  1. No slants, no screens, no-end arounds for Sammy. Not one. How do you not design plays to get the ball to Sammy? Also, where was Clay. Not one seam pass down the middle last night. Not one. Terrible game plan by Roman. The All-22 will once again show that Sammy was open lots. Also, thank you for not taking this on to the 900-page Sammy thread.

fully agree, we dont use the middle of the field at all. However itd be nice if sammy could ever stop and go up for a ball. He just keeps running and sticks an arm out...thats it.

  2. Don't be stupid.

like mcdummy.....he is currently the dumbest Bill...used to be spiller...then Aaron Williams took over....but leodis has reclaimed to his role of biggest idiot on the team

I honestly don't think it's an overreaction. The guy got torched his first game back then crapped himself again tonight on MNF. Bare minimum he's not back next year. A street FA could have same "production" at about 1/4 the price

I crapped myself once....wait, it was just now.
  3.

I'd say there are two reasons.

One, even though they don't throw the ball a lot those guys make it easier for the Bills to do everything. Clay is a nightmare matchup problem for defenses. He's fast and also a willing blocker. Teams have a tough time deciding what type of D to play if the Bills go with 22 personnel (two TE/two RB set.) They'll most likely go base and with McFaden and Clay they're going to get LBs matched up on them. They can create mismatches like this if a lot of packages. Clay's ability alone allows the Bills to dictate to the defense. That's not normally the case for a team that wants to run the ball so much. But for Roman's offense it's imperative.

Watkins, with his talent alone, opens up things for everybody else in addition to being a big play threat on every down. He's a young QB's best friend.

The 2nd reason is that you don't sign/draft guys for one year. These guys are going to be here awhile and while the Bills don't have the ability to utilize all their guys to the best of their ability right now it doesn't mean they won't be able to do so a year or two down the line. Get a QB who you don't have to hide and can utilize all those guys and the Bills will be a formidable matchup for anybody.

i didnt know mcfaden was on our team...what is he a rb or TE? whats his number?

  4. Absurd. Thrown in the right place (or just the right side at least ) and theres no reason to jump

lets be real here...sammy cant catch a 50/50 ball...ive said this for 2 seasons now. He hasnt made one here yet. Hes got great hands, great skills, but goes up soft when someones near him. He probably jumped too early because hes not used to even going up for balls in traffic and was nervous because the game just started. He also drops down immediately after the catch if anyone is near. His long gains are all ones where he dipped completely under a tackle or was completely open. He is the opposite of beast mode in that way.

TT does wait too long to throw deep, but has the strength to still put it in stride even still nearly overthrowing guys. Me likes.

Oh and Gilbride must have been drunk the whole time here in Blo, he refused to run on any third and 1 for 2 years. When a defense expects pass everytime, they play pass. We lost alot of games for this reason alone and its why he got the nickname KEVIN KILLDRIVE. Exactly 1 time he ran on a third down, really just to play it safe, the result? a 60 yard TD by Henry straight up the gut. I hate and will always hate Killdrive. Hes an extremely smart idiot. Thats why buddy ryan punched him in the face.

  5. I think we can rush just the four DL and cover with 7. Having someone shadow Gronk and prevent him from releasing from LOS same wit Amendola than just cover everyone else TIGHT!!!

my idea is rush 5 every single play, stay in front of him...he wont run outside the pocket anyway, double and bump gronk then play man everywhere else. that way you got a chance at a sack, a batted ball, and gronk is doubled.

  6.

Everything I said is supported by the facts. He sucked his first two seasons......to the infuriation of Jim Kelly in a year when he really needed him to step up and the rest of his class HAD stepped up. He had tons of legal trouble early on. His ypr dropped steadily after 1998 because of a loss of speed and quickness.

I know people don't like to hear the truth......"enlightener".........but it is what it is.

When I realized that Fitz couldn't throw the deep ball with any accuracy on here and pointed out that teams were going to stop defending it and choke out our short pass and run game I got pages of hate response and denial.

We now know this to be a fact. Just one of many plain-to-see things I've shared with this board.

Sometimes "enlightenment" is taking off the rose colored glasses and seeing things for what they are.

That diving sideline grab that Sammy made against Miami.......getting the elbow down was the subtle excellence of that play........but otherwise not an unbelievable catch by any means and nothing that will end up on a career highlight reel.........Moulds never made one of those.

I have every Moulds Bills game recorded and have seen them all and he just simply never made plays to his right or left. He caught some jump balls but he wasn't actually great at it or you'd have some TD highlights of him doing it.

And I laugh at the notion that he never had any QB's. Kelly, Johnson, Flutie, Bledsoe doesn't read like a list of guys that couldn't get the ball downfield. Not exactly Losman/Edwards there.

One more Moulds stat.....according to police reports....he could lift a 100 pound woman 18" off the ground by the neck.

moulds johnson td miami 1998 youtube it. leaping grab over t-buck- nuff said

kelly didnt ever say he was furious w moulds, moulds only had 1 rookie season w kelly(his last), hardly enough to judge, then had todd collins in 1997(a joke) then blew up in 98 when finally featured in the offense.(kinda like SJ)

if you ever read my posts youd see i call out loser players YEARS before everyone else here does(t edwards,TO,sj,spiller, aaron williams(in progress))

Ive always supported flutie,Fitz, moulds, lee evans, goodwin, ie -guys w brains and/or speed. moulds losing speed as years went is common to every player and stats worsening are due to flutie being replaced by johnson then van pelt, then holcomn. He had 5 YEARS of yp catch over 12 after 98, SJ never had higher than 12...ever. Moulds had a 20 ypc season in 98 so of course it would go down from there genius.

lastly you had to use sammys very last game for an example. while im not against him, i did call him out since week 2 last year for being soft and underperforming, it took til the end of the season for writers to catch on. It took til week 3 this season for the board to catch on. He still hasnt caught a single 50/50 ball as a bill...he is great at short and deep stuff though, just nothing thats contested, and he goes down on contact quicker than a girl on prom night.

your enlightenment is free...please refrain from calling your opinions "facts"

  7.

