  1. I'm totally against this plan and everyone else should be too. Frankly, I'm tired of the "we'll fix it later" idea because it's nothing more than a panacea. Social Security isn't fixed and it's totally !@#$ed. Medicare isn't fixed and it's totally !@#$ed. DoD gets more and more expensive and suffers from the same worsening ailments that has always plagued it. This will be no different. <_<

    You forgot another insurance that government runs that was supposed topay for itself (claims paid by premiums) Flood Insurance. Granted not everyone has it or needs it but it is billions in the hole.

  2. First time post here. Then he went through the hole training camp last year to have his coordinator dumped right before the season and had a new OC. If he had any consistant coaching he would be a stud now. For that matter I think Losman would have panned out to if it wasn't for sorry coaching. With Loseman they tried to make him a pocket quarterback. To me he should have used his legs more.

    Sounds similar to whan Losman was first going down before Edwards was drafted. We haven't had consistent coaching in over ten years.

  3. Lone nut goes on rampage?

    or

    The rallying cry for the bagger movement?

    http://blogs.villagevoice.com/runninscared...stacks_rush.php

    I think the guy was a nut case and not indicative of the average citizen. Yes, I have complaints about the IRS but I don't go and blow them up and no I don't commit suicide to prove my point. To me he is a guy who went "postal" but used a plane. He is a terrorist of a sort, not just a protester. A protester may have signs, sit ins, fasts, refuse to pay etc.; a terrorist aims to kill. He set his own home on fire (thank God, his wife and child were not there and hurt). Don't male this man into a martyr.

  4. As much as I don't like the government's support of the auto industry...Japanese automakers have absolutely no call to be bitching about unfair government support of US auto makers.

    I agree. Especially since Toyotas are coming out as the most unsafe vehicle to drive. Gas peddle problems, streering problems, brake problems.

    Japan also has to remember Ford took no stimulus money. And they have been holding their own.

  5. Want Ryan back in Buffalo. Want him here to play for the Sabres. I don't care about the gold in the Olympics anymore because they are all pros. Years ago the Olympics was all about amateurs. The team that won in 1980 was 100% amateur.

  6. Ernie Warlick lived five houses away from me in Amherst. My mom still stays in touch with his wife Louise. His son Chris was brilliant, and became a doctor at Washington University Hospital in St. Louis. I'm not sure if he's still there.

    My mother worked at a bank in Amherst where he banked. He stood in line just like everyone else not asking special treatment.

  7. Just one question. When is this argument going to end? Losman was off the team for 2009 and Edwards was a major disappointment. Injury prone and scared in the pocket. Other quarterbacks have been hit, had concussions and came back and still played well. Edwards stunk up the field.

  8. The Ralph bashing is so silly. How much did Ralph get killed when he came out and said the CBA was terrible? Now, he looks like a prophet. There's a difference between wanting to win and knowing how to win. Ralph wants to win, he just doesn't know how. He's always spent on players and probably thought he had his Brees in Bledsoe. Unfortunately for us, it didn't work out that way.

    Buffalo would not have a team if not for Ralph Wilson in 1959. Does he always spend money wisely on players? No. Does he always hire the best management or coaches? No. Has he always stood up for small market teams? Yes. Has he kept the team in Buffalo even through the worst economic times Buffalo has experienced not just this current time? Yes. Yes, he has made a profit over the years from the fans filling the stadium and even for the deal to play a couple games in Toronto. He's a businessman. But he didn't slink out of town like Ersay, or move to from one city and then back like Davis.

  9. The question was asked before you asked it and it was answered...see directly below.

    The point is that perception is reality. It is totally irrelevant what our opinions and/or rationalizations are. The poll is what it is. Buffalo is one of the least desirable places for an NFL player to play.

    Again, all the positives you mention are virtually meaningless. This sample size of 300 players is probably pretty accurate as there are about 1800 NFL players at any one time. NFL players don't want to play in Buffalo. Period.

    One other factor that hasn't been mentioned is the New York State Income Tax, which many of us know is helping to kill the state. People who make as much money as NFL football players are taxed at nearly 7% of their income, on top of what they pay in federal taxes. The median player salary is about $900,000 per year which means that a person making this much pays New York State taxes of approximately $62,000/year.

    This is not a huge number but it is another contributing factor in the grand scheme, especially considering states with no income tax such as Florida (Miami, Jacksonville, Tampa Bay), Texas (Dallas, Houston), and Washington (Seattle).

    We don't have to like the poll or agree with it. But it is what it is. Or to put it in current sports lingo, "you are what your record says you are."

    No, these are still lthe least teams. Who are the best teams to play for?

  10. Recognized on the All Time Bills Team. None are All Time AFL or NFL. James and Butler might have been had injuries not shortened their careeers.

    Robert James was killer until he got hurt. Tony Greene was great at his position and he was a very decent person besides. I met him and he was a gracious player, talking with people and signing autographs with no complaints.

