  1. Tough spot for any QB these last three weeks with injuries. Robert Woods, Chris Hogan, D Moore - is that seriously our starting receiving group? Looks like Clay needs to have a big day.

We look like an expansion team on offense. It would be nice if the defense decided to go all in this week for a change. It is the only hope. Win ugly like at Tennessee.

  2. Shula not providing Marino with a running game is probably biggest reason they never won a Super Bowl.

Also, when you say 'bunch of girls' I can't help picturing you with your arms crossed on your chest, stomping your foot into the ground with a pouty face.

That being said, dline definitely not looking great, but Dareus looked pretty good a lot of plays.

Of course they took Dareus out on 3rd down in the 2nd half I don't know how many times. The dude had 10 sacks last year and gets push up the middle. This team is a mess: no pass rush, injuries all over on the offense to skill players that cannot be replaced, atrocious special teams penalties. I have no idea what Rex has done to our defense but I wish he'd stop.

  3. Has anyone heard anything about whether the Bills are going with Dan Carpenter to kick off? With Cundiff gone it certainly looks like it but i haven't heard this mentioned. While I understand the arguments against keeping 2 kickers, I was in favor of keeping Gay. I thought he did an excellent job at what he did and teams rarely got outside the 20. What they did last week made little sense to me. If Cundiff didn't beat out Carpenter during the week then why cut Gay and make yourself weaker at that position? Especially in light of cutting Cundiff this week it makes even less sense. I never thought Carpenter had the strongest leg on kickoffs but I guess we'll see.

  4. I don't know why people keep assuming a grade 2 hamstring injury is 3-4 weeks. Everything I've seen on line (I'm definitely NOT a doctor so perhaps I am totally wrong as is the information I am seeing) is 4-8 weeks.

    Rehabilitation and return to play

Timeframes for rehabilitation and return to sport vary depending on the nature and severity of the strain. As a general rule, Grade 1 hamstring strains should be rested from sporting activity for about three weeks and Grade 2 injuries for a minimum of four to eight weeks. In the case of a complete rupture (Grade 3 strain), the muscle may have to be repaired surgically and the rehabilitation to follow will take about three months.

  5. Hogwash.

We went 9-7 last year and have 3 pro bowlers on the D Line.

We're not losing because the guys haven't figured how to play together, We're losing because we make bone headed mistakes and come out "flat" (Jerry Hughes' word) against a team perceived to be worse than us. Guys are getting out muscled for the ball and fumbling instead of going down or out of bounds.

Our players have been smoking their own tweets. It starts at the top and Rex needs to somehow humble the team and reign them in.

I agree. They seemed all full of themselves yesterday and didnt show up till the 2nd half. When they finally woke up penalties, a fumble, bad play calling on the goal line and bad tackling finished them off.

This team acts like its already won something. It drives me crazy to see them not compete on both lines against a team that had starters out on both sides of their lines. Their focus was terrible on Sunday and so was the game plan from what i could tell.

It is hard to make the playoffs when you lose home games to teams with lesser talent than you have. With the Bengals coming up in 2 weeks, the Titans game is taking on must win status.I just hope they show up mentally for it.

  6. Looks like another year of pretending vs. contending with this group.

Offensively, I don't understand how Roman can go from the play designs of a week ago to seemingly having little clue this afternoon. I'm sure the tape review will show how much we missed Sammy and Shady in the passing game and I can cut him some slack for that, but that two minute offense to end the first half was beyond comprehension. NOBODY on the field or sideline had any idea of what they wanted to do and that worries me greatly moving forward. What were they doing on the sideline while the defense was on the field before getting the ball back? No excuse for that display of two minute offense. None.

Defensively, we once again lost our composure at critical times and it worries me that Rex seemed unperturbed with it in his presser. I can only hope he supported them publicly but will rip them all a new one in the film room. Brady did indeed provide a blue print and good QBs like Manning can execute the kind of offense that neutralizes our pass rush and forces our LBs to cover.

I won't say anything about the atrocious tackling all day, other than when your team scores a momentum changing TD to get within six, your defense needs to come up big with a stop if it wants to call itself a good defense. Bradham's miss will keep him in my doghouse for a long time. Embarrassing to say the least.

