After review of the Carolina week 1 game...
JerseyBills replied to ajmac's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Pretty much exactly how I feel. That shoulder is definitely effecting Cam's ability on the field after watching the SF game... going to be interesting watching McD play chess with Rivera. SF just didn't look mentally tough at all, they moved the ball , just couldn't capitalize on scoring, their D was okay, but just seemed to check out at times. Like you said, I don't expect this Bills team to go into Charlotte and get in their own way. O and D played confident and fast last week , McD has this team mentally ready , I expect to see a Bills team that is all business like last week. 7.5 is a joke, line should realistically be 3-4 points, because our public perception is so bad, it's a high line, more money for me on my money line. It's going to be a good game, I see it 27-20 final in favor of the Bills.. -
I'm not so sure about that. I think we have the ability to win big. I really do.Big reason is I feel that Cam's shoulder is bothering him to the point it impacts his play. I think they have a subpar OL, the rookie RB and Stewart should be contained. I feel Carolina will be stout defensively but we have the best, most consistent player on the field in Shady, and if that run attack gets rolling early, the play action, we could really establish a quick lead and never look back. We'll see in 4 days!

You stole the words out of my mouth! The AFC especially is weak overall, compared to the NFC . There really isn't much separating us from the "Elite" teams. Which is the Pats* ? Oakland? Pitt? Ravens have an elite D ,I'll say that right now, but there really isn't any bullies in the AFC. Like you said, defense and Shady, who will have a huge impact in the pass game this year, with those two things at a high level, we can play with anybody. I'm done defending Taylor to guys with bias and hate towards him. Watch the game, look at his poise and footwork as opposed to last year, huge improvement, and I expect to get in the top 7 in scoring offense, our elite Rush attack is too much to contain for 4 quarters... Remember his last game last year vs Miami and @Seattle, he can play and I think these improvements will = consistentcy. More 1st downs, less 3 & outs. We have an all star coaching staff as well, imo and McD/Beane earned some trust watching that secondary of hand picked players look like they are going to be incredible this year. I might have to do that. Never did anything like that but this guy is brutal to converse with, how is he a Bills fan? How could you legitimately want to see failure from our QB? It makes me sick honestly

Incognito & Poyer Both Make PFF Team of the Week
JerseyBills replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Haha, oh I noticed, especially on a textbook beautiful block that sprung Shady free.Honestly not sure how Miller did, that's a tough DL, I thought the whole unit did great versus the pass, right side had some issues in run game, assuming average at least.. I really like Miller, he's not special but he's consistent enough and is well disciplined. -
Sure. Let's all get mad and have zero excitement our rookie HC had his team dominate in their first game on O and D. Man, some of you guys are brutallllll

Just pointing out, not arguing, we got a lot of pressure in 2nd half. McCown was getting the ball out super quick, we tightened up coverage and lead to 2 picks, multiple throwaways and absolutely nowhere for their run game.

Seriously!! Highest graded OL battling Mo Wilk and Leonard Williams. Him and Cordy are beasts on the left side -
Do you think we can beat Carolina?
JerseyBills replied to Steptide's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes, big reason being Cam's shoulder is DEFINITELY a bigger problem then Panthers are saying.. We are very healthy, I see a close game, think Shady being best player on field is the difference maker -
I completely disagree. I think Dennison is licking his chops with what he could do creatively with Tyrod. He wanted him in Denver, he clearly had a specific vision for Tyrod and sold his bosses on it. Peterman is staying put, where he should be.

The Defense yesterday was bland on purpose
JerseyBills replied to KellyToughII's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Pass rush caused 2 ints and like 5 throwaways in 2nd half , McCown was getting that ball out quick. Tightened up coverage in 2nd half, we got pressure and penetration in run game pretty consistently. He rotates his line to keep guys fresh, -
Lots of reasons to feel good

Thanks for the insight.Perfect description of this team and totally agree. Looking forward to the matchup.. I think it's a good test for both teams. I know you guys are heavy favorites but I feel that's more perception versus matchup.. You're getting Shady in his prime still, very interested how we do versus that 3 headed monster at LB -
He's not the man to do it. He can't carry this team like Rodgers, Stafford,Brady, there's not many elite play out there But he could be a key cog in the wheel. As well ad Shady looking like this for 16 games, and an above average defense.. Your second post completely proved my point, he's doing things we haven't seen, he's still growing as a QB, and I think his ceiling is higher than he gets credit for.

