  1. Pro football is currently the most popular sport in the US. However, it may have reached its peak of popularity.

Because of the inherent physical dangers of the sport, the NFL has recently changed many of its rules with regard to contact. As a result of these rules (which are subjectively enforced), the quality of the sport is likely to decline in the future. Also, with more information about the risks of playing the sport, less parents will allow their children to play football. This may lead to a smaller population of superior athletes who play the sport in the future.

  2. I would say Maybin is the worst, but McCargo has gotta be pretty close behind. Did either of the M&M brothers even start? Our defense has been atrocious the last few years, and these guys couldn't even get on the field.

It's funny that there are teams out there that have given these losers second, third and fourth chances based on them being #1 draft picks. It obviously means a lot. I think Maybin is with the Bengals right now. Not sure about McCargo, but I remember reading that some teams were kicking the tires with him as late as last season.

  3. I wonder if more people would be upset had OBD ponyed up the doe to re-sign Levitre than those who think we should not have let him walk. The dude is a freakin' right guard! He isn't even an elite one at that. It's not like he was going to lead us to a Super Bowl or anything. He is not even a good run blocker. I bet no one will even notice he is gone once the season starts.

Marrone is a former offensive lineman. He will make sure we continue to get the best out of the O-line. The probability is pretty high that we will draft an O-lineman in the middle to late rounds of the upcoming draft. Most teams do this every year, the Bills are no exception.

  4. Yeah, Levitre's success may have been because he was with the Bills. A lot of O-linemen have trouble changing teams and gelling with their new fellow linemen. Look at Jason Peters and Detress Bell. A team like the Bills can't afford to pay huge money to an above average lineman. Good for Levitre for getting the big payday. As a former lineman and a man who understands that the game is won in the trenches, there is no way Marrone will neglect the Bills' O-line during his tenure.

  5. I know it is impossible to compare stats of QB's from the '70s against those of modern day QB's, but I was wondering if Joe Ferguson was considered a good, mediocre or poor QB during the time he played? I was too young to remember Ferguson playing, although I did have his 1985 Topps Football card with him in a Bills uniform. My memory only goes back to Jim Kelly as the Bills' QB.

  6. Hanging banners isn't change. I just don't see pros being moved by the 4 banners in the practice dome.

Our team always looks like it is getting pushed around on the field. What do you think would move the players? Does Marrone have to tell the players some bedtime stories about winning, or does he need to do something drastic like getting into a fight with Bad Billy Belicheat to get the guys to play hard?

  7. Marrone didn't have to say any of those things. As an SU fan, I gotta say that he is pretty good at handling reporters. I can't think of any other head coach I would want to lead this team than Marrone. If he doesn't get the team a winning a record, I will be convinced that no one can and it will be a waste of time to root for a team in the same division as the Cheatriots.
