  1. Keith Richards compiled a load of stuff (about 4 cd's worth) a few years back. He even bemoaned the fact that going through the vaults made him a little nostalgic, and melancholy, because he realized they would never be that good again. The intent was to put out a 6 disc box set, sort of like a Rolling Stones Anthology, to answer the Beatles, 2 discs would be a greatest hits, and the other 4, all unreleased stuff. The project was scraped, however, when Jagger stepped in and said he had zero interest in releasing anything that would put another penny into the pockets of Allen Klein, the Stones former manager, who owned the royalties to all of the Stones early stuff on ABCKO (the first album through "Let It Bleed")....of course Keith's take on it was that

Mick was under some sort of delusion that the Stones were still, as musically relevant as ever, and didn't want to compete with himself.

The Keith Richards anthology project was eventually widdled down to a greatest hits package, which is known as "40 Licks"...

Now, Allen Klein has since passed away, so, maybe some of that stuff will finally see the light of day...we can only hope. I have had bootlegs, for years, of lots of unreleased stuff, and there are some major gems...

Send me a pm, let me know what you need in exchange for the unreleased stuff...

  2. Interesting. Bringing in a thirtysomething to work with Nix helps curb the "Sunshine Boys" jokes. Thumbs up for the WPIAL link, as well: http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pittsburgh...s/s_479973.html

And one more very important (to me) note: longtime Pittsburgh PP-G Steelers guy Ed Bouchette has good things to say about him. Bouchette's been covering that team since the Steel Curtain days. Man knows his stuff.

I wonder if this is another referral from Cowher..

  3. Riddle me this, Batman: why would either Schefter or Mortensen CARE whether or not Cowher ultimately takes the job in Buffalo (or anywhere else)?

"Let me explain to you how this works: you see, the corporations finance Team America Schefter, and then Team AmericaSchefter goes out... and the corporations sit there in their... in their corporation buildings, and... and, and see, they're all corporation-y... and they make money."

  4. It ironically was going according to plan for TD as one of his primary goals seemed to be not putting an HC he hired in a position to run him out of town like Cowher did and he seemed to motivated as much by making sure he hired an HC he could beat if it came to that (GW)...

I agree with the majority of everything you've posted in this thread...but, I have always felt this was a BS claim against Donahoe. We all know Ralph would never pay for a big-name coach...so, how is TD's hiring of a non-big-name proof of his fear of being Cowher'ed?
