They are supposedly, The World Wide Sports
They even cover WWE on their website.
Is ESPN doing something with the XFL next year?

Different reasons for those blackouts. It's to give local sports networks exclusivity so there's incentive to subscribe. Why else would a network pay millions in rights fees?
What stinks is that you can like not get the local sports network without paying for a full cable or cable-like package, right? Like I'm in the Rochester area and I just use antenna and have a couple of streaming services. I can't order MSG through the Internet without subscribing to a full live TV service, right?

If MLB can do it, hopefully so can the NFL.
I love this. Not because of Apple, just because anyone will have access to it now.
I think MLB was forced by a lawsuit to offer the favorite team option.

Crazy how being on a floundering 6-10 team in the league's smallest market didnt do as much for his brand as being on a Super Bowl winning team in a major West Coast market with (what was) the league's richest owner. Curious. 🤔
One of those unsolved mysteries.

It's interesting to me about how he was an unknown with the Bills and then became this big pop culture star once he left.

If The Rock is watching what’s going on in the USFL, he’ll bail out of XFL, just like Vince McMahon did after 5 gamesCOVID was a big reason for that…

Guys, calm down. It’s not realistic to bring back all the fan favorites back this year.

It won't change the fact that the quality of play won't be as good. All of the top players coming out of college will go to the NFL for the money. The USFL and XFL will get the players who weren't good enough for the NFL.
Most college players can't make a USFL roster either, but we still watch college football.
I would worry about the integrity of games played by players who aren't paid much.

It would take away from the Bills fanbase. Don't the Bills draw a good portion the season ticket base from Toronto? I doubt the Pegula's would be happy with a team in Toronto.
I thought it was less Toronto and more Southern Ontario. Certainly weren’t a ton of Bills fans at the Toronto-series games.

With the Bills assured of staying here for the foreseeable future, how much do we care about Toronto getting an NFL team now?

And only $182M of it is coming from taxes that people pay.
The money from the Senecas could have been used for something else. It's still $600M in state funds regardless of how fungible moneys are earmarked for political purposes.

Amazing world.
This week…Pegulas and Officials announce new stadium and 30 year lease to keep Buffalo Bills in Western New York.
Tonight…during RJ Banner, the Fans at the Key Bank Center showered down an avalanche of ‘Boos’ when the Pegulas were announced.
Maybe Kim Pegula had a point. 🤷.
A point about what? Did I miss a statement?

He seems to. He must be a really nice guy because he as the Jets coach he stood on the sideline with a weird smile for the entire game.
I always thought it was an angry smirk.

All I know is Bowles sucks as a HC. Something tells me Brady will retire again after this season.
Wasn't he the last Jets coach to even get them to sniff the playoffs?

The only difference is the Bills aren't moving. Isn't the new stadium going to be right across the street from the current one. With the Jets going from Queens, NY to NJ was a pretty big move. Most of the fanbase back then came from NYC-LI. Even today some fans wish they would move back to NY (not happening) and its been 38 years since they left.
They almost built a new stadium for the Jets in Manhattan as part of the Bloomberg NYC Olympics bid IIRC.

I am sure most Giants and Jets fans in New York City weren't thrilled about their teams playing in New Jersey either.

I really thought the thread title meant that a poster named Irish Dave died and his family was letting us know. Glad to know that wasn't the case.

I was in Disney during the Jaguars playoff game in 2017/2018. Watched on my phone until the battery gave out. Couldn't believe we picked the one year the Bills made the playoffs to go.
