  1. In all seriousness, WGAS?!? The Captains walk out to midfield for a coin toss. After that what does it really mean? Not a :censored: thing IMO.

It's all about the W. If we walk away with a win, Rex can do whatever the heck he wants for team captains. But I don't love being the laughing stock of the NFL when Rex trolls all week then lays a deuce on Sunday

  2. Standard procedure for Rex, is it not - to make players captains who are facing their former teams? He's been doing it for years. Only reason we know today instead of Thursday is because he was specifically asked. Doesn't matter. He does it every week. Sometimes they win and sometimes they lose, and who is out there for the coin flip makes no difference.

Standard procedure, yes - but should it be? I love trolling, but it should be reserved for only the right situations, not every week

  3. CJ Spiller only played 6 snaps yesterday. He has 22 attempts for 86 yards on the season. Genius Sean Peyton isn't just failing to get him into space, he is failing at getting him onto the field. Weird, just weird.

Strange to see him with such a small role given how much they're paying him.

  4. This is a pretty weak effort on NFL.com.

    @AroundTheNFL

Rex Ryan's Bills haven't beaten a team with a winning record -- are they primed for a fall? http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000572872/article/four-teams-set-to-tumble-down-the-stretch

It's not exactly an in-depth analysis, but it's pretty spot on. We have only won 3 out of our 7 games, and they came against sub-par teams. The teams we beat have a combined record of 7-15.

That being said, we also lost to some great teams. Let's see how we fare the next two weeks and we will be able to make more accurate judgements

  5. I will never understand how all pro players can be traded for meaningless late round picks. 6th round picks rarely ever amount to anything.

I think if a team can gather a good handful of late round picks, one prospect is likely to turn out well. For an aging TE who hasn't been able to build a connection with your hopeful franchise QB, I think this trade makes decent sense for SF.

  6. What do they have left:

OAK: at PIT, MIN, at DET, at TEN, KC, at DEN, GB, SD, at KC

PIT: OAK, CLE, bye, at SEA, IND, at CIN, DEN, at BAL, at CLE

BUF: MIA, at Jets, at NE, at KC, HOU, at PHL, at WAS, DAL, JETS

JETS: JAX, BUF, at HOU, MIA, NYG, at TEN, at DAL, NE, at BUF

MIA: at BUF, at PHL, DAL, at Jets, BAL, NYG, at SD, IND, NE

So, what you're saying is, we really need a win this week

  7. When it comes down to it, there is probably some penalty or another on every play. It would not be a fun game to see the last two minutes, with coaches throwing flags trying to get refs to call holding on an irrelevant player.

It would be nice if they allow coaches to challenge penalty calls related to players touching or targeted with the ball, simply because these plays tend to be more likely to decide outcomes of games

  8. You are right that it is far from over but it is hard to be optimistic when the bills do the same thing over and over again. Can't move the chains for over a quarter and commit stupid penalties game after game

There are some major question marks no doubt. But with so many new players and coaches, you gotta believe that we need a few games before we can gel as smoothly as the Patriots offense.

There's lies, damn lies, and statistics. Right now the Bills and Jets aren't even on the same planet. Look at games against common opponents, that's your best barometer. We both pounded the colts, and we did a little better against the dolphins. We'll see next week when they play the pats.

Never thought I would be rooting for the Pats this season...

  9. So, we lost yesterday. It didn't look great. But let's look at the big picture here: we are 3rd in the WC race behind the Jets and Steelers. The Steelers are a lock for wild card IMO, they have been finding ways to win even without Ben.

Jets are 4-1 against opponents who are collectively 11-17 (not a single opponent has a winning record).

Bills are 3-3 against opponents who are collectively 20-12 (includes TWO undefeated teams).

We just knocked out the toughest part of our schedule and we are still at .500 - the Jets have been playing NFL teams that resemble the power puff girls.

Yes, there are some major question marks.

No, the season isn't over. Not even close.

  10. Great trade by Whalley. This kid really pisses me off. How about you make a play for your QB instead of getting alligator arms. How about you don't throw you hands up and disrespect your QB when you're a rookie. How about try to play through your boo-boo and help your team.

Wrong. While Sammy may have missed a catch here or there, he has generally been nothing short of first round quality. He saved our butts in multiple games last year. It's not fair to him if he's not getting targets because we're handing the ball off to Boobie Dixon 10 times.