  11. I'm not denying that Thurman was a great player. But remember: there's the ol' eyeball test. He simply -- and very clearly -- wasn't as good as Smith or Sanders. I don't think anyone outside of Bills' fans would argue that he was better than either of those guys. Still, he was a great player.

    I thought this question was about the best Bills player not the best NFL player. What does Emmit and Barry have to do with Buffalo?

  12. OJ Simpson - everyone else a distant 2nd.

    regarding Thurman thomas I can argue he's only the 4th best RB we ever had behind Cookie & OJ & Joe Cribbs

    Cribbs was 4 yrs and 4 probowls....returned punts and led the Bills in both receiving and rushing in 1983.

    Thurman had good fortune to come along as the RB in the no huddle....while Thurman was taken out of the game on 3rd downs his rookie year....joe Cribbs was running & receiving and returning punts to a start in the pro bowl his rookie year starting alongside earl campbell...

    In general I think the players from the Knox era are a bit overlooked when it comes to all time selections

    May have only been the 4th best running back but he was the best from scrimmage (running and pass receiving) for four

    years! All purpose yards. I vote for TT.

  13. Guys, if RK and I agree, there is a serious issue with our government.

    Seriously, I am saddened by what is going on with Obama. I didn't vote for him but had hopes he would live up to his rhetoric. Similarly, I hated Bush as the choice of in 2000, but was glad he was president when 9/11 happened (props to Ocin I think). Both ruined the hopes I had for them. Lets hope Obama doesn't screw up too much more.

    I was not a Bush fan but he got elected. And he did respond when we got attacked on 9/11. Unfortunatelly I feel he didn't go far enough same as his father in the first Desert Storm. Get rid of Pelosi (Boxtox Queen). Yes, health care needs reform but do it responsibly don't just push it through just to get it done. Give the people of America actual tax breaks not ones that they have to pay back when they do their taxes (the break on withholding). I got a $13 a pay period (2 weeks) and found out I have to pay it back now.

  14. This guy, Danny Bible, is currently on death row in Texas.

    I can't find a link to show you this you'll have to trust me on the story from American Justice. When they were transporting him to prison to serve his death row sentence they got into and accident, and he was taken to the hospital where he became clinically dead. However, the doctors were able to bring him back.

    My question is WHY?

    ______________________________________

    I find the topic of women on death row interesting. By far men are the more violent sex and I wonder what drives women to kill?

    Here's a list of women on Texas Death Row; (last updated January 13. 2010)

    Lucio, Melissa Elizabeth

    Here's what she allegedly did.

    BROWNSVILLE, Texas—A South Texas mother convicted of torturing and beating to death her 2 1/2-year-old daughter has been sentenced to die.

    Melissa Elizabeth Lucio, 39, of Harlingen will become the 10th woman on death row in Texas. She was sentenced by a jury Thursday and is believed to be the first female given the death penalty in Cameron County.

    Witnesses in the two-week trial testified that Maria Alvarez was beaten and tortured for months before dying from brain damage in a final violent assault last year.

    Coleman, Lisa

    Here's what she allegedly did.

    Jurors in the trial of Lisa Ann Coleman, 34, in 2006 in Tarrant County, heard testimony that Coleman beat, bound, neglected and starved Davontae Williams.

    Coleman shared an apartment with the boy's mother, Marcella Williams, who subsequently pleaded guilty to avoid a death sentence and is now serving a life prison term.

    An autopsy found that the child had more than 250 scars on his body when emergency medical crews in responded to a 911 call about a child with breathing difficulties in July 2004.

    Richardson, Chelsea Lea

    Here's what she allegedly did;

    FORT WORTH -- A 21-year-old Fort Worth-area woman was sentenced to death for helping kill her boyfriend's parents so he could inherit their fortune. Rick and Suzanna Wamsley were found dead in their Mansfield home in December, 2003.

    A Tarrant County jury convicted Chelsea Lea Richardson of capital murder Tuesday in the shooting and stabbing deaths. The jury deliberated for just over two hours before returning the death sentence Wednesday.

    McCarthy, Kimberly Lagayle

    Here's what she allegedly did;

    DALLAS (AP) - Three elderly women died brutal deaths in Dallas County in the past decade, and the woman accused of killing all three goes on trial this week.

    The first was stabbed and her body was dumped in a garage. A second was beaten to death with a hammer. A third was stabbed, her ring finger was cut off and her Mercedes was stolen.

    Holberg, Brittany Marlowe

    Here's what she allegedly did;

    Holberg robbed and murdered an 80-year-old man in his home. The victim was struck with a hammer and stabbed nearly 60 times. The weapons used were a paring knife, butcher knife, grapefruit knife and a fork. A lamp pole had been shoved more than five inches down the victim's throat.

    Routier, Darlie

    She is probably the most polarizing death penalty female inmate. There are people on either side convinced of her guilt or innocence. Ive seen a lot of crime shows about her and I'm 99% sure she killed her sons.

