1. Over 300 Arab student protesters surrounded the table of the local College Republican Club at San Francisco State University, prompting 13 campus police officers to protect the political organization's property and volunteers.

According to columnist Lee Kaplan writing in FrontPage Magazine, the protesters – "Palestinian, Arab, Muslim and radical leftist students" – surrounded the outdoor table the morning after President Bush's re-election victory, when the Republican activists had hoped to recruit more members.

"The police officers were forced to surround the CR's table both in front and in back in order to protect the conservative students' safety," Kaplan wrote.

The protesters were members of the General Union of Palestinian Students.

Two days earlier, Arab students confronted members of the Republican club who were distributing Bush-Cheney flyers on campus, with one woman reportedly slapping one of the conservative students. The columnist says the Republicans were accused of the "murder of Palestinian babies" due to their support for Bush.

    Wrote Kaplan:

"Lee Wolf, another College Republicans member, described one of the women on Monday as shouting, 'The only way we can defeat you is to kill as many as possible! I'd rather die a suicide bomber's death than to call myself an American!' He continued, 'In my opinion, these were terrorist threats.'"

According to the report, the Arab protesters have called for the Republican club to be banned from campus. Flyers were even distributed at the university that said: "Don't Let the College Republicans Commit Racism and Bigotry Against Arab Women."

Chris Finarelli, vice president of the club described the protesters at Wednesday's disturbance.

"They were all around us wearing black and white kafiyahs like Arafat wears," he said.

"We don't even deal with the Israel/Palestinian dispute that much in our discussions and materials," CR member Derek Wray told Kaplan. "We don't even have any Jewish members as far as I know, although we do promote a conservative political agenda.

"We're going to the police again to ask for protection. They say they're going to have another demonstration and drive us off campus."

Freedom of speech baby....let it go..your stooge won.

  2. Could one of you libs please provide just one link to an article in which Bush is cited opposing gay marriage on the basis of scripture?  Heck, I'll even take a link where Bush uses the words bible and gay marriage in the same paragraph.  Thanks.

    112245

"Yes, I am mindful that we're all sinnersin the eyes of God and the bible," the president said Wednesday when asked for his views on homosexuality. "And I caution those who may try to take the speck out of the neighbor's eye when they've got a log in their own."

  3. 2. I can't argue because it is all personal opinion.

    3. That is the worst argument I have ever heard.  You could say the same thing about anything, even crimes.  "Well your honor, my client simply didn't think before he killed him, so it's not really his responsibilty".  By the way, there are plenty of people who think before having sex and decide it would be better to wait.

    4. that is not necessary because woman can keep themselves from becoming pregnant by not having sex.

    112241

    3. i was being sarcastic

    4. you know what...its not your choice if she has sex....bible thumpers don't get that...you can tell us your interpretation of the bible...many of us don't want to hear scripture quoted

  4. 2. Who is she to kill a child?

    3. She should have thought about that before she had sex. Nobody forced her to do anything.  Forcing her to have a child would be forcing her to get pregnant.

    4. No one is forcing them to get underground abortions. If they decide to do that and they are harmed, that is their choice.  Like Arndale said, if they want to choose to break the law, they have to accept the responsibilites.  I guess we should feel bad for the people who get killed during drug deals.  If we made drug deals legal, they could all be made in a civilized manner. Right?

Face it, for the most part, abortions are simply an easy way out for people who want to be careless and not wait to have sex until they are ready to have a baby.  If they want to have sex before, it is their problem to raise the kid when they get pregnant.  If a mother of 4 is having trouble raising her kids, is it ok to kill one of them because she can't handle them all?