Wow! That's a helluva play on 3rd down. That accuracy and degree of difficulty I'd amazing If Dak Prescott made that play, it'd be in his highlight reel , getting heavy praise.

How do you know what Taylor can do in Dennison's West Coast scheme? Is it not possible a guy who has 30 starts under his belt can't improve? I live in the heart of North Jersey, why do I have more Jet fans than Bills fans praising him?? Look at his last two games, I see a QB who has a ton of potential IF molded right HOW IS THIS FAN BASE NOT EXCITED ABOUT OUR QB SITUATION? Shady is a RARE talent. He's a future H.O.Famer numbers don't lie. Taylor has a defense for the first time in his career and has Shady , and I'm telling you, he's going to be used in the pass game alot , he's going to make Taylor look better, because that's what rare talents do. The team truly believes in him, he DOESN'T TURN TBE BALL OVER, he is capable of being a playmaking QB, he's just been Inconsistent. Why are we rushing judgement on a 3rd year starter, who has led a top 12 and 10 scoring offense?? He plays like his last 2 games, Shady stays healthy and the defense is as good as advertised, we have a legit chance at being contenders I'm starting to think this is for ugly reasons, like not being your stereotypical QB reasons

Great point. The O absolutely looked crisp, they got to the line very quick, everybody was on the same page, it was super refreshing after last year with alot of confusion and late play calls. And man, I agree , I feel the minority too, because I'm rooting for the QB of the team I love , that has led top 12 scoring offenses with no defense. It's sad really.

Ah, you remember that lolAmazing was not the appropriate word, but I was excited by what I saw, I'm talking strictly his mechanics. Again, footwork in pocket, poise, scanning field , making throws I didn't see him make last year, ball placement allowing yac. All these things were an improvement over last year imo. I re watched the game and stand by these statements. I suggest you do the same and get back to us. And after the reaction I got after the first time I said the amazing comment, I was trolling man..
-
+1Hey how did you feel watching that post game speech? That felt like a team that truly believes they are playoff bound. They were hanging on every word coming out coaches mouth. With Rex you'd hear chatter, laughter, this was all business, dead serious, sounded like a group of men on a clear, defined mission, and they are all bought in
-
This is a very interesting and valid question,a question . He's now 15-14 as a starter, and for the first time has a defense. He is criminally disrespected on here imo.
-
Maybe you are right but look at him in the pocket , look at his footwork, look at that head scan the field, I can't remember one game where I was so impressed with these things. I counted twice where he escaped too early, felt "imaginary" pressure but he used to do that twice a quarter. Did he miss some throws? Sure , did you look around the league? Been and his o got held to 14 points by the worse D in the league, Ryan struggled, look at Eli without his Sammy Watkins.. The guy just got out of concussion protocol a week ago. Just started playing with Matthews, I didn't say he played an amazing game. I just loved what I saw in the pocket. 8/9 over the middle! And took command of an offense that put up over 400 yards! It raised his ceiling for me, he needs work of course but I am super encouraged by the mechanics he improved on. And I would call his footwork and poise in pocket a big improvement over anything on tape last year.

I'll keep this short, Taylor showed huge improvements in his game and it was evident from the first series. Specifically in the pocket. His footwork, poise and speed scanning the field looks to have improved drastically. A huge drop by Clay turned 7 into 0 and some very smart throwaways decreased his completion percentage but we totally dominated and controlled this game. He converted some big 3rd downs, and used his legs very effectively. Make no mistake, this offense runs through Shady but I think we are witnessing the evolution of Tyrod Taylor. I really felt Dennison held back big time in the 4th and just sat on the lead, up 2 scores, dominant defensive performance, that's fine but I'm really excited to see Taylor grow in this scheme and get comfortable with the WR corps. This was a true team win, well , maybe minus ST, but for the first time in quite some time the O and D both showed up, 400+ yards on O , just over 200 allowed. Taylor's stats weren't eye popping but he did what needed to be done and looked vastly improved in the pocket. I'm really excited to see us match up with Carolina, I don't see any reason we can't have the same outcome. Tyrod 2.0 is here
