  1. Lets all fast forward to 2016...next season will be abysmal..lame ducks jumping and being pushed off of the ship..The NFL is NOT the Pennsylvania gas patch...

But hope and delusion spring eternal..like when the hot chick smiles your way, best to look behind you...

I propose forfeiting all games next year and having #1 pick in 2016..

  2. Why is Watkins more likely to be selling cars in a few years? I'm not sure if you may have missed the first 16 Bills games this year, but by all accounts, he's - at the very least - the 2nd best rookie wide receiver in the NFL. And he hasn't had the luxury of a decent QB/offense.

As I write this, I realize I'm being trolled and I hate myself a little for falling into another trap of stupidity. But since you created an entirely new word (undoubtably), I'm going to play along one last time.

    Undoubtably

  3. I think Whaley needed some more seasoning with the Steelers before joining the Bills..I don't ever see the Steelers make a bone head trade..They miss like everyone but they don't miss and shoot themselves in the face like Cheney..Small market teams in boring NE Cities need to be meticulous in drafting players....

  4. Other than injury, why would one possibly believe that Sammy be out of football in 2 years?

Of course "injury" in any of it's many forms...You have to consider that The NFL is the last big ride for these guys....an NFL player career averages 3.3 years.

So is it prudent to give up this coming years #1 for an undoubtably good receiver who just might be another Rice, Fitzgerald or what have you but more likely will be selling cars in a few years...

  5. No one knows if Sammy will be a star or out of football in 2 years....too many variables...What we do know is the Bills are an offensive team in chaos...they missed the playoffs and seem to have many holes to plug...including the most difficult one at QB...Would a first round pick this spring make a difference?

I do know that Whaley took his shot and they have a really messed up offense. Does he get the chance to right this mess and "build" an offense or will he continue to make mistakes in the draft?

  6. You may be right, but we don't know yet. The truth is that if there is a switch, that switch won't ever go on with Marrone and Hackett here.

I truly believe that Manuel has the ability to get to a "Joe Flacco" level of franchise QB. What he lacks in accuracy can be mitigated by our receivers who have a large pass catching radius, adding a real TE threat, and actually throwing the ball deep (whether it's caught or not, loosens things up for the RBs in the running game). While Manuel isn't as accurate as Flacco, he has the running ability to extend plays and a new coach will have to coach Manuel to use his legs as the ultimate plan B of passing plays that go wrong.

What Marrone didn't do was challenge defenses vertically. Even if it isn't complete, it gives breathing room to a suffocating running and 3 yard passing game. NFL defenses know before the snap that every Bills play will be within the 10 yard sticks whether it's a run or pass.

You sir (EJ) are no Joe Flacco..If I was Flacco I'd be quite insuted...He can throw...

  7. Panic is not the right word IMO. He took Sammy because he was going all in for 2014. Misguided might be a better word. Misguided in his belief that EJ was ready to take advantage of Watkins' talent.

I guess thats my point ...Whaley seems prudent and has had success getting players here... Its clear he wanted to make a splash during this ownership thing but i think (with hindsight) he should stuck to the picks he had...Trade Sammy for a first rounder..

  8. He's actually from Oakland, which is most assuredly in northern California.

Northern, Southern meh it was central California... he was way out of his element in Buffalo and these things should be a consideration when drafting...he was not a rust belt snow bound small town guy and his family was important..they also hated Buffalo...
