  1. There are two things to keep in mind about the Bears search though: A) It's a two interview process. B) They are looking at playoff teams coordinators as well. Tom Clements-GB, Rick Dennison-HOU, Mike McCoy-DEN, Darrell Bevell-SEA, and Bruce Arians who was just released from the hospital. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/football/bears/ct-spt-0113-bears-coach-chicago--20130113,0,5919829.story
  2. you really think San Diego fans would care? I've lived in So. Cal now for almost 5 years and the Chargers are in fear of blackouts quite a bit. how many last year? 3 or 4, wasn't it? the year before they had a few as well. we have billboards on the 15 North advertising free game tix with the purchase of xxx. they've been trying to GIVE those things away as long as I've been here. I'm not sure that many would care or drive to L.A. That's 2+ hours away on a good day.
  3. agreed. you don't want either one. as much as I have loved Urlacher over the years, he never came back from that knee injury last year. my grandmother is faster than he is now. as for Hester, they RUINED him when they tried to make him a WR. that was an epic fail, but paying the guy $41 million, I guess they had to try.
  4. I'll tell you why I'm here...because I happen to like the Buffalo Bills and I would love to see you land a good coach. your team dumps all that money into Mario and he barely does squat this year. I would LOVE to see Lovie work with him and the rest of your defense and take your team to a winning season. plus there is bad info going around here that only a Bears follower can correct. I would welcome you posting at a Bears board with firsthand Bills info.
  5. 3 division titles and 1 superbowl appearance in 9 years. yeah, you should be so lucky.
  6. you do realize Jimmors (the blogger) is just another poster like you and I, right? you should see his political posts....eh. the guy's out there. and since when do people whine about their "weak" schedule when getting to the Superbowl? or when they win 3 NFC North titles? can I whine then that we had to get there with Rex freaking Grossman? or whine that our defense and ST had to bail him out in AZ that same year since he was crapping the bed? in fact, that is the perfect example of how hard they played and they didn't give up no matter what the score read. THAT is on Lovie. THAT is what he teaches. THAT and the record amount of takeaways. A SCORING DEFENSE! Jauron never taught that. Jauron never instilled any pride in players. He never pushed the defense to excellence. Lovie could use a strong OC, but as a HC he's head and shoulders above Jauron. and I'm sorry, but you beat the teams put in front of you regardless of what their records are. you either win them or you lose them. we can't all be "blessed" with playing SF every week.
  7. the fade was the direct result of rotating that oline the 2nd half of the year. everyone was hurt. Lost Lance Louis (our best mediocre olineman), benched Carimi and replaced him with Scott, then made Carimi a guard b/c Spencer went down. put in James Brown from off the street. It was a joke what was happening on that line. Cutler getting cheap shotted into a concussion during the Houston game and then missing the SF game didn't help. No way Campbell (or anyone else for that matter) could play behind that line. Campbell was sacked 5 times by Aldon Smith, for God's sake! bordering on irrelevance for 6 years is a bit extreme too. they won the NFC North in 2010. and were 7-3 before Cutler and Forte went down. no reason to think they couldn't have made the playoffs last year with Cutler and Forte in. If we wouldn't have split with MN, we'd be there this year instead of them. Not really so irrelevant.
  8. right - in 2010 they were in the NFC Championship game, 2011 they were 7-3 before Cutler went down, and finished this year 10-6 with Cutler missing 2 games due to concussion. if we hadn't split with Minny, it would be the Bears in the playoffs right now. the more I think on this Lovie firing, the more I see this as a new GM wanting his own guy. otherwise they'd have just blown up the oline, fired Tice and promoted Bates from within. the Bills would be damn lucky to get Lovie, imo. and as for "a couple olinemen".....I don't even know what that means....the ENTIRE line was a bunch of scrubs. week to week you never knew who was starting.
  9. your defense is perfect for Lovie. I've been sitting on this and another thread b/c of that very reason. It would be awesome to see Lovie in Buffalo. You have to get a strong OC with him though. That is key.
  10. That's exactly why most Chicago fans couldn't care less about Cutler's demeanor. We watched week and week, year after year, the same relentless pounding the guy took. If it was frustrating to the fans, can you imagine how pissed off Cutler was?? When Cutler shoulder bumped Webb during that GB game, we all cheered and were sorry he didn't hit him with a brick instead. Clay Matthews was pounding on Cutler all night. It was insanity.
  11. BS. What buried him in Chicago was that Oline. When you have garbage draft picks, cast offs from other teams, and dudes off the street protecting your QB, you're sunk. I think Webb was the worst LT 2 years running, yet he's still starting. Freaking joke. Tice as OC and previously mentioned rabid meathead fans sure didn't help his situation either.
  12. so you "hear" a lot, but have no actual knowledge from following the Bears? if you actually watched the team you'd know that Lovie is completely intolerant of slackers. just ask Tim Jennings, Devin Aromashodu, Matt Forte, Gabe Carimi, Tommy Harris, Major Wright, Zack Bowman, Devin Hester....Those are only the benchings and I could go on for awhile since he was with us for 9 years. Won't even go into the Tank Johnson and Cedric Benson years. no, Lovie is not a hothead and honestly, I was good with that. I much prefer someone I can respect than a circus freak like Rex Ryan or Jim Schwartz. but hey, if that's what you're looking for, to each his own, I guess.
  13. the Cutler trade was one of the best moves Angelo ever made. with Rodgers and Stafford in the division, we could never even dream of competing with Orton. it was a move that had to be made. what crippled the Bears and eventually cost Lovie his job was Angelo's 10 YEARS of bad drafts. even the drafts before the Cutler trade were mostly garbage. I read a few weeks ago that of the 82 people Angelo drafted, only 22 were still on the team. don't even want to know which are no longer in the NFL.
  14. Spot on. I feel like getting stinking drunk all of a sudden. :-(
  15. As a Bears fan, you'd be lucky to land Lovie. He's nowhere near what Jauron was. I'm totally sorry to see Lovie go and I know a lot of other Bears fans that feel the same. Stop listening to the meatheads. Instead of getting rid of Lovie, they should have fired an inept Mike Tice and cut every offensive lineman on the team.
