  1. So close, no matter how far
Couldn't be much more from the heart
    Forever trusting who we are
    And nothing else matters

    Never opened myself this way
Life is ours, we live it our way
All these words, I don't just say
    And nothing else matters

  2. Tuesday afternoon is never ending
    Wednesday morning papers didn't come
Thursday night your stockings needed mending
    See how they run

Lady Madonna, children at your feet
Wonder how you manage to make ends meet

Started watching Schmigadoon on Apple TV, it's a cross between a musical and a comedy....

I watched the first episode last night. Pretty entertaining, but may be a tough premise to keep interesting all series (and I enjoy a good musical). Episode 1 was good.

McCartney 321 is absolutely must watch on Hulu.  Rick Rubin points out things in Beatles songs that surprises Sir Paul.  And to see Macca still get so excited about the music.  Such a wonderful 6 episode docuseries

Also watched the first episode of this last night. Really well-done and will definitely watch more. That said, I really wish Rick Rubin would put on some f'ing shoes.

  4. It is the engine that drives itself
But it chooses the uphill climb
    A bearing on magnetic north
Growing farther away all the time

    Can't stop moving
    Can't stop moving
    Can't stop

    You may be right
It's all a waste of time
I guess that's just a chance I'm prepared to take
A danger I'm prepared to face
    Cut to the chase

  5. Just another hunter, like a wolf in the sun
Just another junkie on a scoring run
Just another victim of the things he has done
Just another day in the life of a loaded gun

    The odds get even
    You name the game
    The odds get even
    The stakes are the same
    You bet your life

  6. I know there's something in the wake of your smile
I get a notion from the look in your eyes, yeah
You've built a love but that love falls apart
Your little piece of Heaven turns too dark

Listen to your heart when he's calling for you
Listen to your heart, there's nothing else you can do
    I don't know where you're going and I don't know why
But listen to your heart before you tell him goodbye

  7. Bees/wasps...why the F do we have bees and wasps? And don't give me any of that pollination nonsense...we can get plenty of that from butterflys and moths. One time had a wasp in the family room. I made my wife go in and take care of it while stayed in the kitchen to protect the kids.

Also, feet. Not scared of them, but 99.99% of people's feet are f'ing gross (mine included)

  8. I'm a few years late (which just gives me more seasons to binge), but just got into and am really loving Bosch on Amazon Prime. Smart, gritty, decently paced. I had read a couple of Harry Bosch books way back in the day, but for some reason never watched the series until now.

For fans of very slow burn foreign language fare, Katla on Netflix is worth checking out. Icelandic with subtitles (or I suppose you could watched in dubbed English if that's your thing) set in a remote mostly abandoned town impacted by a year-long (and counting) volcanic eruption. A bit sci-fi, a bit supernatural, very moody/creepy.

  9. He's the wolf screaming lonely in the night
He's the bloodstain on the stage
He's the tear in your eye
    Been tempted by his lie
He's the knife in your back, he's rage
He's the razor to the knife
    Oh, lonely is our lives
My head's spinning 'round and 'round
But in the seasons of wither
    We'll stand and deliver
    Be strong and laugh and

    Shout, shout, shout

    Shout at the devil

  10. Seems so long I've been waiting, still don't know what for
There's no point in escaping, I don't worry anymore
I can't come out to find you, I don't like to go outside
They can turn off my feelings like they're turning off the light

  11. I turn my back to the wind
    To catch my breath
    Before I start off again
    Driven on
    Without a moment to spend
    To pass an evening
With a drink and a friend

I let my skin get too thin
    I'd like to pause,
    No matter what I pretend
    Like some pilgrim
    Who learns to transcend
    Learns to live
As if each step was the end

  12. When I was a young boy
My father took me into the city
    To see a marching band

He said, "Son when you grow up
Would you be the savior of the broken
    The beaten and the damned?"
He said "Will you defeat them
Your demons, and all the non-believers
The plans that they have made?"
"Because one day I'll leave you
A phantom to lead you in the summer
    To join The Black Parade"

  13. My uncle has a country place
    No one knows about
He says it used to be a farm
    Before the "Motor Law"
And on Sundays I elude the eyes
    And hop the turbine freight
    To far outside the wire
    Where my white-haired uncle waits

  14. If I could turn the page
In time then I'd rearrange just a day or two
Close my, close my, close my eyes
    But I couldn't find a way
So I'll settle for one day to believe in you
Tell me, tell me, tell me lies

  15. All of us get lost in the darkness
Dreamers learn to steer by the stars
All of us do time in the gutter
Dreamers turn to look at the cars
Turn around and turn around and turn around
Turn around and walk the razor's edge
    Don't turn your back
And slam the door on me

  16. I'm gonna tell you how it's gonna be
    'Bop-bop-bop-bop
You're gonna give your love to me
    Bop-bop-bop-bop
I want to love you night and day
    'Bop-bop-bop-bop
You know my loving not fade away
    Bop-bop-bop-bop
Well you know my loving not fade away

  17. Hey little girl, is your daddy home?
Did he go away and leave you all alone? Mhmm
    I got a bad desire
Oh oh oh, I'm on fire

Tell me now, baby, is he good to you?
And can he do to you the things that I do? Oh no
    I can take you higher
Oh oh oh, I'm on fire
