I'm a pretty big reader, tend to jump around across genres and physical vs Kindle books.
Last physical books finished were Geddy Lee's "My Effin Life" (highest possible recommendation!) and Stephen King's "Fairy Tale" (also very good).
On the Kindle, currently reading "An Absolutely Remarkable Thing" by Hank Green. Just started it, but feels like I'll enjoy it. Recently finished "American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer" by Kai Bird and Martin Sherwin, "Hail Mary Project" by Andy Weir, and "The Troop" by Nick Cutter.
Like I said...jump around across genres.

I’m a little bit country
And I’m a little bit rock 'n roll
I’m a little bit of Memphis and Nashville
With a little bit of Motown in my soul
I don’t know if it’s good or bad
But I know I love it so
I’m a little bit country
And I’m a little bit rock n roll -
You better make your face up with your favorite disguise
With your button down lips and your roller blind eyes
With your empty smile and your hungry heart
Feel the bile rising from your guilty past
With your nerves in tatters as the cockleshell shatters
And the hammers batter down your door
You better run! -
Subdivisions
In the high school halls
In the shopping malls
Conform or be cast out
Subdivisions
In the basement bars
In the backs of cars
Be cool or be cast out -
Dreamer, you know you are a dreamer
Well, can you put your hands in your head? Oh no!
I said, dreamer, you're nothing but a dreamer
Well, can you put your hands in your head? Oh no! -
Down in the crowded bars
Out for a good time
Can't wait to tell you all
What it's like up there
And they called it paradise
I don't know why
Somebody laid the mountains low
While the town got high -
They put a parking lot on a piece of land
Where the supermarket used to stand
Before that they put up a bowling alley
On the site that used to be the local palais
That's where the big bands used to come and play
My sister went there on a SaturdayCome dancing
All her boyfriends used to come and call
Why not come dancing?
It's only natural -
The Audacy app is my path into WGR, so I appreciate it overall...but man do I hope the new owners put their foot down on terrible ads. If I hear that "not to loooonnnggg if you think abooouutt iiiiit" zen den drone or the overly frantic "NOT MATTER HOW MUCH DUCT TAPE YOU UUUSSSSEE" kid one more time, I'll drown a puppy.
[editor's note - I will not drown a puppy]

Hey
Well, I feel so good, everything is getting high
You better take easy, 'cause the place is on fire
She know a thing, and I have so much to do
We made it, baby, and it happened to youAnd I'm so glad we made it
So glad we made it, you gottaGimme some loving (gimme, gimme some loving)
Gimme some lovin' (gimme, gimme some loving)
Gimme some lovin' every day (eh) -
You've got a cute way of talking
You got the better of me
Just snap your fingers and I'm walking
Like a dog hanging on your lead
I'm in a spin you know
Shaking on string you know
You make me feel like dancing
I'm gonna dance the night away
You make me feel like dancing
I'm gonna dance the night away
You make feel like dancing
I feel like dancing
Dancing, dance the night away
I feel like dancing, dancing, aaaah -
4 minutes ago, Bob Jones said:
Sports sites are reporting that attendance was 70,040. Can this be true? So it was a full house? No empty seats at all? I find it hard to believe, but I defer to those of you who were there. What say you?
I'm guessing the 70,040 is tickets sold, not actual attendance.

Win or lose, one thing is irrefutable- watching NFL games is painful with all commercial breaks.

Never a doubt, right? RIGHT???

This is me right now…
Bills win, get #2 seed and are an unstoppable force to the SB
Bills lose, and this season is an abject failure the like that this 60 yo fan has never seen.
Both are perfectly legit thoughts occupying my brain right now. I love/loath being a Bills fan.

Well baby, there you stand
With your little head down in your hand
Oh my God, you can't believe it's happening again
Your baby's gone and you're all alone
And it looks like the endBack out on the street
And you're trying to remember, oh
How do you start it over
You don't know if you can
You don't care much for a stranger's touch
But you can't hold your manYou never thought you'd be alone
This far down the line
But I know what's been on your mind
You're afraid it's all been wasted time -
I soon as I saw the Bears-Falcons game was a CBS game, I knew that was the one we'd get here. Ah well, that just bites.

What I remember most was all of the old COBOL programmers who made an f'ing mint in the months leading up to this non-event.

I'm running here
I'm running there
I'm looking for a girl
Cause there's nothing I need
There's nothing I want more
In the whole wide worldWell, I need it quick
And I need it now
Before I start to fade away
That's why I'm searching
That's why I'm looking
Each and every dayOh, I need some love
I said I need some love!
Oh yes, I need some love
This feeling I can't rise above
Yeah, yeah -
Good god…if this is what “commercial free fourth quarter” means, bring back the commercials

'Cause it's a bittersweet symphony, that's life
Tryna make ends meet, you're a slave to money then you die
I'll take you down the only road I've ever been down
You know the one that takes you to the places where all the veins meet, yeah- 1

Well the telephone is ringing
Is that my mother on the phone?
Telephone is ringing
Is that my mother on the phone?
The telephone is screaming
Won't she leave me alone?
The telephone is ringing
Is that my mother on the phone? -
Don't know why
There's no sun up in the sky
Stormy weather
Since my man and I ain't together
Keeps raining all of the time -
I turn my face to the sun
Close my eyes
Let my defenses down
All those wounds
That I can't get unwoundI let my past go too fast
No time to pause
If I could slow it all down
Like some captain
Whose ship runs aground
I can wait until the tide comes around -
We can only grow the way the wind blows
On a bare and weathered shore
We can only bow to the here and now
In our elemental war
