  1. Let' hope Kyle Moore and Nigel Bradham can light a fire under their A$$"s and right the ship... Go Bills

Seriously. I think Bradham was the only guy on the D who didn't give up last week. I hope he comes out strong today!

There are NO leaders on this team and the defense is a soft as a bowl of Mari0's soaked in milk.

Speaking of MariO's, how totally presumptuous of TOPS to make this cereal before he even played. Flutie Flakes weren't manufactured until after he won us games.

  2. It's good to read an upbeat piece for this game. I agree with you, I feel like we're going to take this one. Their O-Line and Running Game is awful, which compliments our awful pass rush and run defense. We've got some new guys (or old guys like Kelsay) stepping in looking to make their mark. Bradham was probably the only guy who didn't give up last week and I'm looking for a solid effort from him in his first start. I'm just hoping Gilmore makes some good plays. With the way the Cardinals O-Line is playing, as long as Gilmore presses hard on Fitzgerald and keeps with him for a few seconds, that'll be enough for the pass rush to get to Kolb and force him to throw elsewhere or take a sack.

The offense is going to have a tougher time, but I'm hoping we can run it better this week and also not get dug into a hole by the defense or turnovers.

  3. Not surprised with all the peeps saying the Bills would lose. After these last 2 weeks I understand.

But I hope they win or they are going to have to win 8 out of 10 just to make the playoffs.

They lose and the season is almost toast.

More or less. I say we need to go 4-3 into the bye week. That's where I had them at the beginning of the season. It's possible if we play like we're supposed to.

  4. Exactly what I was thinking. If the bench is providing your leadership, do you really have any?

    kj

I don't think it matters that he is the third back. Somebody needed to step up and say something. The guy who gives the speeches doesn't need to be on the field all the time. In fact, it would help that a guy like Choice, on the sidelines most of the time, takes on a leadership role like that because he can constantly speak to his team. Plus, Choice has proven that he will play hard when he does get on the field.

I'm happy this guy is stepping up.

  5. Gailey has no visible emotion. I wish we had a coach like Harbaugh who is always pacing around and yelling about the smallest things. He cares about every little thing. At the same time, I can see why at a certain point, Gailey could do no more than just stand there, defeated. The problem is he kind of looked like that early in the game.

  6. Everyone talks about our lack of depth at WR. Yet we consistently go 5 wide and put the ball into the hands of one of the worst QBs in the NFL.

Yeah. CJ or Fred often start in the back and motion out. What for?

I hope your right but Zona has a very good D. That would be a big road win.

I think Arizona is a winnable game. Kolb isn't a great QB either and they have no running game whatsover. Getting the ball to CJ is all we need to do.

  7. Thing is, though I agree, Spiller was open on that 3rd down play. Picks missed him. Again.

Spiller was responsible for so much of our offense in the games we won. We could count on him to do just about anything. He made the big plays we needed him to. Big rushes, plenty of yars after catch. We could dish out a short pass and let him do the rest with his legs. He is just an incredible player. I can understand the lack of production coming off the injury, and I do understand that the 49ers are one of the best defenses in the league, but he was entirely under-utilized today. He has MVP potential, we just need to give him the ball like we did in weeks 2 and 3.

  8. It's really irritating to see no fire whatsoever in Gailey. Harbaugh has so much passion and he gets riled up over, seemingly, the smallest things. Nothing can elicit an emotional reaction from Gailey, ever.

I also feel like we're giving up on the run too soon. The 49ers D is ridiculously good, but we have good backs. CJ can cut up any defense. Not every play is going to be huge, but I feel like as soon as we get a 2-3 yard run we go back to the pass for a few plays. KC ran some 12 straight plays on Baltimore and moved down the field just fine. CJ can do that. Freddy hasn't looked like himself since returning from injury, but I think he's still capable too. I'm sick of seeing so many empty backfield plays.

    Or Mallet twice!

