  1. He played back-up most of the year but was a situational pass rusher as a 4-3 DE. But since the Pats scored so many points and other teams had to pass to catch up or keep up, he was on the field a lot to rush the passer. Late in the season and in the playoffs the Pats switched to more of a base 3-4 and he started I think at OLB in the 3-4, but in the Merriman role of rushing most plays, and was very effective. I read some history on him where it says he's much better in the situational pass rusher role, which is likely how we would use him too.

Anderson would seem to be a better fit in Wanny's system than Dwan Edwards. Guess we'll have to wait to see..

  2. I'm so pissed at Trump for canning Corrolla...he was a big reason why I was excited about this season...Andretti is the only one should should have gone home, but he was too much of a nancy to step up and be the PM from the beginning.

Something else I've noticed is that I have a lot more respect for Penn Jillette than I ever did before. I've always enjoyed his comedy and his magic, along with Teller, but the times when he's gotten very political and allowed his atheist views to be front and center, it was sort of a turn off as to how "Bill Maher" he got. I was thrilled he was on the show, but he's really shown a lot more of a heart and more integrity than I ever thought he possessed. He seems like a genuinely good guy and I've enjoyed seeing him interact with the others so far.

I don't mean this to sound sexist, although it probably will come off that way, but I really hate when shows like this one or Survivor end up with some of the more interesting males getting the axe early on, and being left with unbearably boring females the rest of the way. Thankfully we have a couple of firecrackers on the ladies side, and I love Lampinelli, but to lose Corrolla and be stuck with that one latina chick (not my baby Dayanna, but the other one) and one or two of the others is really lame. That redhead has shown to have some fire, but a few of the other ladies just sit there. The guys tend to have more balls and carry the show, so I hate to see them losing these tasks. If we had Joan Rivers, Melissa Rivers, and Annie Duke on here, that would be different...but we don't. I hope the men get it turned around.

Growing up in Mario's shadow left Michael much more comfortable behind a helmet. That was an astute observation by Corrolla. Trump was only going to fire Andretti but Adam's "code" stood in the way...so, Trump shot him too. Line of the night - Penn: "nice shot Oswald!"

  3. I am an Arizona State guy, and am pretty familiar with Hagan.

He spent the last couple years with the Giants (my TV market) and filled in quite well when they had a bunch of injuries. He also did a solid job on special teams.

I was going to come on here and advocate signing him and dumping Ruvell Martin after the Raiders released Hagan. Now that the injuries have hit, they need both. The Raiders apparently dumped him because Hue Jackson never wanted him but Crazy Dead Al forced Hagan on him. Not the way to make a team.

Going back further, Derek was a stud at ASU. He piled up huge numbers and looked like a surefire 1st rounder...then, he went to the Senior Bowl and dropped everything thrown to him. I was stunned at the time; he always had good hands with ASU. He is big, he fights for the ball, and he runs well after the catch. Miami still liked him enough to use a 2nd on him, but he continued to have too many drops there and they dumped him. Like I said, he did pretty well with the Giants. I was surprised they didn't re-sign him after losing Steve Smith.

I like the guy, but don't expect much unless there are even more injuries. I'd guess he will prevent us from ever seeing Martin on offense, but he'll still be behind Roosevelt and Aiken.

IWas he an outside or slot guy for the giants?

  4. Just a brief re-cap of the interview.

-They talked about alot of the players being "misfits" no one else really wanted or cut, and the use it to motivate themselves.

-talked about Coach's style: giving him the freedom to adjust to get open and also mentioned that no one else really wanted to coach in Buffalo except Gailey.

-Mentioned Fits giving everyone a chance to make plays.

-Gave props to o-line only allowing 1 sack

-They are handling the success by continuing to look forward to each game.

-Kirwan compared the Ralph atmosphere to the Kelly era. Stevie happy for the fans enjoying the wins and the city is proud of them.

-He hasn't seen Ralph Wilson around at all this year.

Nothing earth shattering but thought someone may be interested.

    Thanks for the recap.

  5. Brad Smith is going to be back there as KR with C.J. probably next to him.

Roscoe will be back for PR, with CJ as his back-up. I doubt CJ will actually be on the PR team if he is not the primary return man replacing Roscoe for a breather or due to injury.

Brad Smith, however, will likely be in front of Roscoe on the PR team, as he is very good on ST and was doing that in some preseason play. Smith is an amazingly versatile player, not only an excellent KR man but a very good KO team man as well. He will also probably be on the punt team. Bills fans who don't know a lot about him are going to love him.

It’s probably nothing close to surprising, but it appears that Brad Smith has nailed down the starting kick return job for the 2011 season.

That according to Buffalo’s updated depth chart, which has Smith listed first with C.J. Spiller as the second returner. Smith was second in the league in kick return average last season with 28.6 yards per return.

  6. You've got the shows mixed up a bit. They opened with Wash at a Mansfield show. Crown of Thorns was played at the arena. It was definitely the highlight of that show for me though too... and strangely enough, that was also my 5th PJ show.

Oh, and I think it's kind of funny that the song that won over Pooj is now 20 years old.

Great call, you're exactly right. At the arena, they opened with:

  7. That was easily their most unique show that I've been to. Two nights earlier (same venue), they pretty much went with a "best of" set list, so for this one they went with quite a bit of their more obscure songs. Opening with Wash was the perfect example of that.

I was there too.. It was my 5th PJ show and probably the best I've ever seen. "Crown of Thorns" was the highlight for me.
