  1. That's not the point. As Badolbilz has posted numerous times here, the Bills have a bad habit of caving in to players and getting little to nothing in return. I'd simply hold on to him and force him to retire if need be. If he doesn't report, you don't have to pay him (I don't think), so money isn't the issue.

I may out there on a limb but I doubt we could have gotten anything for Scobel who has maybe 1 more season left in him.

  2. In totality the band hit an artistic peak with Gabriel culminating in the LLDOB. Foxtrot, and Selling England by the Pound were also prog rock materpieces. I thought the first 2 post Gabriel era albums Trick of the Tale and Wind and Wuthering were excellent albums in their own right and compare very favorably with the Gabriel era material.

Things went downhill for me as a fan after guitarist Steve Hackket left the band. The followup album And then there were Three is not bad at all, very heavy in Tony Banks keyboards and overall melancholy feel. The single Follow You, Follow Me was preview of the popier sound the band would take in subsequent years. Duke is alright but Abacab to me was a fiasco and I lost interest them afterwards.

  3. i told you i coach college kids. and i've had a-holes like that...i got my own stories and i'm not getting into a pissing contest with you about that. you make them irrelevant by replacing them and being the adult. it's not that hard. if you're the unquestioned leader of your program, you don't let a punk like that get power over you by pushing your buttons. let him sit there like a tool with his sunglasses while you win with his backup.

    :(

  4. Just saw the interview on ESPN and I agree Leach comes off looking small. From the outside looking in, it appears to me that Leach handled the situation incorrectly. There are plenty of ways a coach get teach a prima donna athelete a lesson. Confining him to a "closet" no matter how large it is not one of them. I can't imagine a Joe Paterno or Lou Holtz doing something like this.

  5. He reminds me of of what the psych docs call "arrested adolescent development."

Nasty at best, dangerous at worst. You can see the type in the stands at any NFL game - screaming invectives, telling others it's their "right" because they bought a ticket, fighting, spilling and vomiting on others, hunting down opponents' fans for special abuse, and so on.

I think CLE is cutting their losses...this guy is destined for incarceration IMO.

I agree Cincy. He has been a dissapoitment the past 2 years. I guess the Jets are banking that a change of scenery will get him back to 2007 season levels.

  6. The Trent Edwards era is coming to an end. By next season we will have a new coach and I would expect a new coach is going to want his own guy in there. As for me I have given up hope that Trent is the anwser for us. He may be marginally better than JP but he has the smell of career back up to me.

  7. Since you're "not getting all moral here," I'll add that I'm not a big fan of companies raping their customers with an overpriced product. The business world is full of negotiation, compromise, and gamesmanship -- you should know that.

I agree. I doubt Scott walks into a dealership and pays sticker price for a new car. Directv has made the price of ST negotiable. We just call up and ask what they can do for us as long time customers (12 years). Over the past several years they have offered us generous discounts. I see nothing amoral about that and am I not asking for "free football".

  8. Usually hope springs eternal during pre season. I haven't seen this much pessimism before a Bills season in a long time. Not that it isn't deserved. For me there has been a black cloud hanging over this team since the middle of last season. Probably the losing combined with moving games to Toronto did me in.

Over the cousre of the past several seasons I have gone from hoping to win a Super Bowl, to hoping to make the playoffs, to now hoping the team doesn't move in my lifetime.

It's like the orgainization is on life support and we are watching it die in slow motion.

  9. I disagree, although understandable since it makes for a good headline. Watson was the first to say he lost it all on his own in the press tent, and most golf fans understand that nobody gets a gimme on the big stage, even legends like Tom.

Cink played a great back nine and I thought he remained relaxed in all the pressure situations that used to eat him up. He's a very worthy champion, and a nice guy to boot.

I knew he'd take his medicine like a man, but it’s still remarkable to see a pro athlete (or anyone, for that matter) exhibit the grace that Watson showed in defeat. In all the talk about "old school" this week, that may be the most memorable/gratifying aspect of the tournament for me. Nice to turn back the clock for a weekend...

The put he made on 18 in regulation kept the pressure on Watson. Once Watson overshot the green on second shot I was thinking palyoff becuase all the previous players were overshooting theit puts from that location.