    112147

    2. how is a group of cells dependent on another living organism considered a child..to me a child is a person between infancy and youth

    3. who in the history of human race ever thought before sex

    4. everything you say is true...but thank god in this country it is still a choice. or would you prefer female genitalia sterilization as done around the world

  5. It's not really a question of judging homosexuals.  It's not like Bush wants to have them all excecuted.  He simply wants to keep marriage a sacred bond between man and woman.  Gay people can go on being gay if they'd like, Bush isn't arguing that.  It would be different if bush made homosexuality an offense punishable by death, but he isn't doing that. What he is doing is only concerned with the institution of marriage.

    112206

    From Webster's

1 a (1) : the state of being united to a person of the opposite sex as husband or wife in a consensual and contractual relationship recognized by law (2) : the state of being united to a person of the same sex in a relationship like that of a traditional marriage <same-sex marriage

Now please share with me what your parents told you that a good should marriage be .. ..the values of a good marriage...well I'd say love, commitment, trust, a bond...well why can't a woman/woman or man/man have those same values in what tthey feel a union of two people should be. But we all know from PPP that homosexuals cannot have a faith in God. So lets amended our nation's constitution (GW's amendment regarding marriage) based on what the bible says....yes, our forefathers built this nation on religion. But now you'll argue that all men are NOT created equal, that all men are NOT entitled to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. I find in general that born again Christians are the quickest to label and show little tolerance for fellow Americans.....Gays, Jews, Blacks....

  6. Have fun with this one, folks!

One more not so subtle reminder NOT to take the Bible literally...

    Dear President Bush:

Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God's Law. I have learned a great deal from you and understand why you would propose and support a constitutional amendment banning same sex marriage. As you said "in the eyes of God marriage is based between a man a woman." I try to share that knowledge with as many people as I can. When someone tries to defend the homosexual lifestyle, for example, I simply remind them that Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination... End of debate.

I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some other elements of God's Laws and how to follow them.

    1. Leviticus 25:44 states that I may possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify?  Why can't I own Canadians?

    2. I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?

    3. I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanness - Lev.15: 19-24. The problem is how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.

    4. When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord - Lev.1:9. The problem is, my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them? (NB - I would vote YES here - I love the smell of charred animal flesh in the morning!  Smells like... STEAK!)

    5. I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2. clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself, or should I ask the police to do it?

    6. A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an abomination - Lev. 11:10, it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this? Are there 'degrees' of abomination? (NB - what about homosexuals EATING shellfish - or heaven forbid - a sea cucumber!)

    7. Lev.21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle-room here?

    8. Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev. 19:27.  How should they die?

    9. I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?

    10. My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev.19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? Lev.24:10-16. Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair, like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)

I know you have studied these things extensively and thus enjoy considerable expertise in such matters, so I am confident you can help.

Thank you again for reminding us that God's word is eternal and unchanging.

    112088

That is by far the best post on TBD since the NJSue thread///although i like Sue....my god i'm still chuckling....come on all you conservative...bible school is in session...tear him apart...like you do every person that does not INTERPRET the bible your way

  7. Don't you understand?  If you utter anything other than enthusiastic approval of every tactic of this war or offer anything besides the rosiest of predictions you are an anti-American cowardly terrorist sympathizing blue stater.  You see, it goes like this, if your party wins a Presidential election by 3%, you are no longer required to make sense or to be needlessly bound by the tyranny of facts.  Common decency and simple politeness are for election losers to worry about.

Seriously, what did you do in the first Gulf War?

    111859

    ASW in Gulf

  8. Me, and my convervative friends biggest fears are coming true: People even crazier then Ashcroft are being appointed to top level positions.

Lets look at Gonzalez's list of accomplisments (according to the "fair and balanced" republican, I mean fox news):

    - Gonzales has been at the forefront of developing White House policy about detaining terror suspects for extended periods without access to lawyers or courts.

    - He wrote the February 2002 memo that allowed Bush to claim the right to waive international treaties when it comes to prisoners of war who do not represent other countries.

    - Some administration officials say that the choice of Gonzales is a "concern" to them because the Justice Department should have some independence from the White House, and Gonzales is "weak" and "controlled" by the White House.

