  1. No offense, but I'm still trying to figure out why folks believe Jordan will be there at the 8th pick...he's a top 4-5 pick at worst.

No offense taken. You never know who may drop...he's my first choice if he does. There is the injury factor plus the one year wonder effect that may play into this scenario. But I agree he's a top 5 talent IMO.

  2. Rd 1 LB Alec Ogletree Geo. 6-3 243 Buddy gets his pick,I can live with it.

Rd 2 WR Robert Woods Great hands and route runner 6-1 201

Rd 3 QBs Either Mike Glennon N.C.St. 6-7 225 or Tyler Bray 6-6 232 Tenn.

Both have cannon arms and need a little more coaching.

I would not be upset if things fell this way at all...Ideally I'm not that high on Ogletree but I like picks 2-3. My first pick #8 would be (if no QB) DE/OLB's D. Jordan, Jones or OL.

  3. Just back from a trip from the West Coast and rumours from Seattle fans is Flynn is on the trading block and Bills may be one of the teams interested. I have not heard this anywhere - anyone else heard this? How about Kolb as an option ?

I pray that we don't go down this road again (Rob Johnson) especially if it cost a premium pick...5-6th rd at best. I'll even throw in a conditional pick, hell we basically gave them an All-Pro RB for a 3rd & 4th rd pick, smh...they're way ahead dealing with this inept cast of characters, IMO.

  4. How is Cosell more qualified than Brooks? He's never been a scout at the NFL or any level. All he does is watch tape and gives his opinion much like Bucky does. The only qualifications Greg Cosell has is that he is the nephew of Howard. Brooks was employed as a NFL scout and played in the league.

Good question. I would love to read the answer...

  5. Dion Jordan is a difference maker at DE/OLB. He gives us the pressure rusher we need. I really think Manuel has IT. Get some help at LB, WR, and OL later or in FA. Those are the 2 rookies I want most.

I would love for the draft to fall this way for us...EJ has the tools for the present NFL. He may start out a little rough but he played in a pro set offense, a film junkie and has the leadership qualities to succeed IMO. Jordan is the edge rusher plus the length (6'-7") built a lot like Aldon Smith with comparable agility...

  6. Jamarcus Russell

    2006 Passer rating of 167.0, 67.8%, 3129 yds, 9.1 yds/att, 28 TDs, 8 int

    just sayin

Your point being...What does JR stats has to do with Geno Smith's? By all accounts they're totally different in their approach football wise...please elaborate, if you could.

What's your criterion for future NFL QB's?

All these guys coming out of college have skills & abilities...that's why they're in the discussion as potential future NFL'ers. But if their skills are not a good marriage for the team or coaching staff's scheme implemented, it's a concoction for disaster...

  7. Also, there was nothing special about that performance.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought this...I thought it was a joke at first while watching the "highlights". Seems like an average run of the mill college QB, as a matter of fact very similar to Fitz, IMO.

    5th Rd- Priority FA

  8. Sounds strange. Maybe he doesn't fit the blocking sceme they plan to run.

    Ding,ding, ding....that's my thought.

Levitre's a good guard if the scheme is finesse or zone blocking but Marrone appears to favor the big inside blockers similar to what he had in New Orleans. Maybe he wants more of a power blocking scheme with the playaction (WC Offense) and that's not Levitre's strength, IMO.

  9. I would say that giving Levitre 6.5M-7M a year is a worthy contract. I'd say he's earned it.

Yes I firmly believe he is the Bills best O-Lineman. Look at all of our O-Line players.

Eric Wood is a solid at times spectacular player, but injuries are a big concern.

Kraig Urbik is another solid player, may not be all-pro, but has more positives than negatives.

Erik Pears does a good enough job at RT, like Urbik he is no all-pro, but he's not a weakness either.

Cordy Glenn has the potential to be the star of this line, but he's only had one season of experience. Like I said, the potential is there to be great, so we'll wait and see.

I also want this O-Line to remain intact, because it has become a strength of the Bills offense. As a unit this line has given good pass protection and run blocking. I would hate to see this unit lose one of it's key players.

I am far more comfortable with Levitre at LG, than I am with Rinehardt.

Could not have said it better.

I can spend someone else money just as easy but it really comes down to what type of offense Hackett & Marrone wants to run. Like I stated previously just because you think Levitre is the "best" OL on the team. The issue is where is he slotted league wide because that's the comparable, IMO.His strength is in his mobility and trapping...If that's not the offensive philosophy of the new staff or if they want to employ a power running game. This is not his strength, I don't know but they're has to be a reason they haven't completed a deal. Or made him the priority...

