  1. Strange response to what I wrote but.....no....we shouldn't(for many reasons) though if the right guy was there in the 3rd I wouldn't object. This has nothing to do with what my hopes are for TE and everything to do with the importance of finding at least a solid starter at the QB position.

Not sure why you think that was such a strange response considering the topic of this thread? What I am saying is if Trent is the starter and they are sure enough in his abilities to not use a early pick for another QB, then are we not solidified in the QB position? (Don't forget we have the great JP Losman as our backup)

  2. You know, I was thinking the Bills should look at Colt Brennan. He's is considered first round talent but is out for the season with injury if I remember. So the idea is we can get in the 6th or 7th. Put him on IR while JP plays out the contract and we see if Trent can play in this league. Then He'll be ready to go next year.

Yah I think he is going to have hip surgery.....he's pretty raw but for a 6th or 7th who knows..

  3. He may well be an anti Trent crusader but that does not diminish what he says.....if what he says has merit.

The QB position is no where near solidified. I(like most) am hopeful that TE will become a great QB but at this point he is just another 2nd year player who has shown promise in his rookie season. Until he becomes a solid NFL performer I can't see how we can count the QB position as solidified.

So should we use a early pick to draft another QB?

  4. Oh please, Edwards does NOT equate to us being solidified at QB. Not by a long shot. The guy has to prove he can actually get the ball into the endzone on a consistent basis before you can go saying that he has solidified the QB position for the Bills. Sorry, but that one made me laugh.

Yah and this post makes me laugh....no different than the rest of your anti Trent crusades.....

  5. Who makes the call as to wether a player is a reach or not at certain draft positions? I mean if you have a guy rated high on your boards that fits your style of team play and you draft him at 11, its not a reach. Just cause other teams have him rated lower on their boards dont mean its a reach.........You draft players by the system that your team runs. So lets say Devin Thomas rates #1 on the Bills boards for the draft and # 5 on Dallas's draft boards, it dont mean its a reach cause Buffalo took him........

The way that I see it, is if the guy fits your system well you take him I dont care if its a top 10 pick and the player is projected to go near the bottom of the first, you pick who fits your team best, not who these draft experts think you should take. The past few years Buffalo has not draft household names, but they got guys who FIT the system.......Thats why the past 2 years have been solid drafts.

I agree 100%.......I fhe fits at #11 you take him at #11, just because others have him rated at #15 or whatever, who cares......

    Go Bills!

  6. probably this one but i keep changing them to get one that is perfect where everyone is satisfied but no one ever is but i will tell you one thing that is my real stick with point is drafting CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie with the 11th pick and then trading back into the first round to get Devin Thomas or Limas Sweed, preferably Thomas!

    GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Stroud for Pro Bowl 2008

Why do you care about what others think, it's YOUR mock draft. You will never make one that everyone likes so changing YOUR mind to make others happy is a complete waste of time......

  7. Make a written note for yourself of all the bad things you feel about JP as a QB. Put it in a safe place where you can find it in a several years. Keep track of his career wherever he goes. At the end of his career, find your note and read it. I think you're in for a surprise.

I will do that, can I borrow some extra paper?

    Go Bills!

  8. Sorry, but I think NFL defenses caught up with Trent. That showed up those last three games. Defenses love the checkdown QB and will let Trent do that all game long because they know he won't put up the six points when he gets to the red zone. They also love the fact that he tips off running plays with the fake audibles. That wasn't very smart. I'd rather have the QB that can score from anywhere on the field which is Losman.

Your schitt is getting old.....do you just copy and paste it each time? You keep saying that JP could do this and JP could do that, when did he do all this magic? It wasn't TE tipping off the D it was the play calling and I think you will see that this season if you can get your head out of JP's ass.

  9. Edwards has better field vision, a faster release, can read defenses better and has a better touch pass. All of that was developed by playing one of the most godawful offensive lines in college football. I also think he's smarter than Losman.

I think he will develop a lot quicker than Losman. I think we'll see good games, great games and horrid games from him this year. It's part of the growing process. In 2009 he'll be on the verge of becoming great. The only real concern I have about him is his durability. He added a lot of muscle in the offseason and hopefully that will help him stay healthy.

That's my opinion. I wouldn't call myself an expert though.