We are NOT a great defense and somebody on that unit needs to stand up and scream that at the top of his lungs in that lockerroom. I think they've been reading their clippings and enjoy being coddled by Ryan. Well Rex, this defense has HUGE problems when facing anything other than a poor team with average QBing. Good teams with average QBs can beat us when we play like today. Good teams with good QBs will embarrass us if we can't fix these problems.

Bottom line is, I don't think the Giants beat us as much as we beat ourselves. 99% of the time, that's a coaching issue and our staff schit the bed big time today. Amateur hour indeed.

    GO BILLS!!!

I agree with your post completely. This team struts around like peacocks thinking they've done something big and impressive and they haven't done anything of consequence really. I thought they were out coached badly in the 1st half and played with zero passion, like the Giants were just going to hand them the game because the big bad Bills beat Miami. Jeesh that was really really hard to watch.

  7. Some thoughts below:

    1. The o-line underperformed today. Other than Incognito, the overall unit is weak, and there were no running lanes for Williams. CK may never have starting ability. The o-line still needs upgrading.

    2. Not having Watkins and McCoy hurt. McCoy has not been 100%, but teams respect his abilities, including catching the football. Williams was used in a fairly one-dimensional way (other than his one catch), and I do not think the Giants defense was particularly concerned about Williams making plays in the passing game.

    3. I think Carpenter will be cut, particularly since Rex seemed to have issues with him in preseason and keeping a kick-off specialist on the roster.

    4. I think that Taylor's ankle may be bothering him more than we know.

    5. Rex and the defense need to regroup and figure out how to defend the quick, short passing game. This is the blue print for beating the Bills' defense. Brady is exceptional and Eli can be highly accurate. Not all QBs will be able to execute this game plan, but the defense needs to be prepared for it since it has been neutralizing our pass rush and overall aggressiveness.

    6. The penalties are beyond aggravating. There are no excuses. I thought the Giants defense should have been flagged for a couple of late hits on Taylor. Oh well.

    7. Miami and Indy may be pretty weak teams. Hard to judge our team based on those victories. Have to say that we were out-coached by the Pats and the Giants.

    8. I think there is talent on the team, but the question is whether the team has been built in a smart way. Not sure we will know the answer until later this season.

    9. Special teams coverage and returns have been noticeably worse than last year. No idea why since the coach and the players are the same.

    10. Really tough to be a Bills fan sometimes. Today was one of those days. I was excited for the game and I had high expectations. Losing two out of three at home is bad. Now I am not sure what we have here.

Agree with all of your points. No running game whatsoever today. They looked unprepared on both sides of the ball in the 1st half and showed about zero passion. They got beat on both lines today. I really don't understand why the D line looked so inept. They didn't win many matchups.

  8. Yesterday was tremendous. Just a complete beat down of a team that looks like it wants to get its head coach fired asap.

I am concerned about Watkins. Even when he isn't targeted a lot he opens things up for other guys and teams need to account for him. I saw where Victor Cruz has been out like 6 weeks with a calf problem. I am not a doctor and I dont know if all calf injuries are the same but I sure as hell hope Watkins isnt looking at that much time out. We seem to have so many muscle injuries in our skill players I really would like them to look at what their trainers are doing and change things if necessary.

  9. I kind of understand it but I totally do not like it. I think it is very short sighted. Some times contributions to winning teams comes from more than the measurables. Fred can contribute in so many ways to this team. I'd take him over Bryce Brown in a heart beat. I wish they had let him play this year and give him the option to retire afterwards. You can find a dozen Bryce Browns in the draft from round 4 on so why not keep the intangibles on this team this year. Hate the decision

  10. From what I can tell, the Bills have only had 1 turnover ( int by Sims) through 3 games. I can never remember so few in preseason. I have no idea if it means anything but I am pleased that they've been sharp and disciplined enough to avoid them. I hope this trend holds up. It will definitely augur well.

  11. And this time of year some are nearly safe to call made up to get off days. There's no indication any of those guys are serious or being rushed

You are so trusting. It's serious when skill players have leg injuries. Sammy was not the same player last year when playing with all his injuries. They play guys ready or not. I have little trust in their time frames