  10. Levitre is our best O-Lineman.

If the Bills must overpay, then do it.

Besides, the Bills can always restructure his contract in the future.

So because he's our best (which is debatable & relative) does that mean you pay him as elite?

It all depends on Hackett's philosophy run wise, if its road graders type power football, does Levitre fit that scheme? I don't think that's his strong suit. If it's more trapping & pulling then yes you pay him because that's what he does best, IMO.

  11. You guys are really high on this guy. Is this the home town over value? He's promising and serviceable but not dominant in any phase, IMO...he's listed 8th best at his position, I will add they're is some upside from this report but far from elite. BTW, in this report he's one spot higher than his teammate C. Rhinehart maybe that's a starting point...

  12. If it came down to those three for the Bills, I'm taking Manuel all day here why:

    1. He's been describe as a student of the game & a leader. He had young players at the skilled positions this year and never thru them under the bus for not running proper route. Also at the start of the year his mom was diagnosed with cancer and he gutted it out hanging tough while getting off to a bad start.

    2. Size, height & athleticism in comparison to the other two. He's closer to a bigger stronger version of R. Wilson, IMO.

    3. Career starts against better competition and conference opponents.

    4. From these stats provided, he appears to spread the ball down the field better...

  13. Analytically speaking, of course. B-)

Flacco set the record for the 3 cone drill at the combine for a QB. Just because he is tall and lanky doesn't mean he can't move; he can and exceptionally well, in fact.

    https://twitter.com/...840558491832321

It wasn't just that he could move but until this year he hadn't showed that he could also throw accurately while moving out of harms way ala Big Ben.

Are you sure about setting records at the combine? Or was that for his QB class...I'll also add timing in drills doesn't equate to real game speed...I still see Deion Sanders hawking Don Beebe (and his 4.37 time 40yd) in the game against Atlanta on a KO return where Don had a good 10 yd advantage. Do let me bring in the ultra fast J.D. Williams who was burnt on the regular when he played here...too many others that trained religiously to master those combine drills.

  14. I really don't care about ability to run. Movement in the pocket and pocket awareness are much more important. That is what makes Brees and Rothlesberger so dangerous.

Again I will take a pocket passer. I am sure they had this arguement when Tarkenton was playing. Even Steve Young was a pocket passer when he won. Mobility can't hurt unless running gets the QB hurt.

I understand your point but with these aggressive defense's you have to admit that the statuesque pocket passer is now obsolete...the pocket passers that your referring to are not your dad's pocket passer. Hell even heavy-footed Flacco has learned to throw on the move, IMO. Of the traditional QB's that I grew up watching only young Farve & Marino (because quick release & presence in the pocket) could play in this day & time.

  15. Okay if it was the GM and not the head coaches fault then it looks like we got rid of the wrong guy and have the same problem

Now I'm convinced that OBD is a joke...but if this is true Chan has changed his story. When he was asked about prospects & potential players in the draft, he said that he didn't like to sit in on those discussions with the GM & scouts. Because his job was to coach the players provided to him and so NOT to have a bias against a player if he & a scout didn't see eye to eye on a prospect. He can't have it both ways...I'm in the theory of B. Parcell's there if I'm going to cook the meal, let me at least shop for the groceries. Chan had it the way he chose and it didn't workout...

Flacco, Manning, Rodgers, Brees, Roethlisberger, Manning, Manning, Roethlisberger, Brady, Brady.....

I think pocket passer is th epath to a SuperBowl win....

Kap & wilson are pocket passer that can also run. You can include Rogers, Big Ben & Brees with this breed (Roth's just slower IMO) but these guys tuck the ball & run if the see man coverage from the def...esp Rodgers.

  16. I don't think this guy has made a play since he was drafted two years ago. He gets burned on almost every play that he is in on. And his Twitter rants are disrespectful to Bills Nation. See link:

    http://www.trendingb...know-your-role/

What is worse he was drafted right ahead of Andy Dalton and Colin Kaepernick? Good job Buddy.

When he was drafted I quickly reviewed all reports about him and nothing stood out that justified him being rated so high. Plus I'm leary of underclassman going pro that lacks game changing qualities e.g. ball-skills, turnovers and instincts...It seems that OBD doesn't view these as important characteristic for the position. I'm still hoping that this coaching staff will use some of the qualities that were deem encouraging after his junior year e.g. blitzing ability from the slot and run support. Time will tell...
