  1. I actually think the current uniforms are the best they've had. The 2000 era was simply pathetic with that navy blue. Who the hell designed those??

    I agree. We have one of the best looking uniforms in the NFL right now. I, for one, love the white helmets too. I think they're way better than red.

  2. If the Jets beat the Pats, we have a decent shot at winning the division. They still have to play Houston and San Francisco. If they lose both, they are 7-6, if Miami upsets them in Miami, they are 7-7 going into the final two games. If we win out, we win the division. Unlikely, sure, but I don't see the Jets as a legitimate threat for our playoff spot. I'm concerned about Indy and Cincy. Pittsburg comes back into the fold if Big Ben returns soon - and there's a decent chance he'll be back week 13.

  3. There are a lot of different scenarios that can play out here. I'm surprised that it's about as easy to find one that gives us the division as it is to find us a wild card.

    If we lose to Indy, we would have to win out and the Colts would most likely have to lose to the Titans at home and KC on the road. I'm giving them the week 17 win against Houston because just about all of the scenarios I see have them locking in the 1st seed by then.

    Need another week or two to pass by to clean it up a bit.

  4. for what it's worth, regarding the sudden Kaepernick hype: here's Trent Edwards numbers from his first career start (17-14 win over Jets): 22 of 28 for 234 yards, with TD and interception.

    perhaps should wait a week or 2 before krowning Kaepernick king.

    then again, in this day and age, all bets are off given the need to instantly place a label on everything and everyone. afterall, espn, this evening, enshrined not one, not two, but three active players into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. didn't even realize they had a vote.

    Statistically, they might have been close. But Kaepernick looks way better than Edwards did. He is more athletic - able to escape the pocket and still get off a nice throw OR bust a huge run, his arm is ridiculously strong and he also read the defense remarkably well. When they started running the wildcat offense this year everyone said that he was a Tebow 2.0, but really, I think he's closer to an RG3. He has the arm and the legs, but can also stand tall in the pocket and make a great pass. RG3 is obviously incredible, but Kaepernick also has the potential to be great, he just needed some time for development.

  5. I'd be happy if I never saw the Bills run another Wildcat play and I really don't like the empty backfield plays either. Why would you want to make yourself so obviously one dimensiional for the defense?

    The empty backfield is designed for mismatches and what not. I don't mind running empty backfield sets occasionally or in situations where we need to get down the field fast, but running them on 3rd and short is even more annoying than the wildcat.

  6. E, you know me, I never lost optimism :thumbsup:

    I also like the fact that the team we are chasing has some of the same chitty sheduling luck we had..namely they had a late Sunday game, followed by a game with a team(Bills) on 10 days rest, then they have to travel to road game agaisnt a desperate team that will also be on 10 days rest ,with both of those games at home for the Lions.

    First things first, we gotta win this game. But if we do, I fear Cincy more than Indy has the best chance to grab that last spot.

    Okalnd

    @Chargers

    Cowboys

    @Eagles

    @Piitsburgh

    Baltimore

    I can see Cinci winning every one of those games..They have played some good ball last two weeks.Why we need Pats to continue to win, keep pressure on BMOre and Texans to final game for the Bye

    I see Cinci going 7-9. Maybe 8-8, assuming Big Ben isn't out too long. Dallas is going to be fighting all year and I expect Philly to make their usual late season push. They will win at most one of those two games. I expect Pittsburg and Baltimore to fight to the finish, if not for the division than for the bye.

  7. There's a significant difference between hope and expectations. I don't think any of us who are discussing possibilities are actually expecting them to happen. What's the harm in discussing scenarios for a playoff berth?

    Edit: To keep things in perspective for the Pessimist Pattys... The Bills SOV (strength of victory) is .275, third worst in the league. Basically, it's very unlikely for the Bills to do anything with this season, but it's still mathematically possible, so who knows. :)

    It's funny, I thought the Chiefs were going to be a decent team when we played them in week 2.

  8. The Bills defense still played poorly especially in that 4th Qtr.

    At the Dolphins 1-yard line with the game on the line.

    1st down - 1 yard rush

    2nd down - 7 yard rush

    3rd down - 17 yard catch and run.

    Unbelievable!

    Couldn't stop them when it counted. Finally, the Dolphins QB makes rookie mistakes in throwing the ball.

    I wouldn't call Byrd's INT a rookie mistake by Tannehill. That was an incredible play by Byrd.

    Statistically, our D was WAY better than they've been. And you could see them playing with heart all night long. They started to slip at the end, but we made the plays we needed to. Think about the other times our D has screwed up easier INTs than those ones tonight. Wilson in the Tennessee game, Scott and McKelvin on Sunday. The D played well tonight.

  9. Yeah, we need them to win. If the Colts beat them, we probably have a better chance at chasing down New England for the division than grabbing a wild card. Which is to say, our playoff hopes are even slimmer. I am counting on the Colts losing most of their remaining games: @NE, @Houston, @Detroit, plus us and another against Houston week 17, which may be affected by Houston's standing going into the game.

    If we get to the playoffs, unless we really get rolling, I do not see much success. !@#$ NE. I will not cheer for them.

    I don't know about you, but I'd still like to see us in the playoffs. It's been far too long.
