because the bills do not want him to go back to the jets

Birch. Thanks for the video but I think you give the Pats defense too much credit they are replacing 2 double digit sack guys from last season with Fanana and 2 rookies. That defense still could struggle especially with their pass rush.
The pats offense on the other hand is loaded. Brady appears to have the most weapons he has ever had.
-
He seems to be too tall to play center
-
I remember when I was first reading up on him there was a lot of info on him being tall, fast, a good tackler and a hard worker, but there wasn't much said about his coverage ability.

carrington is a potential monster. hes a beast imo. he wasnt a 43 de last year, he was a 34 de. he played regular dt in 4 man fronts rushing the passer...
carrington and heard are locked in as backups. no way johnson or edwards stay as a 5th dt making that money. inactives dont make that, and they wont cut heard or carrington. that would make no sense.
that 5dt spot will be between, troup, dotson, ross, and gilbert. i think gilbert wins that job...
No way are Carrington and Heard locks as backups. Johnson and Edwards were way more productive as players last season.

I think Wannstedt as defensive coordinator will be huge.

What good is having a top 2 defense when our starting QB is Community College quality?
Get real. I heard on the radio yesterday that FITZ THREW FOR THE 3RD MOST YARDS IN BILLS HISTORY LAST SEASON.
He was 6th in the NFL In completions.
He was 9th in the NFL in completion percentage.
He was 11 th in yards passing in the League.
He was 10th in TD passes.
The biggest reason the Bills gave up the fewest sacks in the League last season was because of Fitz quick decisions
The offense was ranked in the top half of the league in scoring for the first time since 2006.
Injuries at receiver were so bad last season, the Bills used their 3rd string QB as a starter at WR for 5 games last season.
Fitz played with crack ribs most of last season too.

I can't believe I'm typing this...but can we see them play some games before making a "ranking" assessment?
It's from an NFL preview magazine. It should have ratings and rankings.
never seen a 5-way tie for fifth place. Uncanny.
From Lindy's NFL annual 2012 preview magazine.
Each position for every team is given a rating from 1-10 (basically 5-10)
The Giants and 49ers got 9's for their defensive lines
The Eagles, Vikings got 8.5's
The Bills, Lions, Cardinals, Jets, and Ravens got 8's
etc
-
Lindy Ruff?
No it's one of those nfl football preview books you see on the magazine racks similar to profootball weekly, sporting news, and Athlon
It's actually layed out pretty cool in that it gives each teams rosters with a lines worth of a description of each player. I get in every year.

CJ Spiller vs Calvin Pace, Bart Scott, and Bryan Thomas
The Jets are getting a little long in the tooth at LB. Spiller's explosiveness could be used well in this matchup.
-
Lindy's Pro football annual 2012 has the Bills defensive line rated tied for 5th best in the league
1 New York Giants
1 San Francisco 49ers
3 Philadelphia Eagles
3 Minnesota Vikings
5 Detroit Lions
5 Arizina Cardinals
5 New York Jets
5 Balimore Ravens
5 Buffalo Bills

No way Carrington doesn't make the team. And its 54 man active roster now I thought.
With a third QB.
Why. Carrington has only 24 tackles and 2 sacks total in 2 season. That production just isn't good enough.
The Bills defense has benn among their worst in their history in the last 2 seasons.
Carrington needs a very good training camp and show at least enough upside, to make the roster.
-
There are only 2 major sports franchises in the area and the Bills may have the lowest NFL prices in the league.
-
I would have tried to sign Brandon Lloyed this offseason.
-
The line as I read it will be Mario Williams, Kyle Wlliams, Marcel Darius, Mark Anderson (or Kelsay or Merriman)
The opposing TE will have to help out vs Mario Williams a lot and the center will help out vs Kyle Williams or Marcel Darius on a double team depending on the offensive scheme but more likely double team Marcel Darius. mark Anderson should get mostly one on one matchups. Kyle Williams should get a lot of one on ones too. Then there is Merriman coming off the bench.
-
So people make the team based on their stats? Dwan Edwards started at 3-4 DE. We now play a 4-3. Last years stats mean nothing. How they play in training camp and preseason will come into play....and Edwards' big contract may too.
White had a better ypc than choice, so he makes the team. Lol. 3.2 vs 2.8. Doesn't say much for either. White had 8 carries in garbage time in week 1, than had 4 carries the rest of the way. Gailey coached choice in college and went to him over white as the 2nd RB option after Fred went out. I like white and would personally prefer to keep him over Choice, but to think they would keep white over choice because he had a better ypc last year is crazy IMO. The guy had 4 carries after week 1. The only thing last year showed is gailey prefers choice over white.
I don't see clowny making the team and I'd be surprised to see us keep 3 TEs on the 53 man. A third on the practice squad is likely IMO.
His name is Marcel Dareus. How and why people still call him Darius is unreal.
It's a production business unless upside of a player shows he can become more productive.
It will either be Clowny or Donald Jones at WR
-
Dwan Edwards is a 3-4 DE and will not make the team. Carrington will. Spencer Johnson can play DT or DE in the 4-3. I still don't think he makes it either and they keep an additional DB.
Totally agree Powell will be the punter and in the edn they just won't keep two kickers. With this team's injury problems on the o-line and with Mcgee and Merriman coming off injury I can't see them wasting a roster spot on a second kicker no matter what Nix has said.
Alex Carrington's production just hasn't been good enough. He has to take a giant leap forward to make it.

Chan Gailey vs Rex Ryan
Chan is 0-4 vs Rex
-
Choice will be on this team. The FO signed him an extension. He may be trade bait once a vet goes down, too.
Maybe you are right, but White had better yards per carry than choice and has more upside. I could be wrong but I think White is the better special teams guy.
-
I think Donald Jones probably makes the roster over Clowney,
I know its not a sexy pick but I think Moorman will be able to hold onto his job.
Jones could make it over Clowny, I was just thinking that the Bills may want to use Clowny as their outside speed guy until TJ Graham becomes more polished.
Moorman is a great guy and still a very good punter, but Powell sounds like he is an even better punter than Moorman.
-
You forgot Alex Carington. He probably makes the team over guys like Dwan Edwards and Spencer Johnson.
Alex Carrington had only 16 total tackles and 1 sack last season
Dwan Edwards had 52 tackles and 2.5 sacks
Spencer Johnson had 47 tackles and 2 sacks
It came down to production for me to think Carrington would not make it.