Putting up numbers like his classmates from that draft class in his first two years would have helped his cause.

He was too busy keeping the Bills legal counsel busy by beating his women and fighting paternity suits.

But more importantly he lost speed and quickness by the early 2000's.

In 1998 he was the greatest receiver the Bills ever had for one season....but his ypc just kept sinking after that year and he never really adapted his game the way a comparable physical receiver like Anquan Boldin has.

As he got older he was still trying to beat DB's with speed and quicks that he no longer had and when it didn't work he just b*tched for flags like nobody we've seen before or since.

Not a great route runner or hands guy and while it wasn't really his body type to be acrobatic....it bears mentioning that he never made those sprawling grabs that we got used to seeing from so many receivers of that era....which decreased his catch radius despite having very good hops.

Talented receiver but he couldn't hold Sammy Watkin's jock in terms of overall talent and he didn't have the intelligence and discipline to be an Andre Reed whether he had a great QB or not.

the more I read the more clueless I see you really are....please don't ever post again...since you post lies and total misperceptions....moulds did make many acrobatic grabs, and actually owned people on jump balls, something Watkins hasn't made one of since being a Bill.
  8. TNF 2012

    Dolphins (of course)

good call, i didnt remember that one at all. so other than that we hadnt won since 2001 when we defeated the mighty jags 13-10 on thurs night (one of the 5 career games rob johnson actually won), that mon game vs nyj shouldnt count as it wasnt really televised like a primetime game.

  9. I was thinking back to the last primetime game we actually won because we seem to always lose them in stunning fashion ( the edwards-jauron-cowboy debacle...mcluvins fumble - refs beating us last year vs dolphins) I seriously cant remember a win after flutie tore it up in 2000 on sun night football. Has it been that long!?!

edit- so we won exactly 1 primetime game since 2001- 19-14 dolphins bills 2012. Jeesh we suck on primetime.

  10. Gilmore had his worst game of the season. Think he has been very good otherwise.

i called him out before the game for having more pi's than ints, today he had more penalties than passes defended. He just doesnt turn his head around. Darby is what we all wanted n gilmore. gilmore is overated. I hope we dont overpay him when we can sign 2-3 other guys with his money. Oh and mckelvin looked pretty darn good after not playing for a year!

  11. Name someone who was? Eric Moulds maybe but you cant name another WR we have had that can be mentioned with them

    Damn dude.

yes! moulds definitely, But people here were saying SJ was better. Evans had about %50 more total production as well to date, and was far better as far as actually making tough catches. All SJ ever did was go over 1000 yards 4 times in a row along with big drops, fumbles and penalties. Peerless Price was a better talent wise than SJ too, we just coudnt resist trading him or hed probably have out produced him as well. In fact SJ had only slightly better numbers than josh reed especially considering he got to be our go to guy for 5 years. Josh was a starter once! and once SJ was put around other good receivers on a team he quickly slid to their #3 or 4 spot.

    anyway, go bills!

  12. why oh why d you all forget how hard it was for us to get an LT?

we got very lucky w Peters, drafting him as a TE, then we had one good year with his fill (carl malones son) who left the next year...and sucked...We got Glenn in the Second, he plays as good as some first rounders taken. Now we are all OK with letting him go?

We already have 2 starting quality CBs, and Gilmore isnt really all that. The guy doesnt turn his head around way more often than darby was accused of, and he gets more PI calls than Picks in a season.

I say keep woods and glenn, Bradam and gilmore can be replaced.

  13. FA in 2017. Type of player we may want to lock up early. He's been durable and productive as a #2 WR. 2nd round pick, Whaley seems to like him.

Watkins is a superior talent but he's been in and out of the lineup this year. I would like to see Woods extended for some stability in the WR corp.

its a no brainer, most consistent productive wr since SJ. and we dont even have to argue for years on end on whether hes a #1 or #2.

Hes a great #2 good attitude, and a better talent than SJ ever was, funny how many people anointed him our best WR ever since Reed.

  14. A perfect example of the "blind squirrel" school of football scouting. The same fans wanted Geno Smith, Ryan Mallet, Blaine Gabbert, Tim Tebow, etc, etc, etc. Don't break yer arms patting yourselves on the back.

yes but had we taken a qb every year in the later rounds and not traded away picks for quys like losman and watkins, we would have probably landed a derek carr, russel wilson, tom brady, aaron rogers breese or someone whos good, if they didnt work out or our free agent was better we could have traded him for more picks....like how we gave a number 1 for drew bledsoe.

  15. if you read the last "sentence" or two he uses the wrong words entirely, not typos or spell check, he says "once" in place of "wants" "go one" instead of "go on" not to mention he says we all have "little jobs" so i guess only jobs like actor singer or ball catcher are real big jobs. People like soldiers teachers scientists and doctors have little jobs.

F softy sammy, i called him out since week 3 last year as a soft player, now i see his mind is just as soft as his body.
