  1. Yes....absolutely. We released Fitz and signed Kevin Kolb to play while EJ developed and we all remember how that turned out.... Manuel was thrown in the lineup too early after 2 left feet slipped and fell, was injured and last year was replaced with Kyle Orton (both situations ruined his development and confidence). These problems could have been solved by giving Fitz an extra year or 2 in a new system, and if Manuel wasnt ready in 2014, Im sure Fitz with Watkins and Woods would have been better than Orton was.
  2. Havent we seen this before? The 2004 Buffalo Bills, like this years team are similar in that both squads -Have a Veteran statue of a QB that can put up big yards and get the ball deep, but are prone to disastrous mistakes if the protection breaks down (like pick sixes, and strip fumbles) yet keeps you believing we are in every game -Have a dominant Defense featuring two big tackles that stuff the run, quick ends who get to the QB and a secondary that leaves much to be desired (although the '04 squad was much better in the secondary) -Good outside/slot receivers and an explosive rookie WR that was drafted in the first round that had an up n down year (Lee Evans finished with close to 900 yds and 9 TD's) -A two headed running attack featuring two good RB's that had some injuries and pressed others into action - An offensive line that looked good on paper, but broke down in big situations that led to turnovers, and long 3rd downs -A second year head coach/system We should finish with a shot at the playoffs (like in '04) .....I just hope if its a "Win and your in" scenario come week 17....we dont blow it to a bunch of backups like in 2004, and I certainly do not want to blow the whole thing up in the offseason like we did following that season!
  3. Didnt Meriweather make the pro bowl the last 2 years?? I'd take him to start at SS
  4. Former 2nd round pick in 08 was a standout for St Louis that missed last year with a leg injury (I believe). He could provide the bills with the deep speed we lost when we traded Lee Evans. At the 2008 combine, Avery, a former track star, posted a 4.27 40 yard dash time!!! Any thoughts?

  6. Loved what they (the starters) did out there last night, the backups did a great job sealing a come from behind victory in OT too....Does anyone remember a few years back (I believe in 08?) when Trent Edwards and co. smoked the Steelers starters? and is it just me, or did it look hauntingly similar to last nights performance that had everyone in Western NY jacked up back then too?
  7. Right On! Great Game! First string offense looked hauntingly similar to the 08 Bills - Steelers Preseason game when smoked the Black n Golds first string D for the first half ........ and ended the season 7 and friggin 9 again
