    Diversity makes us stronger

This kind of statement is the stupidest thing that I ever believed at one time. When you say diversity you only mean racially and race is the least important aspect of a person. I live in an area where white people are less than 50% of the population and I am very happy here but the area has no other kind of diversity really. We are involved parents who ensure our community standards are maintained. Everyone is successful financially, expects their children to succeed at school and supports their children. We would not stand for vandalism, or riots, or violence in the streets. When someone broke into a house and was shot, we did not protest for the robber. I will ask one direct question of you, if we put an uneducated black trans person as president of Harvard now would that be an improvement?

  2. I agree we need a WR this year but I think we can most likely wait since there are so many good ones currently coming out and we are not in position to get one of main 3. I am always a BPA guy in general with an understanding that your needs are part of the BPA formula, basically if guys are similar in talent you give bonus points to the position.

https://sports.yahoo.com/official-ncaa-recognizes-ucfs-national-championship-record-book-234835087.html  FSU couldn't be bothered finishing out their undefeated season, so whatever blah blah.

UCF is a 2017 co-national champion.  Considering 1994 as a Penn State fan and the entire 1997 Michigan/Nebraska controversy, I entirely support that undefeated FBS teams should be strongly considered or have a legit shot at the national championship.

That being said, I understand the athletes are well within their rights to opt out but many others do not, some even come back for an extra year because they believe they could win it all.  And if FSU had competed and beaten Georgia in the Orange bowl I would have supported them as a co-champion as the playoff system is inadequate.  But they did not and while I respect their decision to do what's best for them I don't respect the lack of team leadership to finish undefeated.  They deserve no consideration for the national championship IMO.

Hey, when I am being snarky I don't appreciate a well thought out articulate response that I can not argue with at all. Well said, you are being consistent which is all I ask.

  4. Edmunds is a different style LB then what we have now. Comparing him to Bernard or even Dodson is not very effective because the requirements are different. I like Edmunds but at his cost he was not worth it and we have obviously made do with his replacement.

Well, they could have made their case by sticking it to Georgia if they believed in themselves so strongly.  Instead, very many of their best players ran away.  Unimpressive, and maybe the committee made the right decision. FSU fell apart before even taking the field.

These kids at this level play for two reasons, to win championships and make money, they don't care about spending a month prepping for an exhibition game when they can go pro. But to your argument Gary, do you recognize UCF as the 2017 national champ, because they went out and beat the team had throttled Bama?

Apology accepted.  You're clearly an FSU fan.  I love your HC and wasn't happy that your QB got injured.  I'm a Penn State fan and quite frankly am always skeptical when Big 10 teams get into the playoffs due to the uninspiring offenses in the conference.  Defensively they're solid...but you wonder how they'll fare against good offenses with good QB play.  Michigan did not face that today.  I agree that the committee wanted an SEC team in the mix.  Georgia threw a monkey wrench in the works by losing to Bama, so they overlooked an undefeated team in FSU.  Hopefully the playoff expansion will right a lot of wrongs and will remove a lot of the subjectivity.

I am an FSU fan and am still a little salty obviously. I am also a UCF fan and sick of the committee since they don't watch every game of the contenders. I could honestly understand if they simply admitted they have financial obligations they have to fulfill but the lies they tell and changing standards is absurd.

how many draft eligible players on Georgia opted out?

Oregon Tennessee, Wisconsin, LSU all fielded competitive rosters this weekend.

it’s pretty simple.  The CFP easily decided that, with a full roster and a backup QB, FSU would not be competitive in the CFP.  Without their starting QB, they are simply in no way one of the 4 best teams in the country.

why would you or anyone still be struggling with this.

Bama was selected because they needed a SEC team in the final four to ensure tv ratings. If the argument was the best 4 teams then GA is absolutely in the final 4 over Texas and Bama but the committee had to pretend they care about results on field.

Why do you have to be a jerk in your inference?   In truth I thought Florida State's snubbing basically sent the message that any players beyond your starting QB don't count.  I also thought FSU was quite competitive with Rademacher at QB.    So...if the snubbing caused the FSU players to opt out, then shame on the committee.  Did Rademacher enter the portal?

I apologize for the aggressive nature from the jump, many have acted that the snub is not why 8 defenders and 6 offensive starters opted out. The decision for the final 4 was based on money for the TV contract not the talent of team.

Only if their injured starting QB played...which wasn't going to happen.  And you can't predict opt outs and portal transfers .  They are ruining bowl season.

The FSU offense looked better than Bama today with Rademacher with 5 days to plan. Give them a month and he would have been better than that. Also all the FSU players stated flatly they would have played in the playoffs, but you can call them liars if it makes you feel better.

  10. At this point not a prediction but how TF did Bama get into the final 4? There defense is great but their offense is mediocre and their QB is awful. FSU has a much better defense and their offense looked similar when Rademacher had only 5 days to prep. Truly pick GA if discussing best but Bama was not best or most deserving of final 4.

  11. With the amount of money in college football I am surprised it has taken this long to split from the NCAA, especially since they have not had NCAA leadership for at least 20 years as far as championships. Football will need to fix the transfer portal and set up more basic NIL deals across teams but I think of handled well it will help the game as well as the students. The reason I am in support of the change is the NCAA for 40 years screwed the kids to benefit the schools.

  12. I went out to the Big Storm Brewery in Orlando yesterday for the first time since 2021 and the difference in cost is at least 50% more. A meal of nachos, a quesadilla, and 4 pints of beer for me and wife was $65 before tip. There is nothing large or special about the food or beer. Last time I was there it was $50 including tip for same type of order. I do understand that Orlando is now an expensive city but this increase is absurd.

    What?

Hasek was must watch hockey for everybody in the league. His run in the late 90’s was one of the best stretches by any player in any sport. He single handily won the Olympics. Wayne forking Gretzky said Hasek was the best player in the world while he was playing. He is the only goalie to win the Hart trophy twice. And he did it back to back.

Nobody ignored Hasek then woke up in 2010 like “oh shirt, have you seen this excel sheet. I think this Domink Hasek guy might have been pretty good”.

Hasek was as big of a star as the league had to offer at his peak.

It’s insane to say that people across the league didn’t recognize Hasek as a historical goaltender while he was playing. The only way I can wrap my head around this is it’s some sort of weird hipster flex like “oh I liked Hasek before other people liked Hasek”.

To add to it Hasek has 6 Vezina, more than any goalie in the voting era and the only guy with more than half that is Broduer who has 4. Hasek should have been a 3 time Hart trophy winner since his best year he did not win it.

I’m trying to listen to you while the Supreme Court in a state is receiving death threats

    Your a moron

Your side did actual death threats

    https://www.newsweek.com/supreme-court-justices-threatened-murder-roe-v-wade-overturned-1707869

And in Colorado there are  no specific threats

I will also quote the CNN article:

The names of the four Colorado Supreme Court justices who ruled to disqualify Trump from the ballot have appeared frequently in “incendiary” posts on such forums with calls to expose the judges’ personal data, according to an analysis of the online chatter prepared by one non-partisan research organization for US law enforcement agencies that was obtained by CNN.

While the analysis found no specific threats to the judges, it said “there remains a risk of lone actor or small group violence or other illegal activities in response to the ruling.”