    Or Foles, Wilson, Cousins

I had a good feeling we were going to grab Foles or Cousins. They look really promising with their respective teams and I'm a little jealous.

  9. This was the second week in a row Kolb was sacked more than 8 times. The results were an effect of more than a good St. Louis defense. Phoenix is weak up front on O and have a QB that cannot make quick decisions. We can exploit this with our D plus put up 24+ points on offense and win.

I do see a win here - their 4-0 start was a fluke. They are a good team, but not top 10. Even if the Rams have a better defense than us, they absolutely crushed the Cards' O. A slightly worse defense can still get it done pretty easily. Didn't Miami also register eight sacks?

  10. Updated pick #1

First off I'm not a real stat guy so hopefully that translates into some cool jinx. But I have some stats that will back my pick. Doh.

Cedric Benson ran 9 carries for 18 yards against San Fran. Yeah I know, CBenson is not the same dude from Cinci.

Kevin Smith 16 for 53 against San Fran. Yeah I know, Detroit is not currently known for their run game.

AP (Adrian Peterson) THE Adrian Peterson. 25 for 86. Respectable #s and a win for Minn.

Shawn Greene 11 for 34. Shawn sucks. But still, only 34 yards...

When our run game is hot, we win games. Will we run all over the 49ers? I doubt it. Of course anything is possible. Our oline has a shift change. Our rbs are not at their healthiest.

Obviously their offense is not elite and we could have a great bounce back game like we did in KC (I would love this!!!!!)

    Having said all that.

    San Fran 34

    Bills 23

I don't think the Niners will cover the spread. As long as we stop the run, the Niners' offense is easy to control. Not to say they won't still win, but I think it'll be better than many think.

  11. I dont think you guys realize that St Louis has one of the best defenses in football. This was no coicidence. Chris Long and Robert Quinn are FARRRRRRRRRRRRR better than our DE. Their LB are always FARRRRRRRRRRRRRR better than ours. Their secondary is FARRRRRRRRRRRR better than ours. We have a fairly explosive offense, and the Rams dont. Especially without Amendola. Thats our advantage in this game. Certainly not abusing Kevin Kolb.

    Not to mention better coaching.

  12. 1) If they would have ran a pitch to Spiller like in the KC game, even if that's what NE was expecting, I think C.J. would have gotten the TD. When they lined up that's what I was waiting for and I couldn't believe Chan tried that play instead. Bad call on so many levels.

    2) Not much else to say there. Gronk is obviously a remarkable talent, but we hardly put up a fight. The only guy who made plays on Gronk was Gilmore, and he wasn't even assigned to him. He stopped at Gronk TD twice. If he made that interception in the endzone, we would have had the chance to tie it back up.

  13. Now that the Niners have unleashed their wildcat with Kaepernick, I think they've got the potential to score a whole lot more than they used to. Justin Smith can get more pressure on the QB than our entire DL at this point, and we are down two starters on our OL. I really don't see this as a win. We have a much better chance at taking down the Cardinals the following week.

That being said, if we did win the game by a solid margin, I would be relieved, but we still need another big win like that to prove that we are a contender.

  14. I watched a lot of Kaep's college games and he really is a remarkable talent. I believe he's got the potential to be not just a better Tebow, but a better Vick. He is big, fast and he's got a cannon. Not many QBs like him. Frankly, I don't see Harbaugh letting him go. He's probably going to start for the Niners next year if he continues to grow and perform as he has.

  15. I think you underestimate Miami a little. They gave AZ all they could handle Sunday and Tannehill seems to be improving weekly.

Agreed. We got slammed by these guys last year. Tannehill's rookie mistakes will probably be tempered by the time we play them. I definitely think we should be them, but we all know how it goes. I see us hitting 4-5 by the first Miami game. A winning record really isn't out of the question, but as others have said, Cincy is looking like a lock on wild card 1, we can only hope San Diego or Denver don't end up competing for that second one.

The conference is definitely weak enough to slip in, or even make it convincingly. I'm keeping the faith.
