  1. F that. You're not going to get the kind of pick trade value for a player like Milano coming off injury that makes it worth it. He's so much more valuable to the Bills on the field wearing blue. Let's hope he is fully healthy this year, and he'll be a force for us again.

I say you've taken an overly pessimistic view, in several respects.

He had 670 yards in receptions, which was right around where I expected him to be.  That's a nice total for a rookie, especially for a tight end.  A rookie wideout who starts has an opportunity for some chunk plays that a tight end doesn't get.  So, I'd say his production was pretty good, and I expect it will improve.

Next, I'd say that "he rarely broke tackles" is unfair.   A large number of his catches were essentially dumpoffs over the middle where he was surrounded by defenders.   He's not a big guy who's going to drag those tacklers.   Still, he always goes down going forward, and he gets just about all the yards he can.  He had several plays where he made a move to avoid a tackler and get extra yards, and in particularly he made several to get the first down.    He's not a great open field runner, but he gets ahead in space before he goes down.

Drops.  I agree about that.  He's excellent when he's open, but he isn't so good on contested catches.  In a crowd, he doesn't seem to come down with it as often as he should.

One thing that was apparent was how often Allen's throws were off target.  Some of his drops really were throws where Allen missed the market, and some of his best catches also were on inaccurate throws.

I agree about bulking up.  He looks like he could carry another ten pounds, and then would make him tougher to bring down.

I wouldn't call him a disappointment at all.  However, if he's never better than he was as a rookie, I will be disappointed.  My hope for 2024 is that Brady will have a creative passing attack with Diggs, Samuel, and Shakir attacking all over the field, short and long, and with Kincaid finding plenty of holes as the defenders chase the speed guys.

Agree with this. Kincaid made the most of his somewhat limited opportunities in year 1. I thought they should have been designing more creative downfield routes for him. They used him too much as a simple check down option.

In the playoff game, we FINALLY saw him running a seam route up the middle for a big TD. That was the first time I saw that route all year, and he crushed defenses with it at Utah. I hope they open it up a bit more for him in year 2.

  3. In a cutthroat league where all teams fire even good coaches who don't have immediate winning success, it's truly amazing how a boob like Nate Hackett has failed up and kept high level positions for so many years. He should be studied by science for the hope of future young hacks everywhere in all professions.

People underestimate the talent KC has.  No it's not like when they had Hill but Rice is really good.  Pacheco is really good.  Kelce has lost a bit of a step but is still really good.  Of course there is Mahomes too.  Mahomes also has the ability to take off with the ball differently than Josh but just as effective and demoralizing.  This is going to be a good battle.  Hopefully the Bills come out on top this time.

Agreed. If you haven't been paying attention, Rashee Rice has been getting better and better every game. He's dangerous. It's simply not true that all their receivers stink anymore. They're improved from the last time we saw them, and much improved from early this season.

  5. This is just the thing all the Bills haters across America (mainly Steelers, Dolphins, and Chiefs fans) have chosen to latch onto from this game. They'll always find something. I love that they're crying about a play that Josh juked a defender, ran him the F over, and exploded for a 52 yard all-time playoff TD run from a QB. Ooooh you've really got them now! Good one! Losers 😄

  6. Obviously it's a problem. Dude needs to figure it out, quick. I think he's earned the right to get a shot at redemption. If he has any more kicks like this week though, they really ought to consider bringing someone in. Too much on the line.

Way too cold for snowballs...it's loose powdery snow. Snow only forms good snowballs when it has a lot of moisture in it, probably has to be above 25 degrees for it. I mean someone could always add some liquid tho I guess.

    Beer balls?? Urine balls??

This is good. It will look cool on TV if everyone is throwing powder. Very uncool if snowballs are raining down on the players and Bills get penalized for it.

You just form it in your hands for a few seconds. The heat from your hands melts it enough to have the moisture to form into a spherical projectile.

Bonus points if you hold it long enough to become an ice ball.

    Sheit.

