OLine is not a disaster like it was but it's still not a strength. Morse cannot move a good DT an inch and is easily bull rushed. And he's one more head hit away from permanent injury. We need a wide-body stud center so we don't need trick plays or deep passes on 3rd and short.

So why not just cut Morse? Thought he been solid

Brady simplified the offense, not opened it up. Made it more basic. It was affective.

I guess what I meant is it was more unpredictable.  He unleashed Shakir, Joshs legs and the run game, especially Ty Johnson.

Bills have slumped before and turned it around. In fact I predicted it. Obviously I didn’t predict Dorsey would be fired but I thought they’d get out of the funk and that Josh would run again when it’s crunch time.

They obviously called the game differently. Brady called the game like we had zero WR talent and couldn’t run an NFL passing offense. Dorsey called it like we had an elite all pro QB and elite passing weapons.

I prefer Dorsey’s approach. We’ll see what happens.

This is an interesting quote. I do some truth to this

I def prefer Brady, he just opened the offense up,  and even their final drive of the year went 16 plays, nearly 7 min and should've been capped off with a TD

As an aside, I used to be a die hard Mets fan, and was always a fan of Mahomes Sr.

I think I was always drawn to these middle relievers for some reason— loved guys like Turk Wendell, Dennis

Cook, and Armando Benitez from those late 90s Mets teams too!

He just had an interview on wfan .. Was driving and Never knew he even played baseball til that interview but was a good listen

I have said it multiple times but they are in a MUCH healthier roster place this offseason than last.

Yes they will lose their safety axis finally. And they need to re-stock the Dline, but the have some rookie contract contributors. This time a year ago the 2022 draft looked like it might be a dud. Instead we have four starters from it and then the first two picks of 2023 look like hits. The Bills needed that. And they need to stack another class like that now.... while finding that elusive receiver at the same time ideally.

ya the OL especially was a massive concern that changed immediately into a strength after 1 off season..

Also hopeful for guys like Shorter and Darien in 43 situations can be more added youth. I'm very optimistic for the future

yes , a RB averaging 3 YPC is what every team needs

ya he lost snaps to Spears late in the year but still had monster games, which is why he could be affordable,  used in a limited role with Cook being the main guy, that'd be a tough change of style for defenses to adjust to

I don’t wanna lose Ty Johnson

I agree with this he’s going to end up costing too much, and we will not be able to give him the carries that he needs in order to be effective

ya, I loved his game under Brady, but if we keep Hines, which looks like they will, we'll need a bruiser in that rotation

Among most, if not all, posts talking about freeing up cap space - Nyheim Hines being released is mentioned.

And in a vacuum, it seems like a no brainer type of move. But it appears it's not going to happen.

I've touched on this in other posts a bit before but there's factors at play here. When the injury occured, his agent started speaking up about filing a grievance if he wasn't taken care of. Then it all went away.

Beane and he came to an agreement. Hines would keep a portion of his money and not be released and in turn, most of his money for last season would come off the books - freeing up some cap space for last year and Hines and his people wouldn't file a grievance.

I've been almost positive part of that agreement was he wouldn't be cut and given every opportunity to reclaim his job. Hines has said that he's going to be a Bill this year:

    https://www.si.com/nfl/bills/news/buffalo-bills-nyheim-hines-injury-rehab-jet-ski-accident

Yesterday at Beane's Year End Presser - he confirmed it. Nyheim Hines will not be an offseason cap casualty:

    (56:49 - 57:22)

I'm not a capologist, so I don't know if there's any massaging that can be done to his contract to create some relief somewhere. But it's pretty clear that unless he is completely physically unable to perform, Nyheim Hines will be one of our RB's behind James Cook.

I'm much bigger on Hines than most, dude is a flat out playmaker and was missed

Yes.  This is a great idea if he's medically good.  Turn it up a few more notches.

Round 1 - Brian Thomas Jr / Troy Franklin

    Round 2- Xavier Legette / _______________

    Hollywood

    Shakir (slot)

    Harty (?)

    Shorter

Don't think they can afford two wrs in first 2 rds unless they trade back, plus with Beanes history of  Davis (4th) and Shakir (5th) were contributers and potentially Shorter after a red shirt year, so unless they have a blue chip prospect they won't and shouldn't double dip at wr

Now that the dust has settled, I’ve really looked at the statistical production of some of our guys.

I knew Shakir had a good year, then I really looked at his production.

    He had a PHENOMENAL year.

39 catches and 2 TDs are decent numbers for a ‘#3 WR,’ but can we talk about his 86% catch rate? That is outstanding. Caught 10 of 12 in the playoffs for 2 more TDs as well.

282 Yards after catch? Love it.

    15+ yards per reception.

    133 QBR when targeted.

    Ready for this?

45 targets. Zero interceptions when Allen looked his way.

57 targets when you add in the postseason. Still zero INTS.

Fifty Seven targets. Zero drops. Zero. ZERO. Bills were in the bottom of the drop statistic this season.

I don’t think Shakir should come off the field. He’s the slot WR and should be the #2 WR target.

I’d love data on if he lined up outside when the team went to 2 WR sets after Gabe’s injury, or if he came off the field.

Shakir has shown BIG TIME potential, and it’s the little things that hint to it.

    Thoughts?

    🦬

Yes, he's a stud, I love how twitchy he is after the catch too.

Only issue is him being able to play outside but we should go way more 3 wide , which seems like Brady did and ditch the 2 TE looks

  11. After seeing Bal it hit me hard cause I feel we win that game and are on to a SB. sucks but I'm surprisingly not that bummed out, 13 seconds, even last year and 2020 , I can't even listen to sports or go on twitter and see anything football related but I was more just numb to it this year

I just feel great about this team going forward , especially with Brady as OC, after 13 secs we all knew Dabol was gone