    Here's what she allegedly did;

    Darlie Routier is on death row in Texas, convicted of the murder of one of her two sons, who were killed in the early morning of June 6, 1996. The media coverage of the investigation into the murders of Devon and Damon Routier depicted the crime as another heartless mother whose children were getting in the way of her lifestyle, so she killed them.

    That is also how the news media, books such as Precious Angels by Barbara Davis, and the prosecutors at her trial portrayed Darlie Routier. Most found it believable in the aftermath of the Susan Smith case two years earlier.

    Since her conviction, Darlie and her family have learned a lot more about the legal system. They have presented a far different picture than was originally shown by the press. Even Barbara Davis changed her mind about the case and added a chapter to her book disputing the prosecutor's case.

    Read both sides and decide for yourself if this young woman is the she-devil portrayed by the prosecutors and press, or a woman naive of the inner workings of the legal system.

    Henderson, Cathy

    Here's what she allegedly did.

    Convicted in the abduction and murder of 3-month-old Brandon Baugh. Henderson had been babysitting the young boy and his 2 1/2-year-old-sister Megan, for three months prior to the murder without incident.

    Henderson later told police that Brandon died after she dropped him accidentally on his head. She said she panicked, buried the boy, and fled to her native Missouri, where she was later arrested.

    Using a map drawn by Henderson, authorities found Brandon's body in a cardboard box in a shallow grave outside of Temple on Feb. 8, 1994. An autopsy determined Brandon died of a fractured skull.

    Sheppard, Erica

    Here's what she allegedly did;

    Convicted in the robbery and murder of Marilyn Sage Meagher in Houston. Sheppard and co-defendant James Dickerson spotted Meagher carrying clothing from her car into her apartment at 4655 Wild Indigo and decided to rob her of her car. The pair tackled Meagher inside the apartment, and while she begged for her life, slashed her throat with knives five times. They then wrapped her head in a plastic bag and struck her in the head with a 10-pound statue. Sheppard and Dickerson fled in Meagher's 1993 Mazda 626 which was later recovered in Bay City, Texas.

    I have no problem with people who commit heinous acts should be killed. However, I'd have to be a real idiot to believe mistakes are never made. For that reason and the fact that it's cheaper to house them than kill them I am against the death penalty.

    The Cathy Henderson case bugs me a little. If what she says is true I don't think it qualifies for capital punishment. JMO

    Most people on death row are in the prison where the sentence wiill be executed normally in the same wing. They don't drive them to the site of execution, they walk them. If you can provide a link that would be interesting because that is the first I have heard of driving to the site.

  15. Well, other than spending for the Pentagon, DHS, Medicare, Social Security, new healthcare legislation, federal gov't employee raises/pensions/benefits, ongoing billion-dollar giveaways to Detroit and anywhere else with a lot of union votes, pet projects for any Dem Senators, etc.

    Does he really think that anyone other than his loyal nitwits are going to be fooled by the headlines?

    Even pro-Obama writers can't make it sound convincing.

    All I know is the "tax cut" I got earlier in the year when withholding was reduced, I now have to pay it back when I file my taxes. I didn't get anything. Thankfully, my husband and I were aware enough to have an extra $5.00 withheld from our pay every pay period so we don't have to write a check to the government.

  16. He has three daughters:

    - Linda was the first female NFL scout. She had cancer and died last year.

    - Christine does merchandise consulting for the Bills.

    - Edith has no involvement with the Bills.

    They have their own lives/careers and aren't interested in becoming NFL owners.

    Linda would probably been the logical choice of the daughters to take over if she had not gotten sick.

  17. why am i hearing about all these pathetic candidates like billick (his defense won the super bowl in spite of his idiocy. what an offensive mastermind. have you ever listened to this guy on NFL N? a bloody !@#$ing moron), b. schottenheimer (getting by on name alone), ron rivera (not only did san diego and chicago pass him over for HC positions, he was actually fired once instead of promoted to the HC position) and morons like jim haslett (do you remember how horrible he was in new orleans? probably one of the worst HC's in the history of the NFL).

    where are the up and coming star HC's on the interview list? nowhere to be found. there's lots of talent in the collegiate coaching ranks, you would think nix would reach out to them first considering he was a college HC himself and is supposedly a master at scouting college talent/programs. but NO. we have a list of retread retards.

    the future is going to be painful

    Good college coaches do not always mean a good NFL coach. For example, Steve Spurrier, Nick Saban, Bobby Petrino, to name some. Lou Holtz even failed with the Jets in the 70s.

  18. Right after Obama became president he gave a tax cut to the little guy, the worker. I got thirteen dollars every two weeks in my pay checks. Come to find out I have to pay that back when I file my taxes (more than half). So what did I get? I haven't had even a cost of livilng raise in three years (but I still have a job) And Obama's "stimulus" for workers is going to net me less than $100 for the year. That did not help as I am losing my home through foreclosure. I was not eligible for any of the plans to save your house.
