  1. Mr Dithers...

I respect and admire what he has accomplished in his lifetime and have come to applaud him for his accomplishments. Yet at the same time... am a very frustrated fan because I realize he will never step up and hire another Chuck Knox when he easily could have this past year, and ended his legacy with a winning team!

He was willing to offer Shanahan and Cowher more money than Shanahan received in Washington so saying he will never step up is beyond ignorant

  2. No one has ever claimed, in my recollection, that Ralph wasn't cheap before Polian...to keep suggesting otherwise is not only ridiculous, but dishonest..find some proof of anyone saying he wasn't cheap back then or just come out an admit you can't debate like an adult.

As far as recently, the proof has been given repeatedly that he's not cheap anymore...anyone who ignores the facts that have been given ad nauseum is just arguing out of blind hatred

I do not understand why he has not taken steps to preserve the franchise after he moves on? Maybe he has and this is his secret legacy to be revealed after he is gone?
A rumor came out 2 1/2 years ago...when Ralph passes away, Mary gets the team...no estate tax...she plans to sell the team to Kelly's group of investors...considering the confidence with which Kelly has, at times, talked about keeping the team here, I'd say the rumor has a lot of validity
  3. It was following the theme, suggesting boneless wings with ranch, going to pizza hut, etc....

Pizza Hut wings are actually pretty good...nowhere near someplace like Duff's but if you tried to pass them off as coming from a normal Buffalo bar, you couldn't tell the difference...at least at the Pizza Hut I had them at

  4. That, to me, is the biggest problem with Edwards during the game. He only wants to throw to guys he sees are open. He seems to have never learned that in the NFL you have to see the defense and decide which receiver will get open and put the ball there.

He really needs to trust his receivers, hopefully he learns it this year.

    There's a term for that

Rob Johnson Syndrome..he never trusted in his receivers getting open until he saw it happen and took too long to pull the trigger

The biggest issue I see with Trent is how he stares down his receivers...if I can see who the ball is going to before the snap, the defense will see it as well

  5. I have not read one negative comment from anyone in response to Mike's reports. We need to get his address & shower him with gifts. VERY much appreciated...it's like we're almost there!

Buy him pitchers of beer...but watch out!

If you don't stop apologizing for doing us a favor I'm going to fly back to Ra Cha Cha and kick your scrawny ass!

    Thanks Mike!

You must be a big guy saying that...lol

As far as Leodis on the punts, I doubt it, but I wonder if the ball coming from the Jugs gun instead of off of Moorman's foot has any part to play...maybe a little more velocity on it than a natural punt. Roscoe, Leodis, and Ellis Lankster were the 3 on punts and Roscoe was the only one doing a consistent job fielding them

  6. Anyone know who the other draft choices are that never played a down for the team that drafted them. The article said there are 6?

John Elway would be a one.

not sure of all the names but the article is wrong because if there were 4 counting him at the time, there are at least 8 now...in addition to Elway, you have Eli Manning (drafted by Chargers) and Phillip Rivers (drafted by Giants)

and there's also a LB drafted by the Colts in 87 who never played for them..went by the nickname of Biscuit

  7. Or it is safe to say that the 7.9 posts a day that you post are all going to be negative.

Any one know how to block someone on this board? I am sick of reading crap from this guy and some other ppl.

  8. I know that the stadium field generally gets a lot hotter and they've rarely, if ever, used it for afternoon practices.

Something I noticed....a lot more fast-paced a practice than under Jauron. Players didn't lackadaisically walk back to the huddle or coaches after a play or drill the way they did under Jauron

  9. Sure...Chad Ochocinco is my favorite player in the NFL without any Bills ties so hoping TO does well is easy...he kept out of trouble with us (there were a few times his effort seemed lacking, however) and the only drama was that he supposedly dissed Thurman in the locker room before a game...but maybe he read Thurman's political tweets and they were the cause of that...lol

  10. Nice KEN IRVIN analysis, but I think you have overated switching sides a little. Going from left to right or from the right to left side does not give you an excuse to absolutely lapse in coverage repeatedly. Kenny was a big gain waiting to happen, it didn't matter which side of the field he was playing. HE SUCKED HARD. For some odd reason, he recieved a lot of praise during his time in Minnesota, but I was glad to see him go.

