Agreed on Gronk, moss was there 3 years.  He made two solid slot guys into all pros. Dillon?  Come on Bills fam... lol.

Great QB's have to make wr's better. NE was awesome at adapting amd modifying or changing systems up. Each time Brady made his guys great.  Time for Allen to do the same and I think he will.

Agree. Welker was a special teams ace in Miami. He became a HOF with Brady/Ernie Adams.

That pick also bothers me a lot.  Especially when Creed Humphrey was available.   Sometimes I think Beane only outsmarts himself.

The Cody Ford over DK is right up there too.

How many players did you want that we didn’t take, and now those guys suck?

I’d bet a lot more than two.

Gotta love, “Josh it’s up to you to raise the level of skill around you.” That’s fireable imo. I’ve been a huge Beane supporter since he got here. I’ve been lukewarm on McDermott.

Phillosophically, I differ from them greatly on that. If Josh Allen were my QB, I would invest every prime asset I could in surrounding him with elite talent. You’re going to win BECAUSE of him. Their philosophy is that it doesn’t matter who’s around him because we have him. That hasn’t worked to date.

Please don’t talk about the assets that they invested in Diggs, etc.. I don’t want to have to pull the data again of the assets allocated to the DL over WR. It’s disgusting. Depending on how this year goes, I would be okay pulling the plug on this regime. Lots of people could win 11 games and 1 playoff game with Josh Allen. I’m ready to try something different. That’s not good enough with that unicorn playing QB. You’ve failed him.

This is the year to fix everything that has been wrong the last 6 years. Not all of it is on Beane and McDermott. Life has a way of forcing you into certain situations and the only way out of them is time.

Next year we have the cap money and the true help is coming. But the turn around begins in 2024 (on a budget) and amplifies in 2025.

This board is depressing. I feel bad for your families. I'll be back at training camp when the rest of us glass half full and realists invade with positivity since we are the only ones who can see past 40 times and consider mentality and production paramount.

Crying over 40 times and not being able to read between the lines make y'all sound like uninformed babies. I'm willing to bet in person y'all probably have had the Bills at 5 wins total over the last 5 years. Some of you are cool and make actual thoughtful posts and responses, but 80% of this board right now needs to go smoke a bowl and chill tf out. None of you are smarter than the people running the team, or you all would have worked for the Bills at some point. There's a reason we are here and not trading the house for Malik Nabers.

Sometimes I wonder if WGR raids this board and cherry picks some of you ding dongs, heavy into a 12'er of Genny at 8am, ready to make stupid takes so Sal and Jeremy can have a field day with you. I'm tired of the laziness. I'm tired of the melancholy around here; it's like a ***** comedic morgue sometimes. I tried being sarcastic, I tried to reason with all of your logic...it's just so ***** depressing and unintelligent. I love football; and I highly doubt most of you love it as well.

It seems more like you need the Bills to win to satisfy your egos, rather than something we can all have and take pride in. So trading Diggs is less a cancer treatment and more a right hook to your egos. Trading back and landing the WR equivalent to JA bruised that ego so bad you're now in a Rocky-esque stupor. Beane did what he felt he needed to do, bruised egos and all.

Respond all you want, I won't read it; I don't care about you're hurt feelings and your "but, but, buts". And my last take (and it's the bitter truth): The Bills haven't won anything because they've been too immature when they go. Jimbos ego cost us 25, plain and simple. Thurman was destroying them, but Jimbo just haaaad to be the one to win it. Not to mention the partying the night before. That's why Beane focused on leadership. He's shifting away from immaturity, look at Diggs. The Chiefs win because they're serious about it, and these moves make us a more serious team in the long run. We need guys like Coleman who drink football instead of those Gennys. We need men, not immature little boys; this ain't the sandlot.

    Ffs, you people...

Tl;dr This board is immature and sad and most of us are tired of the baby antics because your ego was bruised by long term investment over building a team of super men or MonStars. Also, if the 40 time meant anything as far as success, explain Jerry Rice or Emmitt Smith because according to this board's logic Jerry Rice is a scrub compared to Xavier Worthy. Rice ran a full .5 seconds slower than Worthy. Half a second! Yet he will never be caught; how ironic.

    Nice post.

“This board is so great the fans are so knowledgeable and informed.”  Yuckkkkkk.

It's certainly possible, I'm not going to discount that. It would take Allen having the best season of his career, Kincaid and/or Shakir really stepping up, and Coleman becoming a 1,000 yard caliber WR by midseason. If all of that happens we can possibly overcome the defense inevitably taking a step back and putting on a disappointing performance in the divisional round. It sure seems much less likely than it did at the same time last year though. And I have very little confidence that the draft class this year is going to be littered with true game changers which is really what we needed if the plan was to have a championship ready team in 2025.

I think the biggest things are the additions by subtraction. Diggs was holding Allen back mentally. Hyde, Poyer, and White had seniority over Allen. It’s his team now 100% for the first time.

The offense went on a run since Brady took over and the defense went on a run after the Eagles game.

We make it there because the following players are ready to breakout:

    Shakir

    Samuel

    Kincaid

    Bernard

Top that off with a strong, contributing draft class. 2025 the cap space blows open with Diggs and Miller coming off the books and we make the big time offensive signing everybody is hoping for (or DE).

We had Ty Johnson making those plays for us after signing him off the waiver wire.

It's no surprise the board's favorite picks are the safety and the RB. It is easy to find decent NFL caliber players at those spots, and Bishop and Davis both look like day one NFL caliber players. But we don't need just NFL caliber players at easy to fill spots. We need guys at premium positions that make plays. In the 4th round it is of course harder to find those guys but I would still rather try than do the safe thing and draft a dime a dozen RB.

Fair enough and I like Ty Johnson but this guy is an upgrade. And he will make plays in the type of offense that Brady is building.

I hear you on high level philosophy but you need to balance that with playing the board and the team’s current needs.

For all of you adhering to the overhyped “don’t take a running back too high.” Remember with Brady we are a run first team. This is an offensive weapon. Seems like a great complementary pick  for the running back room. Besides, he seems like a special person will fit right into the process

Better to have an above replacement level RB2 than a replacement level backup LB or DE4.

We’re building a balanced and versatile offense around Allen with strong players rather than the Allen/Diggs show which everyone on this board knows the ceiling on.

Since we're obsessed with 40 times and they're the end all of speed considerations....

    Ty Johnson - 4.40

    Cook - 4.42

    Shakir - 4.43

So that's now four fast guys including Samuel, now in addition to two Coleman and Kincaid. Oh and just since he's still on the depth chart, although I don't expect anything, Isabella ran a 4.3

Are you arguing we need more 4.2 guys or something? Since like 3 of them exist in the league? Some of these reactions are insane.

It's also interesting to note that of the fastest 40 times clocked, that none of them ever did anything other than Chris Johnson. Most were simply track starts that have had worse careers than Marquise Goodwin.

They’re obsessed with Tyreek Hill. That’s where all of this is coming from.

Not a fan of taking another RB this high. With our last three picks we have taken a safety, a backup DT, and a backup RB.

And he'll be 25 years old in November. A lot of mileage on him already, over 800 touches in college. No high upside traits to write home about. You can get that caliber of RB in the 6th/7th round.

He’s a gamer. And Cook has limitations. We need tough backs to get those tough 1st downs deep in the playoffs.
