  1. Let me say I was like many of you concerning JP, I wanted him to prove most people wrong and hoped he would not play like a rookie. Reality check - he is playing like a poor rookie. However, I don't buy into the thinking that we need to let him grow into the position. That's plain stupid! In today's NFL you simply don't have the time to groom a QB. The pieces of your team are never around long enough to afford you that. Let's face it we are getting old in a lot of key places. Sam Adams, Lawyer Milloy, Troy Vincent, London Fletcher all aren't getting any younger. Add to that Free Agency. Nate Clements and oh by the way McGahee won't be around to see the day when JP finally, if ever comes around to being a decent QB. In addition, we tank the season away and see how many FA show interest in coming to frigid Buffalo. This team is positioned to win NOW. And the Bills have to put the best product on the field to win each Sunday, NOW! JP is not the best product to do that. He's already got the entire offense playing with NO confidence. And I convinced that's rubbing off on the defense. I say give Holcomb a shot before the season is a total loss. Waiting around for JP to gain his much needed experience is at the expense of the entire team. A team that won't be around when things finally click. By then what we'll have is a QB with no running game, no decent recievers, and a rebuilding defense. Sorry but I'm not looking forward to that>
  2. A lot can change in a week. Remember we were worse off last year at this time and things got turned around. Ya gotta believe!
  3. Next week is so so big. We win against the Saints, we come back home for two weeks and beat both Miami and NYJ. We then go back on the road with huge momemtum and beat Oakland. That puts us at 5 - 2 heading to New England and who knows. But.....we lose next week and with JP still struggling, the wheels fall off. Kiss this season so long. Let's hope for the first option. GO BILLS
  4. With the defense we've seen the past 2 weeks in row he better start winning the game because the D simply SUCKS!
  5. Here's my cut list. Willis McGahee Eric Moulds Lee Evans Roscoe Parrish Sam Adams Takeo Spikes London Fletcher Nate Clements Lawyer Milloy and the entire starting OL It's obvious they all stink, cause we lost two preseason games and therefore we need to start all over with new guys. I was willing to give J.P. one more chance, but if he throws just one more INT he's out of here. "Smile"
  6. The easiest way to answer the question is to compare what your reaction would be if their were an NFL lockout like the one the NHL just went through. I don't know about anyone else, but I survived the NHL lockout just fine. No hockey for a year took a little getting used to, but it was like adjusting my pillow at night, I found a comfortable alternative pretty quickly. I can't even begin to imagine a year without The Bills. No training camp, no preseason expectations, 18 consecutive Sundays without the Bills. Makes me break out into a cold sweat just thinking about it. Bills 98.5% Sabres 1.5%
  7. What I find amazing is how quickly this spineless, incompetent "mother" suddenly grew a backbone over the phone. Seems to me she should channel some of that aggression in the direction of "Her" kids. Calling the police to break up a fight between your own 12 and 13 1/2 old daughters, what a joke!
  8. With the release of Prioleau and the money saved with it. The talk of a restructuring of MW contract and the money saved there. I'm convinced this is clearing space to sign the 1 FA pickup TD has focused on. He stated yesterday in answering questions that the Bills had the means to sign whoever they felt they needed. This certainly looks like their getting ready to doing just that. I for one hope it's the final moves necessary to sign Demulling. Let's get our O-line set and start moving forward.
  9. I can't believe with all the guys who regularily post here that "claim" they know someone inside the Bills organization that no one knows what our cap status is. If that is the case than why in the world are we even talking free agency if we don't know what we have to spend.
  10. I'd like to know what the Bills cap status is once and for all. Just before the free agent market opened, I heard anywhere between 8 million to 11 million under. Lately folks have been implying the Bills have very little to spend. Where exactly do we stand? We signed two relatively cheap FA in Gandy and Holcomb. What do we have left?
  11. Considering that TD hasn't used much of our available cap space in signing Holcomb and Gandy, and that I do expect the trade for Shelton to still go through, I wouldn't be surprised to see us make an offer for Bubba Franks. He's a restricted FA so we would have to make an offer that Green Bay wouldn't match. We're really thin at TE and with a young QB he'll need a good TE to check off to. I hope Bubba is that one.
  12. I'm well aware he hasn't played much at all. But......he will not be entering the season as a rookie QB as many seem to acting like. He was drafted in the 1st round, LAST YEAR. That was based upon the judgement of those who are far more qualified to assess talent than any of us are. Now he's had an entire season to learn our system. He's not a rookie coming into camp for the first time having to learn a play book. He's had a season to build confidence among his teammates. He's not a green rookie coming to training camp for the first time. He's seen the pro game at full speed, granted from the sideline, but that is more than your typical rookie. He has the entire off season to be tutored by Wyche. He's not a rookie waiting to sign a contract before reporting to camp. Now, consider that Big Ben went through all of that rookie stuff, and still came out OK. Does JP have a lot of real game time experience. No! But he's not a green rookie. Let's stop acting like he is. He was drafted in the first round for a reason. To play quarterback for the Buffalo Bills. Let's sit back and watch him do just that. Could he turn out to be a bust, sure. But we'll never find that out until he plays. With Moulds and Evans to throw to and Willis to hand off toI got a feeling he'll work out just fine.
  13. Folks; Too many folks sound like they given up on any chance of a Rams win tomorrow. Now, I'm not going to assure a win but, let's look at this unemotionally. Playing at home. A must win game for the Rams. Mark Bulger playing his second full game, minus the rust. Throwing to two vet studs in Holt and Bruce. Stephen Jackson coming off of a big game last week. Marshall Faulk still a factor coming out of the back field. The meltdown Jets playing on the road in a must win game. Chad Pennington with a noodle arm. A head coach whose not one. Can't even manage a game clock so he hires another coach to do it for him. Curtis Martin becomes a none factor if the Rams jump out to an early lead. Maybe I'm being overly optimistic, but I really see the game shaping up to be a very good chance for a Rams win. Especially if they jump out to an early lead of 10 - 14 pts. The Jets will implode early if that happens. Bills just need to take care of business!!
  14. Living in Hampton Virginia, I don't get to see much of the Bills games. The only game I've seen this year is the New England meltdown on Sunday Night Football. If your not a Redskins or Ravens fan Sundays are spent following your team (The Bills) on the internet. The Bills/Steelers game is on down here this Sunday and I'm pumped.
  15. Is it just me, or does anyone else find it strange that Bruce Smith never seemed to officially retire. For a player that was one of the most dominating players to ever play (at least when he was a Bill), doesn't it seem odd that he just simply stopped playing without anyone noticing. No final game press conference, no teary farewell to the game, just gone. Don't get me wrong, I understand that Bruce was a jerk in many ways. I realize he was a selfish player at times. I know he left Buffalo simply for more money. But he is the greatest DE that ever played for the Bills, and one of the best ever in the NFL. Now you see him in beer commercials between games and realize he's not playing anymore. What a shame for a great career to end without anyone noticing.
