  1. In restless dreams, I walked alone
    Narrow streets of cobblestone
'Neath the halo of a street lamp
I turned my collar to the cold and damp
When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light
    That split the night
And touched the sound of silence

  2. I saw her today at the reception
A glass of wine in her hand
I knew she would meet her connection
At her feet was her footloose man

No, you can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
But if you try sometime you'll find
    You get what you need

  3. I've been to Reno, Chicago, Fargo, Minnesota
    Buffalo, Toronto, Winslow, Sarasota
    Wichita, Tulsa, Ottawa, Oklahoma
    Tampa, Panama, Mattawa, La Paloma
    Bangor, Baltimore, Salvador, Amarillo
Tocapillo, Baranquilla, and Perdilla, I'm a killer

  4. I turn my face to the sun
    Close my eyes
    Let my defenses down
    All those wounds
    That I can't get unwound

I let my past go too fast
    No time to pause
If I could slow it all down
    Like some captain
    Whose ship runs aground
I can wait until the tide comes around

  5. Recently finished "Persuader" (a Jack Reacher novel), which I believe is the book that Season 3 of the show will be based on. Currently reading "Burn Book" by Kara Swisher, a long time tech reporter since the early days of the internet. The book basically dishes on all of the one-time wonderboys of the tech world who are now by and large a bunch of d-cks.

After that, I have the "3 World Problem" trilogy on deck...not sure yet if I'll read them all back-to-back or take a break with something a bit less dense in between.

  6. So take a look at me now, oh there's just an empty space
And there's nothin' left here to remind me
Just the memory of your face
Ooh, take a look at me now, well there's just an empty space
And you coming back to me is against the odds
And that's what I've got to face

  7. Here I am again in this mean old town
And you're so far away from me
And where are you when the sun go down?
You're so far away from me

You're so far away from me
So far I just can't see
You're so far away from me
You're so far away from me, alright

  8. Saw my picture in the paper
Read the news around my face
    And now some people
Don't want to treat me the same

    When the walls
    Come tumblin' down
    When the walls
    Come crumblin', crumblin'
    When the walls
    Come tumblin', tumblin'
    Down
    Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
    Yeah, yeah, yeah

  9. I am made from the dust of the stars
And the oceans flow in my veins
Here I hide in the heart of the city
Like a stranger coming out of the rain

The evening plane rises up from the runway
    Over constellations of light
I look down into a million houses
And wonder what you're doing tonight

  10. Don't let the sun go down on me (Don't let the sun)
Although I search myself, it's always someone else I see
I'd just allow a fragment of your life (Don't let the sun) to wander free
But losin' everything is like the sun goin' down on me

  11. What happened here as the New York sunset disappeared?
I found an empty garden among the flagstones there
Who lived here? He must have been a gardener that cared a lot
Who weeded out the tears and grew a good crop
    Now it all looks strange
It's funny how one insect can damage so much grain

  12. When logic and proportion
    Have fallen sloppy dead
And the White Knight is talking backwards
And the Red Queen's off with her head
    Remember what the Dormouse said
    Feed your head
    Feed your head

  13. Panacea, passion pure
I can't resist your gentle lure
My heart will lie beside you
    And my wandering body grieves

    Another endless day
    Silhouettes of grey
    Another glass of wine
    Drink with eyes that shine
To days without that chill at morning
Long nights, time out of mind

  14. Like a pair of vagabonds who wave between two passing trains
Or the glimpse of a woman's smile through a window in the rain
I can smell her perfume, I can taste her lips
I can feel the voltage from her fingertips

    Net boy, net girl
Send your heartbeat 'round the world
Let your fingers walk and talk
    And set you free

  15. Johnny told his mama, hey, 'Mama, I'm goin' away. I'm gonna hit the big
time, gonna be a big star someday', Yeah.
Mama came to the door with a teardrop in her eye.
Johnny said, 'Don't cry, mama, smile and wave good-bye'.

  16. It's magic you know
    Never believe it's not so
    It's magic you know
    Never believe it's not so

    Never been awake
    Never seen a day break
Leaning on my pillow in the morning
Lazy day in bed music in my head
Crazy music playing in the morning light

  17. I don't know
    I don't know which side I'm on
I don't know my right from left
    Or my right from wrong
    Say I'm a fool
    Say I'm nothing
But if I'm a fool for you
    Oh, that's something

    Two hearts beat as one
    Two hearts beat as one
    Two hearts

  18. Rock a bye baby, on the tree top,
When the wind blows the cradle will rock.
When the bough breaks the cradle will fall,
And down will come baby, cradle and all.

  19. Daddy was a cop on the east side of Chicago
Back in the USA, back in the bad old days

In the heat of a summer night
In the land of the dollar bill
When the town of Chicago died
And they talk about it still

  20. Give a little bit
Oh, give a little bit of your love to me
    I'll give a little bit
I'll give a little bit of my love to you
There's so much that we need to share
So send a smile and show you care
    (Alright)

    I'll give a little bit
I'll give a little bit of my life for you
    So give a little bit
Oh, give a little bit of your time to me
See the man with the lonely eyes
Oh, take his hand, you'll be surprised

  21. Well, I built me a raft and she's ready for floatin'
Ol' Mississippi, she's callin' my name
Catfish are jumpin', that paddle wheel thumpin'
Black water keeps rollin' on past just the same

Old black water, keep on rollin'
Mississippi moon, won't you keep on shinin' on me?
