Good lord James Cook takes over yet another game and this board still finds ways to crap on him.

Holy crap Shakir is our Deebo Samuel. He's going to be good this year.

The amount of James Cook hate on this forum is.... pretty hilarious. He has dropped some untimely passes (that's an understatement) but he was literally sixth in yards from scrimmage in the NFL last year. The only RBs with more were McCaffrey and Breece Hall (whom Cook has a higher rushing avg). He had a higher rushing avg (4.7) and more yards than Travis Etienne, Bijan Robinson, Joe Mixon, Derrick Henry, Gibbs, Saquon, etc. etc. But I guess he's a bum and we should move on from him as quickly as possible.
Yes it sucks that he has problems catching the ball. That's why he's a running back and not a slot receiver. Do I wish he was CMC? Of course. But the Bills could do, and have done, a lot worse than James Cook.

Trading up in this rich WR draft for a kid that is as raw as they come is a terrible move
We need to infuse this team with more talent, and we need to give Josh someone to help him out immediately
A trade up for Thomas II would take away precious draft capital, and he wouldn't be a reliable weapon until he develops
I think most pundits would agree that BTJ has a lot of room to develop, but he literally scored 17 TD in the SEC, against corners that will be drafted into the NFL. Not sure I agree with this take. He is way more pro-ready than you think.

Khalil Shakir. He gets 80+ targets en route to his first 1k season.

I imagine the return man is probably not on the team yet. fwiw Ty Johnson returned kicks in college, so he could be an option.

I feel like Shakir might be critically undervalued by a lot of Bills fans. He only had 45 targets in 2023 but he was extremely efficient whenever we threw him the ball. If he was getting 159 targets like Puka Nacua (who has a bit more size, but plays a similar game and has similar advanced stats) we'd all be talking about how great he is. That being said, we should still draft an X receiver in the 1st

Doesn't quite have the lower body strength for that
I was hoping he'd be more like his brother...in his prime Dalvin Cook was a violent runner
Dalvin Cook in his first two years rushed for 354 and 615. So far, little brother James is beating him at the early stage of his career. James is also clearly the more dynamic weapon today. I have faith that James will continue to produce throughout his rookie contract.

Cook should be sat after that dropped TD
Wrong. Sitting Cook is one of the reasons we lost the Broncos game.

Rasul Douglas.
Garrett Wilson is a threat. He'll be playing a bit slowed potentially by a bum elbow. It's Douglas's chance to lock down the only real receiving threat the Jets have. Make them 1 dimensional and let the run D feast. Bills go up a bit early and now it's Zach Wilson pressed into making plays. This is the way.