    - Gonzales also has served as a partner in a Houston law firm that represented the scandal-ridden energy giant Enron Corp.

But wait, Fox News doesn't mention one good thing about this guy!

Now lets review why this is a bad choice for Attorney General.

We claim we are the leaders of the free world, the rest of the world views us as the leaders of the free world. We claim to treat everyone with respect and believe that all humans were created equal, and the rest of the world views us as stating that as well. Then we appoint a guy to be the attorney general who wants to detainee prisoners without rights. Its very clear here: We are sending mixed signals, and unfortunately actions speak louder then words. Want to know why people hate us? Its because of this type of hypocritical stevestojan.

Oh yeah, I mentioned the lawyer thing because I think its funny that Bush was bitching about John Edwards being a trial lawyer then appoints this clown who was at one point part of the firm that represented Enron. Not real relevent but funny nonetheless.

    excellent post Bluefire

  9. It would suck to be the people executed via captial punishment, but hey, what are you going to do?

You also would need to get rid of "Thou shall not steal." By scrapping just these two, you will clear up a lot of jail space.

I guess we would have to look at the 9th Commandment as well "Thou shall not bear false witness against thy neighbor." We can get rid of those pesky perjury laws.

    111619

Lets put capital punishment on primetime TV....not lethal injections or electric schair....but boiling oil...crucifixtions....they could have a pre-execution show

  10. Time to scrap all those laws about murder. 'Thou Shalt Not Kill' is kinda religious and has no place in legislative, judicial, or executive branches...

    :)

    111601

Are government should always work to benefit all Americans.......when we start talking about faith based initiatives..well i think that might exclude some americans. I think you are turning what I'm saying around

  11. May God rest his soul.

As much as I regret the death of a hero (which I consider him, sight unseen), I am about people, including property owners, having the right to make choices.

Sorry if this flies of the face of the religion of new liberalism.

    111569

I just think more of our fighting men than to refer to them to a fictional smoking cowboy...I too believe in free choice , but damn , it better benefit me...hahahha

  12. What are you doing in Va. Beach? You should move to NYC, and help our behavioral controlling leftists create laws against headlines of this sort!

    111556

Sorry just had a close Navy buddy die of lung cancer from smoking...picture kinda hit a nerve. Not all of our soldiers. airman and sailors are smokers....but it does make you look so tough....

  13. That is true...Where in our constitution is the right for everyone to have health care...Or the part about the government providing retirement for the elderly or Welfare?

IMO our founding fathers didn't want religion removed from society like many libs are trying to do.

    111456

We don't want it removed from society at all.....just how it MAY impact decesions made in DC. I love my church...love being involved...member of Ancient Order of Hibernians...Irish Catholic based organization....we need religion in our society..just not in legislative, judicial or executive branches

  14. So, they can be Christian, as long as they are not conservatives. Again:  :)

    111486

I have no problem with Christian in our government..but if they begin to do their job based on their beliefs in the bible vice the constitution..I worry. I agree there are still some very conservative Catholics...my experience where i grew up..I was raised around very liberal thinking catholics...

  15. Gonzales was born in San Antonio, Texas and raised in Houston. He is a graduate of Texas public schools, Rice University, and Harvard Law School. Gonzales served in the United States Air Force between 1973 and 1975, and attended the United States Air Force Academy between 1975 and 1977. He is married to Rebecca and is the father of three sons.

    111454

He is CATHOLIC..praise the LORD...there is hope for the administration

  16. Moron. I served in the US Army.

    111234

And I'm a coward why???? My service in first Gulf War was not good enough...I was simply saying that it is terrible about Allawi's family members. The terrorist will just filter in from Syria, Iran, Pakistan. Yes we will rid Fallujah of terrorist...but we take one step forward, two steps back. Unless of course we open up fronts in Iran, Pakistan and Syria to kill terrorists
