Formation is how you know who the receivers are and who are not.

the idea is you don’t want players with a running start.  It also cause problem with false start penalties.

It’s about who you need to cover vs who you don’t.  You could modify it a bit such as engagement with a defender thus you could push it to one yd.

the one yard rule also governs other rules.

Point taken on OL downfield, but in terms of players in motion, I was not suggesting they can be going forward at the snap.

Have to say though that Darts almost game winning drive was probably the luckiest and least deserving I have ever seen.

I agree.  Why he was flinging the ball down the field when he needed to move the chains reeked of “Hero Ball”.

If the Bills falter and go int the toilet I will be doing just that.  The college game is better:  more interesting and entertaining.  Heck, even High School football is more fun. Today's crap-fest of games has become the norm as undermanned, injury riddled rosters pretend to play "pro" football.

My beef with college football was the whacked out "playoff" system but they're close to solving that. My guess is that we're within a couple of years of a 16 team college football playoff field.

    Agreed...

    2018 - 6th Rd - Ray-Ray McCloud, 7th Rd - Austin Proehl
    2019 - Nothing
    2020 - 4th Rd - Gabe Davis, 6th Isaiah Hodgins
    2021 - 6th Rd - Marquez Stevenson
    2022 - 5th Rd - Khalil Shakir
    2023 - 5th Rd - Justin Shorter
    2024 - 2nd Rd - Keon Coleman
    2025 - 7th Rd - Kaden Prather

8 Drafts in Josh Allen's career... 9 WR's Drafted... He did trade the one 1st Rd pick for Diggs, but we only get 4 years out of that... Sure...It's 4 good years, but Minnesota's going to get a LOT more from Jefferson... One 2nd Rd pick in Coleman... No 3rd Rd picks... One 4th, two 5th's including Shakir, three 6th's, and two 7th's...

    You're welcome Josh...

  5. These would be my changes…

    - Get rid of illegal formation. The only thing that stays is OL have to be within a reasonable distance of the OC. The “guy is covering up  or not covering up” is dumb and meaningless to the play.

-Allow two or more men in motion at the same time as long as no one is going towards the line of scrimmage at time of snap.

    - Illegal man down field. Who cares.  As long as they don’t catch the ball, let the OL go wherever they want. Specifically, if they are 5 yards downfield on an RPO, so what.

So now we switch to Brady.  OK.  Brady needs to scheme better to get Coleman open and leave Cook in the game in the 4th quarter.

This is simple logic.  Any coach I have ever had, and for any team I’ve coached, you look at what you did poorly and take steps to fix it.  You’re just looking for something to argue about.

Didn’t know you played and coached football.  How silly of me to challenge your statement.  I apologize.

  7. The way Coleman is going, he may not see the end of his rookie contract as a Bill…unless McD & BB let pride get in their way.

As Bob Barker said about Happy Gilmore…”this guy sucks”.
