  1. brady looked scared and pissed all night. seemed like he was trying to do too much. i have no idea what the stat line is, but watching i was thinking about them needing more rythm in the run game. instead it seemed like they where intent on having brady win the game, and the jets didnt care about anything other than dryving him as far into the ground as they could. while brady can be calm cool and collected in the pocket. he seemed a bit rattled and taken off of his game.

either of these two teams winning is just more proof that the terrorists have already won!

  2. This is actually a lot more personal than what Cromartie said about Brady.

So why isn't the media all over Welker for showing a lack of class and providing board material?

    1. because it was a black man talking smack to a white guy

    2. becuae a black man is talking smack to tom brady

    3. because people need to be more understanding of the plite of tom brady

  3. i agree on giving him more time. i am still holding out hope for the kid. i think he still may pan out. do i think he can be a feature, every carry back? my take so far is no, i dont even see glimpses of that. do i think he can be a force in the league at a very real level? absolutely.

the only comments on this thread(atleast from me) are on his ability to pass block, which as of right now he is currently poor.

  4. I also wonder how that factored into other teams and their defensive schemes. Anybody have an idea how many pass plays were run with CJ in the backfield? Would his presence let teams cheat run because it was more likely Freddy would be in there on pass for his superior blocking? Or am I making something up?

I think he will get better at it, and I expect to see a lot of improvements and adjustments from year 1 to year 2. I don't think he wants to be a 5 carry/game 300 yard/year scat back, and I think his first season in the NFL will give him some clear things to work on.

The fact that spiller cant pass block has been one of the most glaring weakneses for me all season. You would think that Freddy would be in on either big 3rd down plays or big passing downs. Actually it is the opposite, Spiller is in there, and I never have any idea why. It has become a pattern and everytime i see him whiff his block. I have been so confused by this all season

  5. My opinion has been the same since last year ended.

We will just need to find another beast. That boy has some serious leg strength and can hit and drive. There are parts of me that miss him for that.

Moving on Let freddy finesse let cj waterbug,

but give me another Marshawn with a nicer smile.

With Wood coming on and some real hope for Bell and Levitre,

Give us another grinder to break em down. And once in a while break one. way to go Lynch!

    totally agree

  6. in 16 games this year Lynch rushed for 737 yards and 6 TDs on 202 carries for an average of 3.6 YPC. Wow man I'm disappointed we gave all that production up for only a 4th round pick. Cmon guys, outside of that highlight reel run he was 28th in yards and tied for 17th in TDs. Nothing too impressive for a former 1st round pick.

basically we lost a 1st and marshawn(his stats you mentioned) for spiller who has 283 yards and 0 tds in 14 games and easley(who may have upside still) who has 0 cathes for 0 yards and 0 td.

the trade of lynch was more for his happiness, the rebirth of the team, and to appease the fans. he would have been an asset to the team had we kept him. he has a lot more carries in him, and no matter what people say freddy isnt getting any younger, another good season or 2 tops. spiller may be a threat (although i never get that excited feeling that other posters get when they see him with the ball) he clearly isnt an every down back.

so to recap, we gave all that up and in 2 years have to spend another pick on an rb to replace our aging starter because the 1st we used doesnt make up for the loss still. i trust this new front office, hopefully i am proved wrong, but to say the trade was anything better than washing our hands clean of lynch is insane

  7. Perhaps another element of character, this time in the form of toughness and grit. I wasn't all that impressed with Cam wincing in pain, limping around, and carrying on like he was playing on a broken foot or something. He got hurt during the game, not injured, SUCK IT UP!! You're leading your team in the National Championship game for christ's sake!! Lead by example and show some toughness.

