  1. I was watching the game on TV...and getting really pissed off....at half time I lit a bunch of candles on top of my tv stand just below my Jim Kelly poster (I know he wasn't playing but it was worth a try) in a shrine to get the team rolling. After the pick for a TD I didn't think it was going to work, but obviously it did! I was late for work that day and my brother was calling me (worked with me) asking when I was planning on showing up, the boss was not happy. I told him I was about to see the greatest comeback ever and I wasn't going to miss it. I was worth it.......

I just watched the comeback 2 nights ago on DVD.....man so many things had to go our way for that to happen, I will never get tired of watching that game. Wish I was there.

  2. Here are some quotations for you and friend VikingGumBoot... :censored:

"Nobody can be so amusingly arrogant as a young man who has just discovered an old idea and thinks it is his own." - Sydney Harris

"You are only young once, but you can stay immature indefinitely." - Ogden Nash

"You are young, my son, and, as the years go by, time will change and even reverse many of your present opinions. Refrain therefore awhile from setting yourself up as a judge of the highest matters." - Plato

"Every generation laughs at the old fashions, but follows religiously the new." - Henry Thoreau

"When I was younger I could remember anything, whether it happened or not."- Mark Twain

"When I was a boy of 14, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be 21, I was astonished at how much the old man had learned in seven years." - Mark Twain

"George Washington, as a boy, was ignorant of the commonest accomplishments of youth. He could not even lie." - Mark Twain

"Youth is easily deceived because it is quick to hope." - Aristotle

"Remember that as a teenager you are at the last stage of your life when you will be happy to hear that the phone is for you." - Fran Lebowitz

"I am not young enough to know everything." - Oscar Wilde

"The old believe everything, the middle-aged suspect everything, the young know everything." - Oscar Wilde

Sometimes the "old" forget that they as well used to know everything

  3. I would take Peterson..but WTF do I know... this guy has the potential to be great I don't think we can pass that up. If our O line continues to improve over the four or five years this guy could really tear it up. I think some of the other need that we have can be met in the 2nd round and beyond. I would not let a guy like AP slip by....just my 2 cents (I usually get change back)...

  4. Hey how about all of the good things about this board. Like the well thought-out post that gets us all talking about the team that we love.... The posts that keep us up to date on all of the latest happenings, and gets us through this long horrible thing called the off-season. What about the posts that raise awareness and even money for different causes. I myself enjoy reading the posts from people who obviously have more experience in the world of football than I do; I gain knowledge from this board all the time. While I realize a need to discuss problems, we also should discuss the positives of this board as well. lets see how long we can make a list of positives. Just a thought. :w00t:

Rich I don't know where you get your info.....the trade will be Peerless to the texans for their 1st rounder, which we will then trade to the Steelers for their 4th rounder....come-on due your research! :w00t:

  6. Below is a rumor of Briggs to the Pats for one of their 2 first round picks:

    e. He said the Bears had a seven-year, $33-million contract offer on the table for Lance Briggs last year, but haven't offered him a multi-year deal this offseason. It's either play the year at $7.2 million (poor guy), sit out (he'll never do that) or hope some team comes to the Bears (the Patriots?) and says, "We'll give you a low first-round pick for Briggs,'' and then signs him to a $7 million-a-year deal with $20 million guaranteed.
