  1. You are also saying you want to know why people think that but don't care about what he's done in the past so I don't know that you have any high ground for logic or reason in the thread.

All I am saying is to give him a chance before labeling the guy as NOT THE ANSWER. This is a completely different Offense in Buffalo so I could care less about his past

He looks pretty good to me.......I we delay judgement till after this season.....

  2. Let's remember that the offense scored just 17 points and gave away 7 - a net offensive output of 10 points.

I am happy that they one and I'll even acknowledge that Orton just threw some passes that Manuel shied away from even attempting, but if it weren't for a miraculous catch by Watkins, nobody would be talking about Orton as an answer.

The point is he could be the answer YET some are saying he is not. Make no sense to me........

  3. Well the short answer is that Kyle Orton was not drafted #1 and christened "franchise" by an host of angels throwing rose petals at his feet.

While it's premature to crown Kyle our franchise QB, I think there are reasons think he could be.

He's not that old (31), he's been in the league for ten years, mostly as a starter, but because he's been a backup for a few years he's not as beat up as a ten year QB could be. Also Orton has never suffered a major injury.

Also the Bills are probably the most talented team that Orton had played on, and Orton is the most experienced Bills QB since Bledsoe. It could be a match made in heaven.

    Thank you....

  4. Considering he has one month with the team, beat the Lions, made all the throws, made some great adjustments ,is still a little rusty, why do you feel that Kyle Orton is NOT the long term answer in Buffalo? Just curious...

Isn't it necessary for Kyle Orton to look really bad for an extended period BEFORE we write him off ??

Yes,yes, we need to see more but why rule him out now ? I see lots of threads that say he is a short term fix AND we need to draft another quarterback........Why ?

What's in Kyle Ortons game makes him a short term fix only ?

Its very possible that he could be Buffalo's QB for the next 5 or 6 years .

We may be rebuilding this team by then....... :flirt:

  5. Perhaps. He made a calculated move to get out of Dallas and keep his cash, the Bills needs worked out well for him . Timing wise it couldn't have been better. As for on the field, the Bills do have some talented wideouts and a big ( though slow) tight end. The running game is not really dynamic, though. In fact it seems overrated by Bills fans. They hardly ever get big runs on first down and struggle in short yardage. Those are not hallmarks of a dominant O line. The best running teams are effective in those situations, when the D knows what is coming and can't stop it. So I wouldn't be too giddy about the Bills running game. That may change if Orton is able to hit intermediate routes effectively, our run struggles may have had a lot to do with EJ. That will bear itself out over the next several games. Yes Orton is a lucky guy. As the saying goes.. luck is where opportunity meets preparation. Hopefully he is prepared enough to steer this season back on the course it was headed after the first two weeks.

With a much better passing the running game SHOULD greatly improve......

  6. Kyle Orton holds out in Dallas, is waived and pockets 3 million. The Bills beg him to come to Buffalo, he refuses then Doug Whaley raises the offer. He now receives 5 million per season plus he then pockets the 3 mil from Dallas, Total 8 million for the year!!

The Bills waive 3 backup quarterbacks then bench the starter after week #4, just as predicted by many....

Buffalo offense is loaded with some of the best Wide Receivers in the NFL and all he really needs to do is look better then EJ Manuel who was dreadful.....Is this really impossible ? ?

The Bills have a dynamic running attack so Orton can still WIN in bad weather as the DEFENSE holds most teams to minimum points.

It just so happens he signs with a team where the fans have completely forgotten what a real quarterback looks like...so if he passes for over 300 yards....... he receives the key to the city and fan worship......maybe his own TV show. "Sir Kyle Orton and his Merry Men" :worthy:

    Must be nice ..........
