not made a bad trade and has exacted high compensation. Marv is very inexperienced as a GM. We had better not give up much for Turner.
  19. I thought that he played ok at guard and would have been a good depth signing for cheap.
  20. Is he fully recovered from his fractured foot? Will he be on the PUP list? This is an issue the bills have not discussed publicly. I know his agent Hadley Englehard, and I will ask him about it this weekend when I see him-although I don't know if he will tell me the truth.
  21. With the 8 roster spots on the defensive line now determined, I still don't see how we can stuff the run. Walker is a penetrator and plays the same position as Triplett. Williams and Mcgargo are not run pluggers.
  22. In today's update Alan Branch is off the big board. Is he the next Jonathan Sullivan, Jimmy Kennedy or Ryan Sims? If he is available at 12 do we take him? I usually respect Mel's rankings, but most other experts have him rated higher.
  23. Everyone seems to think we can just move Crowell to MLB or to strong side LB. This is wrong. He and Ellison are both weak side LB. The strong side LB must cover the TE. I am not convinced that Crowell will successfull at MLB or strong side. Ellison is clearly too small to play anything other than weak side.
  24. I am inclined to agree with you, although okoye or branch may be preferable to willis. However Peterson is a special talent who will sell tickets. I would love to pick one of them, and then trade back into the first round to get another one.