Ya'll know I'm one of the most negative folks here when it comes to this team.

But come on, regardless of if the weather is terrible....the Bills literally have an abominable snowman type of creature of their sideline and the Steelers have a guy named Mason Rudolph. If they are built to win and dominate in this type of game they never will be.

If the Bills do lose this game it's going to be because of coaching (especially ultra conservative decisions), not because of the weather so buckle up and have some confidence in this team!

    Now I know we're f@#%$d.

your source is a bit biased.  Most aren't from Florida, and one of the 5 is from a state without a "stand your ground" law.

It's a law very similar to SYG. Splitting hairs on that. Not sure how you think the source is biased. It just lists 5 cases and strictly the facts of what each case was and the result. Those 5 are just a sampling. I mean if you want to argue that those are aberrations from the statistical norm or something, that's an argument. But that doesn't make the cases listed in that article untrue. There's also a lot more information available to you with a quick google search on other cases where people were shot while running away, shot when there wasn't an imminent threat to the killer's life, etc.

"The law removes a person’s duty to retreat before using deadly force against another in any place he has the legal right to be – so long as he reasonably believed he or someone else faced imminent death or great bodily harm".

The shooter can't make this argument vs an unarmed pedestrian.  It's road rage--as simple and tragic as that is.

Yeah I agree it probably wouldn't fly in this case. But what you are highlighting has also been disregarded by juries in other SYG cases. There are times when people were shot while fleeing, and they still made arguments like "well they could have turned around and come back, so their life was still in danger" to let the killer off. It happens unfortunately.

You don’t have a defense for murder when someone is touching your vehicle.

    Cripes.

Agreed, but reading about some of the crazy cases where people have gotten away with murder in stand your ground states, it shows that there is never a sure thing. Often depends on the personal beliefs of the jury.

  11. 25 minutes ago, Mr. WEO said:

Perp would have to prove he was being threatened with "deadly force" to make that case.

    not happening.

Not sure if you've seen some the Stand Your Ground defenses that have worked down there and in other states, but many juries in Florida have very, very loosely interpreted what constitutes "threatened with deadly force". Yeah, we all seem to think from the details of this case it's a straight up cold blooded murder, but I thought that in some other cases and the killer got off with Stand Your Ground.

People seem to have wildly differing views on what constitutes a "deadly threat" and what justifies someone in killing that person to "protect themselves" with a firearm.

This is so sad. A wonderful road trip to see his Bills beat the Dolphins ends like this. Hope the investigation finds the shooter.

Part of the reason I've learned restraint is because of the number of crazies out there who think they're in an action movie and will just start discharging a firearm with no regard to consequences.

I used to be the guy who would not back down from confrontation, even if there was a fair chance of getting my azz  beat.  Fortunately, I've had a more sensible wife to calm me down, and I sure don't want her in the middle of anything.  I walk away.

As Falstaff said, 'sometimes, discretion is the better part of valor'.

    Prayers for the family.

Plus they have a stand your ground law in place. Since there was a confrontation before the murder, the killer would have a path to try to get off saying that he "felt threatened" by someone touching his vehicle. Would be interesting to see if that defense worked. But since he fled the scene, he probably would have more trouble claiming stand your ground.

I agree with this statement.  Lazy route running causes a lot of interceptions.  Looks like it caused the game winner tonight.

I agree with this 100%. If Hill hadn’t gotten hurt and he is running that route instead of scrub Claypool, that ball is probably right where it needed to be. It’s easy to pin that on Tua, but I think that’s a good example of a terrible WR route.

For drainage reasons when they built the new stadium the field was pitched so water/snow goes to the sides from the middle. Before they put the current turf in and we just had the carpet astro turf it was so serve the arc you could literally see the field height difference. I believe the old crown was 18 inches of height difference from side to middle and the current is more like 6 as they are better with drainage and absorbing the water.

Thanks! Yeah I remember playing on many fields that were set up with different degrees of slope for drainage before. I just never knew it was called a crown.