My opinion of him changed greatly after last night. He may have all the athletic talent in the world, but I say no thanks on Cam.

it is clear you have zero concept of athletics or injury/being hurt. while an xray may reveal nothing, an xray rarely ever shows a stress fracture or any sort of tendon or ligament damage. i am not claiming that there was actual pain, or even excusing cam. just saying you take a negative xray of a foot, a limping cam, and the fact that you where a back up qb for ken-west, and all of a sudden you are doogey howser with ww2 medals re-living the big game against ken east.

i will say what i saw on the field was a really good athlete. he didnt make any nfl throws, no nfl reads, and dropped the ball(not literally) in a few key situations. i havent watched him play at all before tonight, so i am not sure what his normal game looks like. i know his numbers are decieving, especially with the amount of dump offs. i really wanted him to light it up. all he showed was he is athletic and deserves a shot in the nfl, just not with the 3rd pick.

  8. I'm not trolling. You spew things that are nothing more than a biased opinion like they are some sort of fact that everyone should drink up. How do you know he didn't want to be on the field in the 4th? How do you know with a lesser defense he wouldn't have lead his team to a victory anyhow? Ever play with pain? Do you realize you can have pain, really bad pain, with a negative x-ray? Give me a break. Add something to the debate other than baseless opinion. Breakdown a few plays, or stats, and show us what you mean. I have faith in you.

stress fractures generally dont show up on an xray and can be super painful. i am still recoverying from mine on my rib. hurt to breath, sleep, cough, dont even bring up sneezing. it has kept me out of sport for a few months now(running into complications). even with steroids and and other pain meds it still hurt for me to compete.

so yes it is possible that he is injured, or even has a break that has severe pain. whether that is what happend to him, who knows

  9. havent watched much of cam newton all year. what i saw tonight was a great athlete run the spread offense and make some plays on his own. his throws werent great, i noticed alot of checking down or dumping off, and when he did go deep he consistantly misfired. most big plays where made by the wr after the catch. i did notice that he always seemed calm and collected in the pocket or even when scrambling.

i wanted so bad for him to light it up, and own the ducks, the bills find there franchise guy. he played well, not a no 3 pick. somebody will grab him in the 1st but not the bills. he just didnt make the throws. in chans quick decision offense i am not sure he would perform well. i would have liked to see him make some throws behind center, some 3-5 step drops and release 10 yards over the middle. he could be good, but i was in no way blown away or overly impressed with all the height.

he could however be the answer for stud te the bills need. i have mentioned it before. after seeing how strong and athletic the kid is. maybe you just toss him the ball and let him make plays rather than win the game? he is big fast and powerful. hell antonio gates played basketball at ucla

  10. I agree with you BuffaloWest. The problem is (and i am sure this is what most Bills Fans are upset about)that it was revealed yesterday that the Saints were willing to give up at least a 3rd round pick for Lynch and told the Bills to call them and of course the Bills didn't. So now the Bills will pick about 50 picks (or something like that) later than what they should have. "AND THAT IS WHY THE BILLS ARE THE BILLS" :wallbash:

you realize that is hearsay. gb apparently was interested too. under what circumstances would any franchise pass up an offer. is it possible that that is the partial story. maybe no wanted more than marshawn for the 3rd (player/pick) maybe not this years 3rd. also is it possible that lynch prefered to be closer to home in seattle rather than in no, bills did him a favor. if this is true why is it coming out in a little blub comment 11 weeks later?

maybe i am wrong about all of this, but it is only speculation, just like that half-assed reporting during the game.

  11. To be honest I think he's closer to John Elway but much faster and with the moves of a RB.

wait that makes no sense. the rules on here are that you can only compare him to other black people. thats why he is vince young, david garrard, jamarcus russel, and warren moon all rolled into one.

i was actually thinking the same thing about elway. the only thing cam newton has in common with those other black qbs is that he is black

  12. because of newtons size, say he doesnt work out as a qb. i would be willing to bet that he would be a great te. at 6'6 250 and speed, how could he not, especially with his ability to sense what a qb would be thinking. it is not uncommon for qbs to be drafted as wr. hell if tebow was at one time thought of as a hb, why not. also just a thought, running the wildcat with a guy that big and physical makes him a legitimate recieving threat, not just show like when trent lined up outside.

i am not advoacting any of this, but because of his build, and athleticism, he is a utilitarian player. i am betting he could make just about any roster at a different position

