  2. Well, the wind is acreepin' up my back Through the door, through the roof, through the window crack Tossin' and a-turnin' all night long To the rhythm and the sound of a saddened song Saddened song, oh Lord
  3. Funny how these things come about When you're tied to the teeth and mouth The sound of fury, a shot of pain There was no real reason, no gain I can't go down to the water's edge I didn't do it, I saw who did Don't go down to the water's edge They did it once and they can do it again
  4. Speaking of birds; The other day was a spectacular spring day, and my garden berm was full of fat worms, happy to feel the heat from the sun. In the trees above there were two red breasted robins building a nest. When they looked down and saw all the worms wriggling in the soft soil of the berm below, they immediately flew down and began gorging themselves on the worms. After a while the robins, with their belly's full, decided to lay back on the berm and bask in the sunshine, but just about that time the neighbors cat showed up, and pounced on the robins. The robins were so full of worms they were unable to fly away, and the cat devoured them. After the cat had his meal of fat robin, he laid back on the berm satisfied and very full and exclaimed "don't you just love Baskin Robins."

  10. Your faith was strong but you needed proof You saw her bathing on the roof Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew you She tied you to a kitchen chair She broke your throne, and she cut your hair And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah
  11. Sparkle as the tears come, they glitter as they fall. You sacrifice your love for the wonder of it all. But I will, and you won't - and I deal, and you don't, yeah. Livin' on pain and sorrow, until you find another way. Livin' on pain and sorrow, until I find another way.
  12. Later I tried to call you Your mama told me you weren't there She told me don't bother to call again Unless I cut off all my hair I get so tired of sneakin' around Just to get to your back door I crawled past the garbage and Your mama jumped out, screamin' "Don't come back no more"

  14. Baby, dance your bright blue tango And a mystifying suite Go bumping into strangers Go soaring into the street They all know it's wrong It's just for you to try and make them see it, baby If they want to lead us Ask each man if he's the one to be Dance your bright blue tango… Let them see

  17. I was born here in the city With my back against the wall Nothing grows, and life ain't very pretty No one's there to catch you when you fall
  18. Most times you can't hear 'em talk, other times you can All the same old clichés, is it woman, is it man? And you always seem outnumbered, so you don't dare make a stand Here I am, on a road again There I am, on the stage Here I go, playing star again There I go, turn the page
  19. Home, home again I like to be here when I can When I come home cold and tired It's good to warm my bones beside the fire Far away, across the field The tolling of the iron bell Calls the faithful to their knees To hear the softly spoken magic spells

  22. Let me die like a man, no one understands Let me pray that a poor man pray Smack that horse in the ass, with my last dying gasp My brother could hear me say Give me some water 'Cause I shot a man on the Mexican border Cool, cool water Give me some water
  23. And if the cloud bursts, thunder in your ear You shout and no one seems to hear. And if the band you're in starts playing different tunes I'll see you on the dark side of the moon.
  24. Well, I took one look at you and it almost drove me mad And then I even went and lost what little sense I had Now I can't tell the day from night, I'm crazy as a loon You got me chasin' Rabbits, pullin' out my hair and Howlin' At The Moon.
  25. Well I woke up Sunday mornin', with no way to hold my head that didn't hurt And the beer I had for breakfast wasn't bad, so I had one more, for dessert Then I fumbled through my closet, for my clothes and found my cleanest dirty shirt And I shaved my face and combed my hair and, stumbled down the stairs to meet the day
