I think Chan is trying to start a fire under these guys rears. Playing base o and d against denver gave some of the guys a taste of humble pie. He is trying to get the guys to play angry.
-
Ferd should shut-up and just do his job!!! Chan wanted to see where his players were at developmentally, chan knows what fred can do.. CJ needs the work and need to improve so he can contribute more. Plus Fred should like the fact that he is not getting worked to death so when his contract is up he can score a 1 or 2 year deal for some decent $$$.

I think that after 3 years the picture should be clear enough. I thought they drafted well this year but we will have to see yet. I dont think that last years draft was that bad because of the Spiller pick. I too had enough with the rb picks, but the top 2 Offensive and top 2 Defensive linemen were taken. So, if the took any linemen in that spot the would be reaching for that player. Not too mention Spiller did contribute 1600 total yards, 2 TDs, and 2 tackles.
As far as the team being worst tough call. I think that there schedule was harder, the offense was better but the defense was worst. Since they put most of the resources into the defense we better see a real improvement on D. After next year if we dont see the sings of rebuilding being over it time to put the Bills in more capable hands.

Andy filled in at LT before and did pretty well for a rookie out of position. I think that they are seeing that if bell or pears goes down we dont have a suitable replacement.
-
Good to hear he got a sack. BTW Danny Batten has a few too!!! I hope mabin likes NY.

I am sure that the Chan gang talked at great length about what the lose without Lee. They must feel that they have someone on the roster that can do what lee does. Maybe another receiver is not quite as good going deep but is much better with the underneath routs. It seems that Chan likes versatility form the skill guys. With lees contract if they thought that they needed him they would have kept him. If lee is a true #1 or #2 nfl started I am surprised that he was only worth a 4th round pick.

This is great the coaches are trying to assemble the best possible line with the talent they have. Still have 3 more preseason games to tinker with all the possible combinations.
-
a 4th and a 6th is not good value for us imo. I dont think money is an issue for us but his current contract is a up side to where he would go. I would not deal him for less than a 3rd and a 5th, but getting a needed player would be best.
-
This kid can play!! He will make contributions in on several special teams, wildcat w/true pass potential, depth at wr and 3rd qb. Everyone yells that we need a play maker well here he is. Other teams are going to go nuts trying to prepare for him in Chans system.
-
If Merriman played last year we would have won at least 4 more games. If he can stay healthy our defense will be much better. We didnt have a legit pass rusher last year, teams will have to plan for him which will take pressure off other players.
-
The problem I see is that he is worth more to us than to other teams. But, if the deal is good enough to make the Bills better in the long term then get it done!!
-
He is a solid player, people act like the extension contract was crazy money. Actually his contract is average for a guy that plays his position. He was not contracted to be the star of the defense!!
-
He might be a good OLB but he might be a great ILB!!! The coaches that made the decisions watched him a little closer than we did.
-
I bet Scott makes the roster, even is Whitner is signed.
-
It was the Pittsburgh game that he dropped that pass
-
Last year he was "lucky" enough to play on a defence with;
the WORST D coaching
no pass rush specialist after Aron retired
fellow linemen who created absolutely no disruption (other than Williams)
a bunch of teammates on IR
little help from the offense
I think that most of the issues above have been addressed so we will see. Last year he started all 16 games, made 46 tackles, 3.5 sacks, and a forced fumble, not to shabby for a guy with NO supporting cast. Everyone is pissed about the contract he got, like its Julies Peppers type money??? Lastly I like him because he shows up and plays his ass off!!!!
-
well said he was still on so yea. just thought he didn't cuz he was like "o wow i was wrong Harris is much better than Pears."
I dont understand why your nuts are in a knot over this guy. The best he could pull is a 1 year deal. If he was any better than the cast of "warm bodies" dont you think that 1 of the 32 teams would have tied him up for more than 1 year.
-
Didn't we just draft a corner at the beginning of round 2?
and returning 2 starters from last year.
-
I dont like pros that cant show up in shape. Whether its Peters or this guy.
-
With 15 lbs on the roster mabin better start eating.lol It might be tough to keep him on the roster unless he starts to show that he can play.
-
Can someone show me the list of free agents?
-
To us Bills fans there will always be a QB controversy ... it harkens back to the days of Kemp/Lamonica and is a common thread through Flutie/Johnson and Edwards/Losman .... yes even during the Kelly years there were calls for Reich (although less so because we were winning).
It's our heritage ... it's what we do
And this shows what the general public knows Reich over Kelly. lol
