  1. Jets were pretty good. Defense is no worse than last year - their young safeties are a big upgrade over last year's DBs.

I thought Bills played well. And I kept thinking this is a game we really needed. Open vs. a lesser opponent let's them come together as a team a little before a tougher test next week. Lots of folks on the field that had not played together before. I thought it looked quite promising. And it is not a given we lose to the Panthers by any means.

They looked much more organized and professional than last year. No situations I recall where we had too many men, not enough men, players running it at the last second (saw that once) or the team not being set at the snap. Seemed like a professional football club.

  2. Bills beat Pats in Boston on Christmas Eve to take division. If they have that chance, I will be there.

BTW - was there when they shut out the Pats last year. It was fantastic. Sure, they did not have Brady. But Pats fans were SO smug going in. ("Oh, you are a Bills fan? isn't that cute - didn't know those still existed. Well, we will go kind of easy with you without Brady today - but remember, we are 3-0. Bellichek is so smart it doesn't matter who plays QB, don't you know?) The place was 2/3rds empty by 3rd quarter.

  3. It is, however, uncommon for Brady to be in his 40's. At some point he won't be him anymore, why not not now!

Pats shaky 10-6, Bills in playoffs, until proven otherwise.

Kidding aside, I was shocked how inaccurate Brady was. And he did not look at all at ease with his wideouts. That will improve, of course, but he is going to miss Edelman all year and Amendola is sure to miss significant time over the season.

  4. No need to tank in today's NFL. It is an absurd idea - even the "suck for Luck" drive has arguably been a failure (except in the getting Luck part). We are retooling, not tanking, and if the team over-performs a bit we could slip into the playoffs.

And wasn't that Pats loss a beautiful thing to behold! I know we want Chiefs to lose every game, but I can't believe any true Bills fan could sit there and not be delighted while the Patsies lose at home on the night they were presented with their rings. Watching Brady get drilled while trying to play catch-up at the end was priceless. Like one of the Bills games only it was the Pats!

  5. Taylor provides stability at the QB position. He does not turn the ball over. He may not win you a lot of games, but he won't lose many either. And because of his "unique attributes" (legs/deep ball), he puts up points. He does not look conventional in doing so and clearly has challenges as a passer. But we coudl be much, much worse off. The talking heads see him as "underrated." I would not be so quick to run him out of town, even if we pick one QB high. Number 1 pick QBs flame often. I will never understand why it is either (from the lovers) "one more year and he will develop and be our guy" or "he will never be a franchise quarterback and has to go." I don't know that either is true. Two years of evidence proves he is responsible with the ball and will get you some points. Like any position we should always be looking to upgrade. That doesn't mean a hard-working team player like Tyrod needs to go. if we had a decent defense either of the last two years we produced enough offense to make the playoffs.
