  1. Does anyone else think its unfortunate we played at San Francisco, at Houston & at New England?

We are basically 4-3 in winnable games if you count our home game vs. NE. The game that kills me is the Tennessee game 34-35. We have to win this game because of it.

In our 5 games after count us as dogs vs. Seattle & at Miami. If we finish 9-7 which I think we will we may have a shot at the post season.

  2. Is Fitz good enough to take a team to the playoff? Yes.

Is he good enough to overcome this horrid defense? No.

Fitzpatrick lies somewhere in between serviceable and better than avg. A QB like that can win games in this league w a good HC, a good OL, good running game and a good D. See Trent Dilfer, Mark Rypien, Doug Williams, Jeff Hostetler, Brad Johnson and Jim Mcmahon. I would take Fitz over any of them. Fitz has a good OL and a good running game, thats it.

Couldn't agree more. Look at Jay Cutler, Eli Manning, Matt Schaub, Phillip Rivers, & Tony Romo. These guys reputations as good but below elite QBs is based entirely on the fact that they have: A - an elite receivers (Cutler, Manning, Schaub, River, Romo), B - an elite defense & special teams (Cutler, Manning, Schaub), C - an elite head coach (Manning).

It should come as NO surprise that the QB with the elite coach is the only guy above who has a Super Bowl ring.

  3. Remember last year the first 7 games? Fitzpatrick was 5-2 thanks in large part to a defense & special teams that made huge plays. If our defense doesn't create turnovers and our special teams is pedestrian than of course our average QB won't look good. Look at Jay Cutler in Chicago. I saw a stat the other night saying the Bears Defense & Special Teams accounts for 21% of their total scoring, which is something like 9% higher than the next team.

If Ryan Fitzpatrick was in Chicago the Bears would likely be 6-3 or 5-4. Right now they are 7-2, but I'd argue they'd still be a winner with Fitzpatrick.

  4. I think this is a game where turnovers, defense and special teams will decide the outcome.

If Ryan Fitzpatrick's stat line is 18/30 185 yards, 0 tds 0 ints, I like our chances more than a 27/42 295 yards, 1 tds 2 ints game.

Quite simply Fitzpatrick should not be the focal point of our offense. We need to limit his drop backs and subsequently his turnovers. Fitzpatrick has also been fumbling at an alarming rate.

Giving Miami short fields is a certain recipe for a loss.