well, like I said, you wouldn't think it would be a big deal but the switch from LCB to RCB definitely hurt him..as far as sucking hard at LCB, that's ridiculous...he was definitely a downgrade from Burris and Kerner would've been better had he not gotten injured, but he hardly sucked hard..he was average and sometimes slightly above average...the praise in Minnesota can be attributed to one thing...coaching

  11. McGahee and Jason Peters are the 2 ex-Bills I would love seeing out of the league...world class douchebags who didn't give their all when they were here

Flutie and RJ...besides Flutie's penchant for not throwing the ball to open receivers and RJ's unwillingness to trust his WRs enough to throw them the ball...damn...eerily similar, the way the two of them handled themselves in the QB controversy was embarassing and hurt the team almost as much as their poor play did.

Gregg Williams...pompous jackass who thought he was better than he was...the mark of a good coach is to adapt your schemes around the players you have....Williams did the opposite

Dickerson...pathetic college coach...decent-at-best DL Coach, and awful loudmouthed radio host...his influence is what turned Mike Schopp into the world class douchebag he is today

Dan Brandenburg--Just stay in your coverage lane like Bruce Dehaven told you 20 seconds before going out on the field.

I think Daryl Porter was farther out of his lane than anyone but any of the players who left their coverage lanes were screw-ups

    KEN IRVIN

    God did he suck!!!

actually, he was pretty decent...maybe average to above average until he made a position switch. When he came into the league in 95, with fellow CB Marlon Kerner, he was slotted at LCB on the 2nd team. He and Marlon never switched, either. When Jeff Burris left in free agency, that opened the starting spot at, you guessed it, LCB. Kerner's 2 knee injuries took him to IR and out of the competition for the starting role. Irvin held down the starting LCB spot and did ok, not great, with it until an injury in Winfield's rookie season. Antoine came in and played well at LCB the last few games of the season and, rather than switch the rookie over to RCB the next season when Thomas Smith left in free agency, they switched Irvin over ther and he struggled. You wouldn't think switching sides of the field would be a big deal, but Ken had the LCB so ingrained in muscle memory, that when turning out of his back-pedal to stay with the WR, he hesitated...started to turn one way before turning the other.

#2 norwood (cost us sb win)

anyone who seriously thinks that is seriously in need of some education as well as class. Defense lost the game, not Scotty

  12. If you reverse how we handle our QB situation in the regular season, then Johnson probably gets benched in the finale and Flutie benefits from the surrounding cast handing him a win over Indy before losing to Tennessee. This is what happens when none of your QBs are good enough. Truth be told, Alex Van Pelt was probably the best QB on the roster....

    QFT B-)

  13. You're missing the point of the title though -- the irony of a valley girl named Buffy who is chosen to save the world. It's all about shedding society labels. I looked for the interview with Whedon in which he discussed it much more eloquently than I just have, but I can't find it offhand.

Basically the title was chosen to emphasize the phrase, "Don't judge a book by its title."

    From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buffy_Summers

    http://uk.movies.ign.com/articles/425/425492p6.html

IGNFF: Where did the name Buffy come from?

WHEDON: It was the name that I could think of that I took the least seriously. There is no way you could hear the name Buffy and think, "This is an important person." To juxtapose that with Vampire Slayer, just felt like that kind of thing – a B movie. But a B movie that had something more going on. That was my dream.

  14. I can't fault the #3 ranking for Buffy Summers...not sure who I'd put there ahead of her, whether it be Spike or Xander

If the show was as good as many of you are saying and I trust some of your opinions, the creators of the show really !@#$ed up if they wanted to attract adults like me who love the vampire genre. Calling the show "Buffy" the Vampire Slayer lost a lot of us. I have no desire to watch anything with Buffy in the title (well Buffy Does Buffalo might get a look) so I never saw one episode.

Changing the name wouldn't have made a whole lot of sense, though.

When the name Buffy was mentioned before the series, most people think of a shallow self-centered girl...which is what Buffy Summers was before she was activated. Now, take a shallow self-centered girl and imbue her with powers and a big responsibility...pretty big adjustment. Wouldn't have seemed as big a deal to name her Betty or Marge or anything like that