  13. Hey One Bills gang, how do ya feel about Roy Williams. I'm thinking it would be nice not having to draft a wideout. Roy is almost definitely getting cut and he'd bring us a big target for not too bad a price tag. I think he can still be a big time wideout in the right system. He was a beast in Detroit and I'd like to see some of that jump ball game in Orchard Park. Ya can't throw to a buncha 5'10" guys all day. I don't think we can depend on Easley being that guy. Set down the moonshine and banjo Nixxy Boy and grab that rotary telephone.

good to see we found our arguement in fact and research. current recievers, we can include practice squad for sh*ts and giggles

    Rod Windsor 6'2

We used to have a problem with height on the field. That doesnt really exist for use anymore. That is one thing Nix has always liked, Tall reciecers. Its clear that that has been resolved. This is most likely one of the key factors on why we have been doing so much better in the redzone this year. Maybe you can create another topic where you just make things up, or bring up an issue unfounded in truth so that we can try and bring in a player you have heard of.

  14. The way to play the pats defensively is to scrap any zone coverage. Brady has showed repeatedly he'll eat that up for breakfast, lunch, dinner, bed time snack, while he's sleeping. You get the picture. You play man to man vs their smallish receivers with double coverage on their tight ends, cause thats where the most damage, and their ability to pick up 3rd and medium range conversions will come from. You send pressure up the middle at Brady, and don't enable him to step up cleanly in the pocket. You have to send consistent pressure, and take chances your secondary will occasionally get beat. The guy has shown over the years if you just play coverage he's more than patient enough to dink and dunk you down the entire field all day. You need a big day from the middle of your defense ilb's. Kyle Williams and Poz will absolutely have to have monster games. The packers laid out the blueprint. However I don't expect the bills to measure that kind of defensive success against the Pats. We just don't have the defensive personnel. Our best shot at beating NE, is a steady dose of Fred Jackson. In this case the old adage being the best defense is a good offense. Don't turn the ball over, conservative football keeping the ball out of Brady's hands. It's a test that while i'm sure the Bills will fight they're just not there as a team yet to hang with NE. There's no shame in that. So long as they don't lay down scared. As far as what it would mean to beat the Pats? Getting the proverbial monkey off your back could work wonders for the future. The aura of "Well this game is a loss' will be gone, and everyone can stop hanging their heads in shame, knowing full well we can compete/and or beat all 3 division opponents. One can Hope.... :worthy:

I love the bills as much as anybody, and have found more optimism with worth bills teams against far superior teams. with that said i have a feeling that the bills get slaughtered. 24-42. the pats are spreading the ball well, we have little pass rush/defense in general. running the ball is becoming an issue, and against a stronger offense will be even more important. i was more optimistic about playing ne in ne seeing as billy boy couldnt quite game plan against us with gailey just returning to the league, few games played, and a new qb. with 14 weeks of play i see the pats better prepared than early season. with lee and roscoe gone it will make it easier for the pats d.

side note, our secondary plays better in zone coverage. we have a serious problem with our db's this year since playing more man coverage than years past. we have a bunch of great zone db's and we should float and play the football, and no real shut down players back there.

  15. So I don't have to go to a bar and be surrounded by redneck skins fans?

i am on the page with that one. just moved to okc. other than wild wings there is no other place to go. people i have worked with have actually been pressured by family to excommunicate friends because of the rivalry between osu and ou. college isnt really a problem down here since somehow a ton of kids here sign their life to the military with parents consent before they enter their sr year of high school.

god i love sundays. its like being home again. haha

  16. You have no idea what you're talking about. Kelly's lowest completion percentage for a season was 55.7% in 1995. Here are his completion % stats and td/int #s for each season:

    1986: 59.4; 22/17

    1987: 59.7 19/11

    1988: 59.5 15/17

    1989: 58.3 25/18

    1990: 63.3 24/9

    1991: 64.1 33/17

    1992: 58.2 23/19

    1993: 61.3 18/18

    1994: 63.6 22/17

    1995: 55.7 22/13

    1996: 58.6 14/19

    Total: 60.1 237/175

meant to write 60 sorry guys
